PhilippinesFor K-1 VISA at Manila, Philippines

My fiancee and I are confused. We have our MNL case number, she has her passport and she has paid her VISA fees and has the bPI payment receipt. We would like to schedule her interview appoinment online but we don;t seem to know what is needed to do that. It seems that you have to complete a DS-160 form online first to get a CEAC Barcode number. But I also read that K-1 VISA filers do not need to do a DS-160. So does that mean K-1 VISA filers at Manila cannot schedule thier K-1 VISA interview appointments online? Is the VISA application the DS-160 form?

So. Can K-1 VISA applicants from the Philippines make thier K-1 VISA interview appointments online? If so, then how do they go about doing that? (What sites t go to and what information is needed in hand to be prepared to do so.

If its asking you CEAC barcode, then you are at the wrong page. K1'ers doesnt use DS-160. Try this page this is the right one. fill it in and you may wanna try several times and play with dates of the BPI payment. sometimes using the date that you paid doesnt work. mine took 2 to 3 days from the time i paid so instead of 21 they had to encode 24. i wasnt having luck in scheduling online either and was frustrated in getting a sched to so persisted calling and there found why my info wasnt working coz i kept on putting 21. heres the link http://www.ustraveld...0JV5rfr02mex0s=

goodluck and i hope it helps. if not better try calling them

PhilippinesWhat does the visa look like?

Hi,

Just wondering what the visa looks like. My fiancee received the packet today but isnt sure where the visa is or what its supposed to look like. I instructed her not to open the packet and that it needs to keep sealed until she arrives here, then the immigration here will open it.

The visa is printed on a page of her passport. she should retrieve that so she can go for cfo seminar and have the sticker. the packet that was instructed not to be opened are the docs for the immigration officer at the POE

PhilippinesStranger things have been said...BUT

Hello to all the Philippine VJer's -

Well I am back again with possibly another controversial topic but this time it kinda hit closer to home rather than the randomness of a piqued interest topic. Anyway before I dive right in a little background about me. Well I am a Black American (ooohahhhhhwhoa!) Yes it is true, I am also educated (wow really!) yea heard that one too LOL, own my home (yea Black people can own things these days) have a decent career (no its not in pharmaceutical entrepreneurship) I am not privileged yet to own a bass fishing boat like my buddy Tallcoolone (jealous). I have traveled all over the world and have been blessed with a decent life with little to complain about. I have been to Philippines several times now and found it to be a home away from home. I have always been treated with open respect and in some parts like a rock star but a few episodes ago my fiance shared something interesting with me one of her friends said to her...

This other woman who I will not name asked my fiance "Aren't you afraid of black guys" :wow: so I was inclined to contact this lady to entertain her reasoning, but I let it go. Then just last week while my fiance was at the Embassy for her interview another lady of filipino roots said to my fiance "I am afraid of black guys they have big builds" WTH!...wait there is more, so my fiance is part of this Pretty ladies (VJ) group on FB and some member decided to share that black guys in America beat and mistreat their pinay wive...I mean really now.

It is so funny how these women feel as if they were not being disrespectful in any way to my fiance and other women of filipino roots who have healthy relationships with men other than white. So my question to any of you who feel inclined to comment, what is the problem? So is my color that big of an issue to filipino's and why would these few ladies being so vain to think its not rude and disrespectful to pose those questions?

I understand that men of color are underrepresented in Philippines and in terms of dating and potential love interest Brad Pit is the image of choice there BUT I could have fired back and asked this one lady why are you going across the world to marry a man that has been divorced 3 times 2 with pinay and what makes you think you are the one that changes it all for him. Or is it because I am not 55+ and grandfather looking with a healthy pension makes me less desirable? In other words 99.9% of women from the Philippines should be with Older white gents and those who found anything opposite should go slit their risks.

Late

Aw! well i think its more on becoz some if not most of those pinays see the white men as the norm...stories goes around like fire or virus sometimes. they hear one story and use that to categorized everyone of its kind.

i have lived in bahrain where i dealt with american navy people, both black & white and i can say both have some attitude problems of their own but for the most part they are good people. i have met a few black men who actually turned out to be my very good friends. so yeah sometimes unless you get to meet and acquinted with them you will never can say what they are or who they are. I say ignore them, you know yourself better than anyone and your fiance should do the same too.

