US Embassy and Consulate Discussionmore questions

This is what is says in the K1 interview instructions from the US Embassy in Manila:

So yes, if you were in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia for more than 6 months you need police clearances from each of them also.

Good luck

George

well i already checked on their website and it says i cant apply unless im still residing there. applicants residing outside kuwait & saudi cant have police clearance. im assuming that the embassy knows i cant get one so i'll submit my bahrain clearance and NBI instead

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionmore questions

The Embassy will treat police certs as valid 6 months even with the 3 month notation on the document.

Moving this to Embassy/Consulate forum, Police certs are needed at the interview, not when filing a petition.

thanks YuandDan.
sigh its only 7am my time and im already so stressed out. thanks for clearing this. also been reading and i think i dont need to submit kuwait & saudi police cert since it says that only applicant residing can apply and not residing outside their country. plus those times were way back prolly 10years ago and i dont even have my passport of those anymore.

thanks again

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionmore questions
okey my apologies for having multiple post please bear with me.

according to USEM requirements;

* Police certificates from your present country of residence and all countries where you have lived for 6 months or more since age 16*

i have lived in bahrain for the past 8years, i did however successfully acquired a CID Clearance before i came back to manila in August. so far ive been here for 5 months now. my bahrain CID clearance says its valid for 3 months. do i need to renew it? or its okey since i got it before i left the country.

also since it says its required to have police clearance since i was 16, am i required to get one from kuwait since i was there when i was 18 then saudi when i was 24?

or its enough that i have bahrain CID clearance & manila NBI clearance.

anybody else who have experience and knowledge of this please?

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionincomplete name in my NOAs

I hope anybody can help me and give info about the problem that we are encountering now.. :help:

In my NOA1 and NOA2, under the beneficiary's name, we found out that my fiancee's name is written incomplete/not fully written(middle name is not written also). Even in their system :(

Will i have problems at the embassy esp submitting my Identification(written my full name) on the time of my interview? What else do i need to prove that i am the beneficiary aside from pictures?

Also, my NOA2 will expired before the interview, do the consulate revalidate it automatically?
Pls i need any of your advice..I will greatly appreciate it:)

girl, do you have any idea of where is your case right now? if its still in NVC or already forwarded at USEM?
i have the same issue, only difference is, according to NVC my mailing address is still in Bahrain instead of manila. We have sent letter of change of address and called USCIS before but seems like these people are really very incompetent. We got approved without them updating my info's to think that they freakin waited 6months to f**king look at our case. Now NVC seemed to messed up our Manila Case number...so go figure! But alteast my fiance is able to send them another email correcting my information. We intend to keep on calling them to track the development. More mistakes are no longer acceptable and totally disappointing.

Try to know where your packet is, and email them or call to do the necessary corrections. Goodluck

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionIssue on My Name - need advice!

What you've done you have done but I'd suggest that in DS-156 to :whistle: state all other first names used by you.
If you were issued a B1/B2 visa then there should't be any problem however just be prepared to explain to the interviewer about the name change in your passport. If I were you I'd procure an affidavit of support from your embassy/consulate affirming the change of name. My K-1 visa was delayed just because of a similar story.
Good luck.

i had the same issue before, all my life i have been using MA, schools, passport, driving license,NBI and toher ID's i got from working abroad. I just recently found out that in my BC it spells MARIA instead of MA...so far all went ok and wasnt asked any question about it

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionCenomar

Hey VJ friends!

My fiancee received an email from HOng KOng Consulate and our case is pending coz she is requested for CENOMAR..I wonder if she really needs this since she is annulled and she has her document of her final decree of annulment and the certification along with her marriage contract remarks marriage nulled and void..If so ..was it true that the delivery of the CENOMAR takes 6-9 weeks if outside the philippines? Is it send direct the HK US consulate?
Pls. anyone who had experience pls advice me..share your experience..expert..thanks a lot.

hello, not sure if you were able to resolve your problem already but yes, she needs to get a CENOMAR. thats to validate her records from NSO that her record is updated from married to annulled and free to marry. if she would request CENOMAR by email then it could take longer. if she needs it faster then she can have any of her family member to go and request it as long as she provides them with authorization letter and then they can send it to her via express mail. Good luck

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionChanging my filipino fiancees address

Does anyone know how to change my fiancees address? She moved and we are not sure if the embassy has sent any paperwork yet. I called the NVC and the embassy and neither was very helpful.

she moved where? if shes still in PI its better if she calls. USEM dont normally send the packet, they will email her for her eligibility to sched interview and have her medical. but mos of us didnt have to wait for that. as soon as we got our manila case number from NVC, we went ahead, had our medical, payed visa fee thru BPI then sched our interview online. funny that i got my eligibility mail from usem when im already here in the US lol

We are having trouble with the finances and paying for the paperwork and finding a co-sponsor. Is it possible to have an extension on our application to give us more time? Apparently the application is at the embassy now.

you can email USEM to request for extension, if im not mistaken i think you have up to a year to have your interview.

