Vietnambuying clothes

It could be just me but I get the impression that the OP may not be looking for suits, tuxedos or silk shirts. He literally wears the pants off his jeans.

It's definitely just you.

You can find decent clothes at Co-Op Mart, but pants above a 34 waist are a hard find. There's at least one Co-Op Mart in Can Tho.

It''s nice of her to think of you, but there are better deals to be had in the US.

Personally, I'll take something that is made in Vietnam over something that is made in China. I've managed to find a lot of clothes that aren't "effeminate" or "junk".

VietnamOrange County authorities cracking down on Vietnamese cafes

In Houston there are lots and lots and lots of Cafes popping in biz lately. I guess lots of ladies figuring instead of hard working at McD's, or Home Depot, whatever, they might as well "take advantage" of their "assets". Lots of folks where I work often invite me to join them to pay visits to these "cafes" after work, especially on the weekends and/or Fridays evening.

I told them "Sure, who wouldn't wanna some fun? But if I see one of my daughters or my wife working in there dressing up like that, do you think I still enjoy my cup of java?".

Their response? "Do I care? As long as they're not my wife, daughter, not my prob!"

I guess it's the same feeling for prostitution as well.

So for those folks who think it's no harm, no foul, read the above story and reevaluate your moral meter.

You like to praise the Bill of Rights, but you think women don't have rights in regard to their body?

Your English has improved significantly, by the way. I still disagree with most of what you post, but your message is a lot clearer.

VietnamMy Journey might be over

Small town living would be incredibly boring for anyone with a pulse. It's a place you go to die, not a place you go to live. Honestly I can't blame her for wanting to leave. Did you at least talk about moving somewhere better? If I had to live in VN to be with my wife, I would not want to live in a VN hick down somewhere between their only two major cities...but I could stand living in or near HCM city. It's a big difference. Most people, even other americans, want to LEAVE small towns and not try to go back to them.

A LOT of people leave small towns out of necessity, not because they want to. She knew where she was moving to, or certainly had plenty of time to research it.

Ever hear the phrase "...for better or for worse"?

Tuyen never planned on coming back. I checked her belongings and she took all her jewelry and nail polishes with her for a "2 week" stay at her brother's. She hasn't told me directly what she plans on doing. She is ignoring me since she went to OC. But I have a pretty good idea. Since coming back from VN she distanced herself from me and my family. She bought new luggage when she got back from VN, but didn't have a trip planned. He's going down there this weekend to check things out. I told him that if she want a divorce she needs to talk to me directly over the phone or in person. Looks like my journey is now over.

I'm shocked to hear this Kevin.

I have experience in Vietnamese divorces, if it comes to that. I should have mine finalized in a few months...so I can do it again!

There's plenty of good women in Vietnam.

wow this is very good english for only a couple years? did you also study in vietnam? i hope my fiancee can write half this good in 2-3 years.

and not to be negative but with K&T situation i didn't have a good feeling reading the OP. she just gradually shut him and MN out from the start until she finally made up her mind to leave. i've seen the scenario many times talking to my father (counselor in the viet comm for domestic cases). at least she didn't make up some wild story about kevin beating her. not sure if there was love on her side, because if you love someone you'd at least make an effort...which she didn't from the start.

It depends on how much the person is putting into it. I've know people who picked up pretty advanced English skills in a few years.

How was the DNA test conducted? Where were the DNA samples collected, how, and by whom? I've gotten a lot of questions about this stuff. One member said he was told he would have to go to Hanoi for the DNA test.

This company is claiming that they meet or exceed USCIS standards.

During the immigration application process, a petitioner may be requested to supply additional evidence of a claimed family relationship. To obtain this evidence, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) center or U.S. embassy may suggest DNA testing, which has become recognized around the world as the most accurate and definitive method of verifying biological relationships. The USCIS center or U.S. embassy may or may not suggest a specific laboratory to perform the DNA testing. DDC can provide the DNA testing services you need.

Our credentials and experience show that we can be trusted to carefully handle the DNA testing for your immigration case.

we are currently vacationing in dao phu quoc. i just put on my contact lens and it is killing my eyes. i am guessing it is the humidity that causes my eyes to be all red when i wear my contact lens. anyone here know where i can get some new ones? a pair of contact that can take the dryness and humidity would be awesome. luckily i brought an emergency pair of glasses.

Don't know about the contacts, but you may want to try some Rohto eye drops. You should be able to find them at a pharmacy there.

VietnamOffice job vs Doing Nails or Hair
It depends on the university. Vietnam National University and RMIT (Australian) are the 2 that appear on a few Google searches, as having agreements with US universities to accept their transfer credits. There's also a few US universities with programs here.

Having a degree already and getting a job with it is another subject. I guess it would really depend on the job or the company.

She may want to consider taking the TOEIC test, as proof of her abilities in English. If the potential employer isn't aware of the test, I would suggest listing it on her CV/resume'.

http://www.ets.org/toeic

Vietnamese university credits normally don't transfer.

Your wives, or fiance's can go to The American Center in Hanoi, or HCMC, and get advice.

If you enroll your SO in a community college, do classes start at the beginning of each semester? For instance, my fiance won't be here until Feb/March so she will miss the spring semester. I assume she would have to start in June for summer classes. Is that correct?

It depends on the school. They may have classes starting every month.

Dave's ESL is a better forum for your question.

http://forums.eslcaf...pic.php?t=91288

Personally, I feel the CELTA is the best bet, since it's accredited/overseen by Cambridge University. TESOL's, TEFL's, etc. are not accredited by any one organisation (other than the Trinity College, London TESOL) and the costs are about the same ($1350 to $1600 tuition). You can get a job with either.

Anh Map and I have all of the CELTA books, so that's one expense you wouldn't have to worry about, if you choose to take it.

Whichever one you choose to pursue, make sure the course is your number one priority.