PhilippinesWhile Waiting For NOA1 and NOA2
If you're very lucky, you can have it in a month, 3-4 or 5 or worst case scenario is 6,7,8,9. it depends!
NBI clearance validity is 1 year but it would be much better if you obtain a current one say atleast few weeks before youre expected interview?
Same with CENOMAR/CEMAR & birth cert, although these docs doesnt have date validity its best if they're newly issued.

PhilippinesMail drop

if you prefer, you can just request for a pick up from the courier office
you can give them your contact numbers.....
though the best is, the real address....
courier companies normally dont give packages or mails to persons other than addressee....
not unless the addressee gives an authorization letter......

right. and how is "no real address? there is always address there and they will find it. also you can note when sending to contact her first or that she can track the mail online and go pick it up. they will give it to her is she is the one picking and have valid identification, tracking number and your shipment's number
Zharren YoungFemalePhilippines2011-05-15 08:05:00
PhilippinesMail drop

OK, I want to start the K1 process. I need a location in Manila for the future wife to receive mail from the Government. It should be near Muntinlupa City. I was quoted 1500P a month paid for the year in advance and I think that is too much. Anyplace someone can recommend?

why for? the only time you need to send her docs is when about she have her interview as shes gonna need to have all the originals from what you sent to USCIS, plus a new i-134, new letter of intent to marry to be submitted in her interview incase the CO ask. and you can send all these thru fedEx as one time deal, you will be able to track it so it sure will be delivered.

Philippinesst lukes cagayan de oro????

I am hearing there is a st lukes in cagayan de oro doing medical for the US embassy, does anyone know if this is true and there they are????

i think its best & safe to email both ST. Lukes & USEM to make sure its okey for you to have your medical there. its alot of money to waste incase USEM wont honor it.

PhilippinesCivil Documents at the interview

Nah, nobody wants that. :star:

Correct. NSO changes the color that they use yearly.

Birth certificate might be needed in the future but, I doubt it that NBI will be, too. Maybe I'm wrong...

Nope. But that's definitely a Jollibee meal already. So can I have Jolly instead?

yeah NBI may not...and sure it is one jolly meal hehehehePosted Image

PhilippinesCivil Documents at the interview

I hope you VJers are all fine.

Just a quick question.
If I have submitted NBI clearance at the Visa center, do I have to submit another NBI clearance at the embassy during the interview? Well, you can only get one NBI clearance once a year. I still have my personal copy with me. I got my NBI on March 4, 2011 and it is valid for one year.

Next, I have read on one post that the CO asked for an updated NSO birth certificate, do we really need an updated NSO birth certificate given the fact that nothing's wrong with my birth certificate, no changes at all. I have my birth certificate on hand aside from the one we submitted at the NVC, but I got that one last August 2010. Do I have to give them a newer copy? I dont see any expiration date in the birth certificate.

:help: Anyone?

NBI Once a year not true, i got to get twice in just a month. you also can show your copy if you really dont wanna get a new one, your choice. theres no guarantee that the CO will ask but if so its better to have it than sorry. for sure you wont be happy incase that would cause you days/weeks of delay right?

Birth Cert, not sure but i often hear people say every year they update their paper so i guess that shows which year you got it.

Why dont you just get new copies? i say copies coz you still may need it in the US in the future.
its not that expensive so its better to get them and be ready, those kind of docs are always great to have on file for any future reference. goodluck

Philippineswindow 70 of US Embassy Manila

I am told to have another interview and to go specifically to that window but havent had that interview yet cause im still waiting for USEM to call me to do that interview. This is so frustrating its been two weeks since my interview and we still dont if we are approve or not.

hmmmmm....did they ask you for any additional docs? any reason why you need to have another interview???

Philippineswindow 70 of US Embassy Manila

Hi everyone! Anybody here ever experienced being interviewed at window 70 of the US Embassy Manila? What is it like? Please share your experience. Many thanks for all the info.

i cant remember which window i was interviewed but its sure is near the window where i filled my delivery address which i think is 2go. also im not sure if each window is designated to a certain consul, im sure they rotate and each of them does the interview base on your file so theres no standard interview procedure. although as much as i can remember, hes an old guy, almost look like a filipino, wearing glass and kind off serious facial look

PhilippinesWhat did I do wrong?

