Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	August 2009 I-751 filers	My wife had her bio yesterday. I was wondering if they'd ask her any questions b/c another poster from Philly said they did, but no questions to her. Anyway, just an FYI if anyone is going to Philadelphia for their biometrics, check your address! Ours was in NE Philly. We're about 20 minutes from center city and gave ourselves plenty of time. I flew on Northwest and they took them from us as we boarded the plane. I knew that was not a good thing when I was going there. I'm a little late here, but if you have a frequent flyer # with Northwest, your old itineraries are online(up to a year). K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Question about RFE	Hello all, I'm new to this list but have been reading for a few weeks. I filed an 1-129F in the beginning of June. On June 29th I got an email saying they were sending a RFE. I called the Vermont office and they said it could take 14 days but as much as 30. I still haven't received it yet. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	RFE Arrived	Hello all, RFE arrived yesterday. I was out of town for two weeks and had the mail held. It had a sticker on it from July 8th. I had delivery set to resume on the 15th. Needless to say I was not thrilled about the delay in the mail system. It was the marriage broker form. Does anyone think this form and the accompanying conviction form to be a waste? Wouldn't they find out about a conviction in a backroung check, which I'm guessing they're doing anyway? The broker thing doesn't seem like it was worth a stamp to them. Doesn't the I-129F ask how you met and if you met through a service wouldn't that say that? jg ps. While I understand this is the stadard reply, I didn't see any time frame they were talking about. Last time I emailed him with a question(about the immigration bills) I never heard back from him. My senators responded with a general form letter though one was more helpful than the other(Arlen Spector) who went on about what comittees he was on. I know I haven't been waiting as long as others, but I was curious to see if he could do anything, especially in light of no action for the VSC folks in the last few days. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Help...How Do I track my case from NVC	I just got through to the NVC and the lady said what everyone else did: You can't use the automated system for a K1. I thought I would be an annoyance to her but as soon as she picked up she asked for a case number and my fiancee's name/b-day and then gave me the dates and then our consulate number. I said that was all I needed. I just checked DHL("expedite iv section" as a reference) and it said a package was shipped on the 14th and arrived in Montreal on the 15th! Yay! To those still trying to get through, hang in there. Ashley and I have learned so much through all of this. While the distance stinks, it's helped us get to know each other and learn how to communicate. Think of people who have "regular dates" and time with each other. They might go quite a while without really knowing each other. I'd also like to express my appreciation for the folks in these newsgroups. Forget about the information everyone provides, which is helpful. I'm talking about the encouragement/building each other up that goes on here. It's nice to know we're not lone wolves going through this mess. NVC will also be able to give you the case number the consulate will use. When you call the consulate, this new case number will be what they refer to. My fiancee and I had a date in mind, canceled it, had another date, canceled it. It's really discouraging to go through that. We're waiting on Montreal and if you call them, you'll get different responses, depending on who you get. We were told something different each time we called. The only thing we've been booking and changing has been my church. Then again our reception will be there too, so it hasn't been as much of a hassle as it could be. Anyway, I wanted to know how status updates are sent to me. Are all update communications from the VT Service Center emailed to me? Or, do I have to keep a watchful eye on the USPS snail mail every day? Please let me know how the general process works once submissions are in. Thanks! Kind regards, WillyKid You'll get an NOA(Notice of Action) in the mail. There will be a case id on there. From that point you can go to www.uscis.gov and create an account with that case number. You'll receive emails saying things are being mailed to you. And then a few days later things will show up in the mail. If your case was 'touched'or updated it means they did something with it. It doesn't always mean they're looking it over, but went from pile A to pile B. Vermont moves at a good pace though. So you could be approved pretty quickly.	jg_am	Male	Canada	2006-11-18 10:03:00
