There's this small exhaust port.. I mean it's no bigger than a womp rat, so I'm pretty sure it's not a problem - but if someone was like using the force or something they could score a direct hit on the reactor core.

Should I be worried?

Peachy and Varba... that is ROCKING!!!! God some of us have to get moving, no???

I have a question... I called the NVC today and usually, they finish scheduling for the second week in the month it's now what... the 15th? They guy I spoke to ( he did sound like a bit of a knob) said to call back next week as Montreal wasn't done yet.

I presume that this was to get me to STFU and GTFO, right?

Seems they have added that to thier script to cut down on phone calls.

Ignore it.

The DoS told me very specifically that they have no ability to store notes or anything else about the case, so they can't flag it negatively if you call every 15 minutes. They don't even store who looks up the cases.

I think you call the same place I do... Might be the crazy in my brain talking though.. man my head is killing me.

Subject: Case# ####

To whom it may concern,

Hello, my name is Varba, the petitioner for Peachey in a K-1 Fiancee immigration visa case number ####.

Peachey mailed the completed packet (K1 visa packet 3) to your offices on July 14th, 2009. According to our tracking number, it was received on July 17th, 2009.

Since that time, we have been anticipating a response in the form of a interview date.

We have been periodically calling the Department of State for an update, as to when our interview date would be, and to date we have always heard that there is no scheduled interview.

Today, the Department of State recommended that since our wait has been excessive, we should contact you directly via email and get an update on our interview status/date.

What is the status of our interview?
Can you provide an estimate on when the interview may be scheduled?

We look forward to your response.

Varba & Peachey

That is good?

haha best answer yet!

i'm curious actually, peachey, if you're ahead of me or i'm ahead of you or what. because you sent in your docs before me but you said they were logged in august. we have no way of peering into the big black hole..

fwiw i called at noon and there's no date.

unless they changed their policy and aren't giving dates out now.

No idea.

We mailed it July 14th.
They signed for it July 17th.
They put us in the system making us eligible on August 15th.

I don't know where that puts us... cept SOL.

So I went to the post office today because my Packet 3 didnt get a confirmation signature and I have to call their help line.
Great. I hope they take email instead. I hate phone customer service.

haha good luck. I hate calling CS (and I worked at a call centre for almost 3 years... lol). I had to call someone last night re some issues with my car and I hung up on them... whoops. innocent.gif

I'd maybe try calling anyways though. You'll probably get a quicker response.

Peachey and I were part of a group of players called Customer Service in one game we played. When people complained, we sent them "forms" in the form of "catapults destroy your entire existance please start again".

Very amusing.

We even drafted offical documents to send to people infoming them of thier impending doom and other assorted #######. smile.gif

Today's update:

Varba has raging headache and overslept.
Varba has huge impending car bill.
Varba called DoS and got the same person as Tuesday.
Sarah of the DoS informed Varba that no interview, no update on what caused the fake interviews, don't expect interview until January, and stop calling every day.
Varba continued construction of the mini Death Star to rain destruction upon the Consulate.
Varba decided to speak in 3rd person.

Varba is glad that, in spite of this week being possibly the worst week I've ever had to deal with in my existance, on Saturday I get to hug Peachey. (As a side note, hugging my laptop with a webcam on is NOT the same as hugging Peachey.)

The End.

I was telling my fiance last night about how long these interviews are taking to even get scheduled. First we planned on getting married on New Year's Day. Well, we scrapped that idea and now have picked April 29th (an anniversary of ours).

He is done with classes in December, he got laid off of work in August, and so he will be twiddling his thumbs.

I told him to come visit me for an extended vacation at Christmas until we get an interview date.

I hope he does because I am really losing it with this long wait!!!!

I know I'm just spinning my wheels by even mentioning this, but how come there is an expiration date of 4 months from NOA2 if it's just disregarded? Isn't there any way to hold them more accountable? I know I fully intend to write the consular general once I begin the horrendous wait. I know it's probably too early to become so frustrated, but after seeing all your timelines, I'm outraged! I can't imagine everything on hold for so much more unnecessary time. We all have lives to begin/continue! Ok, I'm done now. Thanks for letting me rant a moment.

That's what the support group at visa journey is all about.

Weird jokes about timbits, commies, poutine, cats, and this wretched immigration thing that they try to convince us is a working process.

I had no idea that immigration was so slow, painful, or complicated before this - but you better believe I'm going to do my best to make sure other people don't have to deal with this #######.

*edit*
And about your NOA2, it expires - but it also auto extends (or so I've come to understand) if it can't be used due to the consulate being slow.

Got off the phone with a lady named Sarah at the Dept of State.

We were the third case today for her that thought they had an interview but didn't, she promised that she would talk with her supervisor and get in touch with Montreal and see what the #### is going on.

Their best guess right now is, someone screwed up at Montreal and flagged a bunch of people as having interviews when they really didn't.

She wouldn't put me on with a supervisor, and wouldn't help me figure out who I talked with on Friday.

She stated, that with the current workload and their current knowledge of the backlog in Montreal - we should not expect a interview until January 2010.

mad.gif

I was as civil as I could possibly be, and informed her that this is completely unacceptable. You can't #### with people this way.

We have lives and plans. Or lack of them in a gaping moving time period thanks to lack of a scheduled date.

How is this ok?

Schedule the interview or make us wait. Do NOT give us false hope.