PhilippinesPolice Report
no she needs NBI clearance not simply police report. police report only covers a local area while NBI clearance is more on like national. The same thing in Dubai, she needs CID clearance instead of just a police report

PhilippinesPolice Report

The problem is she will have to travel to PI to get another that. She is in Dubai now.

theres a way to get it from dubai, she will have to go to the phil embassy and ask them that she wants to request an NBI clearance, they will hand her a form where she can fill out with her info then she can do the fingerprints, also she will have to send a copy of her previous NBI clearance. She can have her sister or any family member to get it. She just have to write them an authorization letter. Thats what i did when i had to get one while i was in Bahrain.

PhilippinesPolice Report

Hi guys,

First week in January will be the 5th month that I filed the petition for K1-Visa. As we were chatting today, we agreed to start reviewing all the documents that we need. Here is the problem.

She works in Dubai and hopefully her interview will be in Dubai. Back in June we got engaged in the Philippines. She obtained a new Police Clearance dated July 02, 2010 and went back to Dubai. The problem is that her Philippines' police clearance will be 6 months tomorrow. Will she needs to travel to the Philippines to get a new police clearance when we get the NOA2 and she goes for her interview? I think the police clearance is only good for 6 months.

The police clearance for Dubai is not a problem. If she needs to get another one, she can get it.

But come to think about, she has been out of the country for all that time working in Dubai! I like to hear from the experts..we are worried.

:help:

Not very sure about it but as far as a friend who have been thru it, she had to request an NBI clearance from PI together with her birth cert, cert of singleness and had it authenticated in DFA. as from Dubai she will have to obtain a CID clearance which is pretty much easy if she have all her docs ready.

My wife just took the CFO seminar at PRISM 2 days ago & they did not ask for.

She had:
Passport & photocopy
Marriage certificate & photocopy
Passport pic.
Photocopy of Immigrant Data Summary for US bound.

She ended up paying 400 + 250 + 150 = 800 pesos. The 150 pesos was for a handbook they said that she "needed".

wow! that sounds like alot?

oh that's for the registration part. I won't be doing that part yet. I will just attend the CFO's guidance and counseling session and get the Guidance and Counseling Certificate (GCC). I'll be coming back for the sticker and registration once I have my visa

@ femy:

For your Cenomar, I am pretty sure you should have an original or at least a Certified True Copy together with the photocopy like what they require for the marriage contract but then I am in no position to answer since I haven't done it yet nor am I familiar with the process. If nobody answers your inquiry here, there is an email link at the CFO site, it will be best if you ask them directly. :)

ah okey. question?
do they still require you getting cenomar, bith cert, NBI to be authenticated to DFA with so called red ribbon to be submitted during the interview?
Zharren YoungFemalePhilippines2011-01-12 01:36:00
PhilippinesCFO Seminar at PRISM

Hi Femy,

Have you read the requirements posted at the CFO site? This should answer your question whether you need the original documents or not:

Requirements for Attendance to Guidance and Counseling Program

Two (2) valid identification cards (IDs) with photograph;
Duly completed guidance and counseling form;
If married, certified true copy and photocopy of marriage contract on security paper from the National Statistics Office, or Local Civil Registry Offices; or original and photocopy of marriage contract duly authenticated by the Philippine Embassy/ Consulate (if married abroad)
Other documents as may be required by the counselors; and
Payment of P250.00 counseling fee.

Requirements for Registration

Original and photocopy of Passport;
Original and photocopy of visa;
Original and photocopy of Immigrant Data Summary for US bound/ Confirmation of Permanent Residence for Canada bound/ Certification of Eligibility (for Japan-bound);
Original CFO guidance and counseling certificate;
Duly completed emigrant registration form; and
Payment of the authorized registration fee.

Original and photocopy of visa?
you said your still waiting for your NOA2 right?
so how does that work?

PhilippinesAnyone experiencing this?

Since before New Year's, it has been nearly impossible for my calls to go through to my fiancee in Cebu. A few times the calls went to completely random people. I have tried all hours, and at first the calls would go through in the afternoon (Ph time) but the past few weeks none of my calls will go through at any hour.

Is anyone else experiencing this? What is up with the Ph phone system? Any help would be appreciated.

Btw, Anyone wishing to contribute OT drivel in this thread, keep you smart @$ comments to yourself, please.