Filipinas - I'm curious where the throwing things comes from? Did your mother do that when she got angry? From what I've read, Philippine culture is a matriarchal society. Did you ever see your father throw things or get violent when he got angry?

NO! not all filipinas are like not, thats not even a filipina culture. most filipinas are loving and understanding. he just happened to have met some ungrateful abusive spoiled brat. it can be his fault that she is behaving that way, coz if hes gonna show her that she cant be acting like this then im sure shell learn how to behave properly.
Zharren YoungFemalePhilippines2011-07-14 13:02:00
PhilippinesWhat did I do wrong?
What a shame really. if your story is exactly what happened, maybe she got upset and felt offended for thinking that you disrespected her infront of her friend, although honestly thats exxage reaction, but telling you that she doesnt love you and wanna leave you? thats way out of the line. shes acting like an immature spoiled brat. i say dont tolerate the attitude, as early as possible cut it off and tell her that if she want too you send her home now, she needs some reality check unless you wanna be treated that way forever.

For BPI just your passport & cash. tell them what type of visa then they have a standard peso equivalent of the $350 amount.

PhilippinesI need help... Interview OVER but fiancé RECIEVE 221G..

Fiancé interview was on 10/17/11. Fiancé RECIEVE a 221g asking for more documents BC/CENOMAR/NBI clearance for his previous last name which was ammended on his current BC from NSO. Anyway I was wondering if the I- 129F petition expiration date on 12/7/11 still stands? Our I-129F petition was approve on 8/8/11.

since he already had his interview, hes allowed up to 30days to submit the required additional docs. might be even longer. he just have to let them know if so. for some that had prob for affidavit of support & financial stability of their fiance, they were given up to a year to have their proof so im guessing depending on how hard for him to acquire the required documents he will be allowed up that time to gather & submit them. he just have to keep intouch and make sure about it.

PhilippinesSLMEC in Manila

Hey Guys,

I was just wondering what time is the best time to head over to the clinic for the medical. I have been told by others it is good to be there by 0300. I was wondering if this is a good idea or not. What does the people who have done the Medical for the K1 Visa think?

when i did mine, i accidentally arrived at 230pm. i was planning to get there before 1pm but stupid cab insisted to take me to ST Lukes in QC. Anyhow, it turned out to be good coz it wasnt too crowded and i got done pretty fast. the next day i was asked to return at 1pm for my shots. Posted Image

She is waiting in Manila every day for this and no one can help.

I gues I try as she would call it to "Get Wild" with 2go and have them find the lost Visa's

its just has been few days, the normal wait is up to 10working days. but so far, alot of people has been waiting for up to 15. just relax, if after 10working days and you still dont have it call them back again.

PhilippinesBooking plane ticket from Philippines

I think this may have been discussed in another thread but..... It appears that the Philippines has an obscure requirement that you can only purchase a ticket departing the PI in the PI.

So how did many of you handle this. Yes I know I can just send the money, but I have a KAL frequent flyer account and KAL credit card that i Use to rack up Sky Miles. I called KAL and they suggested I go thru a travel agent and buy a pre-paid ticket that she can pick up at KAL in C-Boo ( it's Halloween :) ) Anyone ever done this ?

Also from what I can tell the absolute shortest flight out of C-Boo is Kal C-boo-- Korea---Atl. . I flew this back in may, and it took about 22 or so hours total. Wish they had direct flights into C-boo from USA.

why dont you just send her the money and let her find some first time immigrant promo tickets? for one way they range from 550 to 750 depending on where is the destination ;)

Philippinescfo... disappointing!!!
When i had my CFO seminar i went to PRISM center, it was so fun and filled with laughter i really didnt expect it that way. I always hear CFO seminar is such a pain in the butt aside from the fact that its another rip off trick of the phil government. But after my seminar i didnt really feel so sorry. I left with a smiling face ;) although there was a 22year old girl who wasnt able to get her certificate becoz they were asking for a parental letter from her parents, still that wasnt too bad. She had her mom send her a scanned letter thru email, went back the next day and viola! she got it.

