Canadavisa when visiting canada as a gc holder?
i am a german citizen holding a us green card. can anyone tell me if i need a tourist visa to enter canada?
my husband and i are planning a trip to niagara falls on the canadian side.
is it enough for me to present german passport, marriage license and green card to re-enter the us?

did anyone do a early walk-in at the baltimore asc? i got my bio app yesterday for 01/04/10 but will be out of the country until 01/07/10 so im trying a ealry walk-in today after work....
how are my chances?

every time you move the gc holder is required to change his address with uscis as well as the person that is sponsoring the immigrant with the affidavit. this can be done on uscis webpage online.

thanks for the info! i am actually trying to get citizenship, germany allows dual citizenship, but you have to apply for a document in germany that allows you to have two and then apply for citizenhips here... i just dont know if i would have good enough reasons why i need to have 2 citizenhips to actually get it!

i actually wanted to move back to germnay in about 5-6 years, my gc is valid until 2020, do i have to let uscis know once were moving that im leaving the country? i know that my gc would be considered abandoned at one point. i thought that if we would want to come back to the states at one pont id just have to apply for a new gc? or am i wrong?

receptionist: "we dont do early walk ins"
me: "but i wont be in the country for the scheduled app"
her: "just come in the following wednesday after you get back to the states"
me: "do i need to send in the letter requesting a to reschedule my app?"
her: "no just come in, wednesday is for overflow....."
me: "and your sure i can just come in on the 13th? cause the letter states that if you fail to appear for the app your case is considered abandond!"

i got my bio app in the mail today, 01/04/2010. unfortunately ill be out of the country until 01/07
the only day i could try a early walk in without having to take off work is tomorrow....
are there any regulations on how the hair is supposed to look like? i have bangs and am wondering if they need to be down or can be pulled back??

On that letter (your NOA1) there is a receipt number, mine started with W..not sure how that works..anyway, If I were you, I'd take that number and go to the NSCIS website and register so you can see your progress on-line. And select Email Me option (or whatever it's called) so you will get an email when you're approved (which will be your NOA2).

The date you will see there is the last date anything was done with your file - each time it changes, that is called (here) a 'touch.'

hey everybody!

i just registered at VJ!
my fiance and i already filed for the k1 at the beginning of january at TSC and i thought now its time to get an account on here! we used this homepage to get all the information and forms for this visa and im really thankfull to whoever created this page!
my fiance got a letter saying that CSC received our package on february 12th, apperently TSC is not working on K1's anymore!so basically we lost one month from filing it and getting to CSC! oh well, at least it got there!!

my question now: is the letter saying that CSC received the package ,also the NOA1? im a little confused! :wacko:

i still have tons of questions, but im going to ask these later on, i just wanted to say hi and im also waiting for a visa!

you will need your birth certificate for the interview. i dont know how it works in the uk but here in germany you can order an international bc. its nothing special, just your bc in different languages! you will also need a some translated bc for the aos process, so getting a international bc is the best what germans can do! but since your bc is alreay in english, maybe you dont have to get any translations whatsoever!
why dont you ask in uk general discussion area, they can definitaly help you out with that!

you have to have your interview for your k1 visa at a us embassy in your homecountry! the purpose of a k1 visa is a one time entry to the usa and getting married to the usc.
if you want to fly to the us during your k1 process for VISIT then you have to make sure you have enough binding ties to your homecountry. nevertheless, the officer at the poe can refuse to let you in even though you have enough proof that you will go back and not stay in the us until your visa is issued.

the petitioner and the co-sponsor need to fill out the I-134 each and get it notarized. dont really know how that works when youre not in your home country. make sure you show supporting documents for the affidavit. then send it to your partner caust it will be needed at the time of the interview.

yeah, do it as soon as you can cause it can take a while! my fiance didnt collect all the supporting evidences for the affidavit of support in advance and now i have to wait until he got anything before i can send in my checklist to get my interview date!

i think police certificates are needed when you lived there for at least 6 months. this is what the instructions say i got with my packet 3.
but why dont you check in your regional forum for the right answere. maybe its different here in germany!

i would write done just the town you lived in and from when to when, no specific address.

hey everbody!
im about to obtain all the necessary docs for my "when ever interview" and i was wondring about the passport style pics. i know everything important about the pics except if i am allowed to wear my bangs down! they cover my whole forehead and go till my eyes/eyebrows! do i have to pull them back for the pics or is it ok as long as one can see my eyes?

hey everybody!

my fiancee finally sent me all the origingal documents we submitted with our petition and all the other stuff that is needed for my interview.
he said he sent it registered mail and now im a little worried that the envelope couldnt be here in time for my interview!
he sent it out saturday and my interview is in 11 days for today. im really getting worried on this one so can anyone tell me how long it averagely takes for mail form usa to germany???

just tell youre fiance to use your new address whenever he is asked for one where he will stay. my finace moved too and i changed his address during my interview on thursday since the officer asked if there are any changes in my info.