Thanks.

hello, me and my fiance is having the same problem. he could hardly get thru when he tries to call and i dont even get his text in time. i thought my BB is acting up coz i can send text messages just fine so we just use fb and skype to call. sadly for some crappy shitty reason skype if not my internet has been acting up so so we barely understand each other coz it chappy so we just type our chats instead of the usual video calls.

sorry i dont have a solution for you man, just thought id share that you're not the only one experiencing it.

no problem. i am too. i have lived abroad for many years and the longest time i stay here is only a month. so far this 6months was the longest. i never thought it would take this long to wait for the petition to be approved. I was asking becoz my bestfriend back then had her papers authenticated w/red ribbon & seal from malacanang palace. now i heard they do that in DFA. thing is she was interviewed abroad so maybe thats the reason why she was asked to do so. so far i couldnt get a solid confirmation if USEM require the same thing for the interviewPosted Image

everything should be authenticated thats their requirement esp. for birth cert.for ur marriage cert(previously)make sure if u are annulled u had this annotation stating ur marriage is already void otherwise they will not accept also bring an original and photocopied of ur annulment decision for nbi just get the usual u dont need to authenticate just get the (for abroad/USA)just relax everything will be fine just keep on praying and God is always there to help u:D

well i have cenomar delivered today & brith cert too. i will be picking up my NBI clearance this tuesday. so where do i get them authenticated? is it DFA that do this?

if u had ur case number try to call the US embassy and make an appointment sometimes scheduling for interview just like others said just wait for ur appointment letter but in my case i waited so long (just like 2wks)but no mails arrived until such time that my husband called the NVC here in US got our case number and I called the US embassy in Manila and asked if im eligible to make an appointment for our medical so with interview mine starts like MNL but maybe for this year they issued MNA just try to call US embassy and try to give ur case number and u will know if u r eligible already for an interview hope it will help u Godbless:D

ok i'll do that. hopefully i will be since i already paid the fee todayPosted Imagethanks
oh, just a quick question did you had to get your cenomar, birth cert & nbi authenticated in DFA? im quite confused, i knew back in 2007 when my bestfriend had hers, she had to get her papers authenticated w/ red ribbon in malacanang then i heard now you can do that in DFA, but some people say they no loner require that. they also dont mention that in their website so im thinking maybe the reason why she was ask before is before her interview where abroad. so i wanted to confirm if do i have to do that or not.

Hello VJers, im posting this question for all who just got their NOA2's recently and just got their manila case number from NVC. is your number start with MNAxxxx???
Also when we called, "THEY" said they will send us a letter with our interview date. Does this mean I dont have to battle thru their call center agents or online appointment scheduling process? I have read its been so hard to do this.

Any info shared will be much appreciated...thank you.

only thing i noticed though, i dont understand why USEManila let people come as early as 4am when they dont open till 630 or open or start interviewing 730 or 8?
I just find it so stupid to let people hang out outside the area that early. i have never seen that in Bahrain or heard it in other country i knew of.
they let you schedule interview online and show time available you can select and strictly ask you to be there an hour before otherwise appointment will be considered cancelled.

PhilippinesFor K-1 VISA at Manila, Philippines

No she did not get anything from the USEM yet. We thought we could schedule online already because we have MNL# and paid the VISA fees. So we will wait a few days and in the meantime I will e-mail the Embassy as you suggest. What is the best e-mail address to use and what should the subject be?

Thanks!

I have emailed both email add below. Be patient though as most of the times specially when they dont have your case yet they will just fload you with automated replies no matter how many times you email them. But once they see your case in the system they write you back with the eligibility letter saying you are now eligible to schedule an interview online or by phone. Subject? i put mine as problem in online scheduling. also make you you add you & your fiance' info like bithdate, name, case number and contact numbers and email address

PhilippinesFor K-1 VISA at Manila, Philippines

My fiancee and I are confused. We have our MNL case number, she has her passport and she has paid her VISA fees and has the bPI payment receipt. We would like to schedule her interview appoinment online but we don;t seem to know what is needed to do that. It seems that you have to complete a DS-160 form online first to get a CEAC Barcode number. But I also read that K-1 VISA filers do not need to do a DS-160. So does that mean K-1 VISA filers at Manila cannot schedule thier K-1 VISA interview appointments online? Is the VISA application the DS-160 form?

So. Can K-1 VISA applicants from the Philippines make thier K-1 VISA interview appointments online? If so, then how do they go about doing that? (What sites t go to and what information is needed in hand to be prepared to do so.

If its asking you CEAC barcode, then you are at the wrong page. K1'ers doesnt use DS-160. Try this page this is the right one. fill it in and you may wanna try several times and play with dates of the BPI payment. sometimes using the date that you paid doesnt work. mine took 2 to 3 days from the time i paid so instead of 21 they had to encode 24. i wasnt having luck in scheduling online either and was frustrated in getting a sched to so persisted calling and there found why my info wasnt working coz i kept on putting 21. heres the link http://www.ustraveld...0JV5rfr02mex0s=

goodluck and i hope it helps. if not better try calling them
