Hang in there Nini, and congrats. Do you think your family raises objections because of school because they don't want to "lose" you but don't want to say that? We'll welcome you to PA. :)

I don't know how things are now, but last fall, they were pretty inconsisten with their answers: "don't know," "we're scheduling from May," "...scheduling from August," etc.

Yeah, I know we already saw a more recent photo of our favorite Tim Horton's fan so I thought I'd check the archives and get a picture of flames as a youngin.

CanadaDouble turkey!
My wife and I are planning to go to Canada for Canadian thanksgiving and then staying in the US for the US(appropietyly enough). Since my brother and I are hockey fans, he's thrown a Canada Day picnic insetead of a 4th of July party the last 10+ years. He has an Ontario flag that was "acquired" from a post office and we drink Canadian beer. We also play a game called Wilbur Hockey which is like polo, sans horses and uses a rubber kiddy ball.

CanadaWhy no Tim's in the US...

Now, why isn't there a Tims near Philly? :(

I emailed and said they should serve Tim's products at Wendy's for branding purposes. I said my location and the reply said, :thanks for your suggestion of Media, PA. That would be cool because that Wendy's is a 10 minute walk. :)

Oh, I forgot to mention that my wife wanted a travel mug. It came with a free coffee, but since we didn't use it(the coffee that is) we can get a free coffee between now and 2010!!!!! One time use, I know but still.

CanadaWhy no Tim's in the US...
My wife and I went to Skaneatekes NY this weekend to take a long weekend, and so it would be in an area near a Tim's so she could get an iced cappy or two. We found out Thursday night that she is pregnant. and during our drive, we realized the ice cap would be a no go. Anyway, we got to Tim's in Geneva and asked for a decaff. They were able to make it so she was happy, though it didn't taste as good as mine w/the caffine. To make a long story longer, there was no one in the store. DD across the street had quite a crowd. I think it was around 3:30 or so. The people at Tim's said it's usually crowded in the morning. I guess this shows why Tim's doesn't do so well. The car in the pic is mine.

I'm having trouble uploading the pics. I'll try again later.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionConulate Location?
Will it cause a problem if I had the wrong conulate on my I129F. We thought it would be Toronto, but after we mailed the form, we found out my Ashley's consulate was actually Montreal. The folks in Canada told her it wasn't a problem but will can it mess up/delay things?

thanks,
john

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionMedical Question
Hey all, My fiancee was wondering what she needed for her medical. Does she need her past medical records/immunization info or is there something else the consulate will want? Here's her question:

"if my immunization records have to be the originals, or if I can go to a doctor now, have them find out what I've had by a blood test, and testify to that?"

Thanks!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPacket 4 question
Will my fiancee have anything in Packet 4 that I need to fill out/have notarized as a USC? I'm visiting her next week and while she hasn't received packet 4 yet, I figure we could save a little time and a stamp if I could take those things with me. She's in Canada, if that helps with the question. Thanks!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI-134 question
Hello all. My fiancee mailed me the I-134 she received in her packet 3. I've seen posts saying the consulate needed two copies. Was this info anywhere in the instructions, or did I misread posts? Thanks!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionNew letter of intent
Hi all. I was wondering if there are any specific instructions for the new letter of intent that comes with packet 4. My fiancee is close to getting an interview date :( and I'd like to get it to her sooner rather than later in case there's an issue with the mail. Thanks in advance for the help.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI-134 Question
Hey gang, I had a question about the I-134, affidavit of support. In the instructions, one of the requirements is to have my bank officer state how much money was deposited over the last year. She was unable to provide that, but gave the amount of a recent direct-deposit from my employer. I also supplied the other finacial requirements(employment letter, stocks, etc). Is this sufficient? Thanks!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionChaning interview date in Montreal
Hello everyone. I was wondering what people's experience was with changing an interview date in Montreal. We have the 15th of this month, which is great, except my fiancee is having a hard time arranging transportation. The train isn't a whole lot cheaper than a plane, plus cost of housing/transportation in Montreal. She figures it's close to $1000 and that's money we can't really afford to spend. Has anyone changed their date before and if so, how accomodating is the consulate. Will she hear right away, or go back into the pool amd have to wait? Thanks!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionMontreal, Canada, Interview timeline???Does anyone know how back logged Montreal is for K1 interviews?
Tinker beat me to it. That link is the best way to go. When my wife(then fiancee) was waiting to hear from Montreal we'd hear anything from "we're still prcoessing apps from 3 months ago" to "I don't know". You'll get a different answer each time you call.

I think you can also send in your checklist before you get the police/medical. At least that's how it was for Canada.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionMixed Blessin- Interview date too soon!
My wife(then fiancee) had an interview scheduled in Montreal for mid November. She emailed the consulate to see what the possibilites would be to have it changed for mid December when I was visting. They gave her that date without her saying she wanted it. Mind you, she had a request in for an interview for December. We would've liked it much earlier but as things were being pushed back we wanted that time so we could go together. It doesn't hurt to ask.

The conuslate might tell you that the petitioner doesn't need to be present. She said it was more because of transportation than anything, I think.

Make sure you itemize it !!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks! With the itemized list, if she has books/clothes, do they want a specific amount of books/authors, or "x" amount of dresses?

CanadaMoving question
Hello there, My fiancee was intending to come to the states a week before our wedding. She was thinking of flying. If she brings whatever she brings with her on the plane, can her family and friends bring the rest of her stuff with them when they drive down for the wedding a week later? Would she have to sign anything to say it was for her? Thanks!

CanadaIs there a faster way to get police certificate?
My Beloved is in Ontario and she went to a local police office and had it handed to her while she waited. I think it was around $25.

CanadaMedial Question related to Pk. 3
Hi all. My fiancee has received package 3 and it says to have everything completed(icluding medical) before sending in the checklitst. I've been noticing people's signatures have said they sent package 3 on such and such a date and their medial is on a date after it was sent. Can we do this(send package 3 while only having a medical appointment scheduled but not done yet)? Thanks.