Just give them what they wanna see and add more if you can. After that there should be no reason for them to not give your cert. otherwise insist to talk to their superiors.
Zharren YoungFemalePhilippines2011-11-23 15:21:00
Philippinescfo... disappointing!!!

i answered her questions confidently, the first thing she asked was my age. actually, people from there thought i'm too young because of how i look (i was just wearing regular shirt and look formal)i don't know if my looks made her think that way. speaking with requirements, there website they didn't say anything like going there with proof that u have a genuine relationship and also pictures that u really meet ur fiance in person. what is that? they gonna act as if they consul??? of course, even though i was so annoyed that time, i still kept smiling making myself to calm down and treated her nice. if she really want to see proof, she should be ready for it cause i'm gonna load her bunch of documents  what made me angry was, she didn't give me a certificate.

Just go back & give her what she asked period. You are right, there was no specific requirements on their website thats why pinays/pinoys going thru these process who are lucky enough to join the visa support groups becoz they get to learn from other applicants experience and be able to prepare for whatever is needed. Try to check our website, you will find alot of girls that are still on process or have just got done attending CFO seminar and it went all fine even if some of them has 20+ years of age gap.

PhilippinesI-94... can be extended???
hmmm...... once again this query seems to be in benefit of this girl i know lol. who came here and after 8days asked her fiance if when theyre going to get married. then when he answered "NO RUSH" she got mad and told him "if it wasnt rush then why the hell you let me come over here? you should have let me stay with my family instead!

And then since then, they started fighting everyday. She would give him attitude for not buying her a cellphone, she complains that he wont let her meet new friends and hang out, she complains that he wont let her wear sexy clothes and she complains and so mad of him for telling her that she needs to earn his trust as the poor guy have been burned many times.

Eversince that day, she would always pick a fight, show attitude of superiority and would dare him to buy her a ticket so she could go home becoz her life is WAY much better in PI.

One day he took her to his office, she turned on the music s loud that made the fiance mad and told her that if she wanted soundtrip she should wear a headset becoz theyre in the office. Again she got mad, didnt look at him and out of no where once again asked him where is her ticket? the guy got pissed and took her home.

On their way home she told him that she wanted to passby a store to buy something but he said no, again she got mad and started asking about her ticket. They got home, via internet she asked me if i could call the ticketing office as she said its only him who went inside so i did but they said call back on monday. As soon as the fiance came home, she asked him if did he really booked her ticket or not. the guy was quiet and she went on saying so you mean you lied??? the guy got so pissed off he left and when back got the ticket booked but she canceled it as she says she already changed her mind. Days went on, fighting everyday went on the guy refuse to buy her ticket again.

One day when they fought again, after the guy left, she went walking to the bus station to go to some Jewish Mother to hang out. she went there alone and no permission. The same thing the next day, but later when she got home she found out that all her stuff is outside the house and the apartment locked up. She left and stayed with her frens, she told me the guy was texting her but she didnt wanna go back. Few days after that she called me and told me she met a new guy from cali and that hes really nice and was sending her money so i told her okey use that to buy ur plane ticket.

This girl has so many stories, all untrue, never matching up. sometimes she would say she wanna go home then the next she wanted to stay and marry another guy. She kept on reseaching for ways even thought she could use the waiver stuff to adjust status.

I have kept statements from her asking me and my husband to take her from her fiance's house and that she would stay to our house and later would just get work permit but my husband says no.

She had plans and intention to stay illegally in the US.

As of now one of the girl shes talking to suspected shes actually been living with another guy and she even said : it is wrong if i fell inlove"?

Im hoping OP is not referring to this girl who as of now is soliciting money for her " so called ticket to go home" becoz i think she dont intend to. but i heard people advicing her the she can extent her i94 and that she can "legally stay becoz she already inform USCIS and that shes in a terrible situation" so she can get an exemption in her case.

PhilippinesVisa pickup at 2GO branch Manila?
Alot of my friends and people i know pick their visa from 2go branch in Mall Of Asia in manila, mine i did from their main warehouse in pasay. it doesnt matter if its pick up or delivered. i got my visa back then 7 working days after my interview while other people on my batch received theirs 3 days and they lived in cebu and bacolod while me just live in makati...so of to where youre picking up your visa or where it is going to be delivered doesnt really make much difference. it still varies from 5 to 1o working days if youre not on AR/AP

PhilippinesK3
4 months is still within the processing time, yes there are some who gets approve at 3rd month and they are lucky but thats not a basis. there is no such standard processing time actually, process varies from 3 up to 7 to 8 months if not a year. you just have to be patient and wait. when u reach the 5th month you can start calling USCIS