I even told her that I just wanted to show the consulate how much I appreciated their efforts in keeping our process moving. She typed "no" very fast, and I know the exact look she gave her computer.

From the bits of information I have gleaned from the DoS, they did not even enter us into the queue until 4 weeks after they received our packet 3.

The people at the DoS seem pretty "ok" with receiving calls about your status, so I'd say feel free to call (and often). Just don't expect much information besides "No interview" for awhile. sad.gif

I'm trying to refrain from doing mean stuff, like flinging poo at the consulate... going to other countries forums and telling them to STFU when they talk about waiting so long (cause they are getting K1's way faster)...

Making people wait this long for the "fast" version of legal immigration is sickening. They really need to figure out a better way to run their operation.

Automatic response from Montreal:

hank you for your inquiry. After analyzing the large number of incoming emails (we average more than 1,000 every month), we are providing this automatic response to answer the most frequently asked questions. If this response does not answer your question, please be patient for a specific response, hopefully within 4 to 5 business days If your question can be answered by the list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) below, our office will consider that your question has been satisfactorily answered.

Frequently Asked Questions: Table of Contents

1. I have sent multiple inquiries, but have not gotten a response. Why?
2. Where can I get more information about Immigrant Visas and the NVC?
3. When will I get an appointment?
4. If I cancel my appointment when will I be rescheduled?
5. Where will the interview take place?
6. What photos do I need to bring?

15. How do I check my priority date?

****

Q3: When will I get an appointment?

A: If your inquiry concerns an immigrant visa case where the I-130 petition was filed at a U.S. Consulate in Canada, please be aware that there is a high volume of cases waiting to be scheduled for appointments. Resource shortages may delay processing for 4 to 5 months after we receive notification that you have all of your required documents. Please remember to bring ORIGINAL documents of birth, marriage, divorce certificates, etc. Thank you for your patience. If you have submitted a checklist and 4 to 5 months have elapsed and you have not received an interview date yet, please inform us immediately.

If NVC sent you a letter stating that your file is complete and it has been sent to Montréal for scheduling, the file has, in fact, NOT been sent to Montréal. Rather, it is waiting at the National Visa Center (NVC) until an appointment can be scheduled. Due to the high volume of immigrant visas we process, there is currently a 2 to 3 month wait for scheduling appointments after NVC receives the OF-230 (parts 1 and 2) and all the forms listed on the OF-169 checklist. You will receive an appointment letter in the mail when your appointment has been scheduled by NVC. You can expect to receive this appointment letter several weeks before your appointment. Please remember to bring ORIGINAL documents of birth, marriage, divorce certificates, etc.

If your inquiry concerns an immigrant visa case where the I-130 petition was filed in the U.S. and it has not been scheduled for an appointment, please send your inquiry directly to the National Visa Center. To contact NVC, please forward your inquiries by email to: NVCInquiry@state.gov. If you have been informed by USCIS that your petition has been approved and forwarded to the Department of State, please contact NVC directly.

@SapphireDreams

Good to know, we were lead to believe that the interview wait was not nearly as extensive as it apparently is. It is frustrating to me especially, as I work in the computer industry and could quite simply create a system where they could feed documents into a scanner and pop out interview assignments.

Then I see people like us, lgg, ect. who wait 3 months just to hear when our interview is and I get very upset.

@lgg

Yes, Peachey is my finacee. I seem to be one of the few male only accounts (ie: not shared) on here, so it's an easy mistake.

And yes, my siggy quote is real, and from the phone today. The lady had very poor english and I found what she said humorous.... even though it hurt.

OK well I do know that there is at least one person in the past 6 months who submitted their P3 to Montreal and then got an interview date just about a month later.. so I'm going to hold out some hope that this thing can actually get done in 2009 for me and my fiancee!! smile.gif

I'll see what I can find/cookup for you in all it's geeky numbery glory.

Doubtful that it will console us, but at least we might see something.

Might take me a bit, but I'll poke at it during lunch break - see what is out there and such.

I think it's absolutely horrific that Montreal can't even get interviews booked before the damn NOA2 expires. That's f'ing RIDICULOUS.

Amen.

Maybe today will be the day for everyone waiting..... maybe....

Somedays I feel like driving up there and throwing things at them until they schedule interviews for all the poor VJ people who've been waiting so damn long.

Sharp things.

This waiting is really annoying me. It's been 2.5 months for me. You'd think they'd be able to schedule something. I just want to know so I can give proper notice to my landlord sad.gif

They'll remember us (and everyone else) sometime and be bothered to schedule interviews.... I hope....

CanadaWhat's For Dinner - Part Deux

I have lots of broccoli I'd like to get rid of before it starts turning. I think I might make a cheese and broccoli soup.

I vote for a casserole with chicken and broccoli and cheese. MMmmmm.

Tonight I'm cooking, since Peachey has been doing it so much recently I feel bad.

I'm going to make some tasty homemade beef curry.

Personally, I love lamb curry the best - but lamb costs a lot here.

Did you guys put it right at your address (or your street at least), or did you just put a vague reference to your city? Icons placed mid-ocean notwithstanding...

I really want to sign up for this even though I haven't moved yet ... I know where I'll be living, though!

I haven't moved yet either! So I put myself at my Canadian address now, and the US one where I'm moving to smile.gif

I wouldn't put the icon at my address. Somewhere within the general vicinity perhaps, but not right in front of my home. Maybe I'm paranoid, but I like my privacy.

I put mine in a river intentionally. =P
