As long as you don't bring drugs or bombs I think they won't ask you weird things. And if they ask why do you bring the ring, I think you could just answer casually, " Yes, it's a ring.. would it cause me any problem ?". If they ask who do you want to visit, you could answer casually again, " My girlfriend, would it cause me any problem ?". I think it's the best thing I could help you with my words. As long as you file your AOS paperwork before your current visa expires, you should be ok to stay while its processing (Keep all paperwork in case you run into any issues). It can take 3-6 months to process. More if you run into issues. As far as getting married, I would suggest doing a civil wedding at city hall as soon as possible so you can get the paperwork underway. Then do a wedding for friends and family when its more convienient. Doing multiple weddings is quite common for couples in the visa process. If you get an RFE, you ussualy also get a return envelope to route the documents to the correct place. Its possible, what you have sent may delay your processing, but you have to wait until you get an RFE to make corrections. Or you may get lucky and your petition gets approved anyway. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Attention Feb filers still waiting for NOA2	Hi all! Just to let you know for your sake, we didn't receive an NOA2 in the mail, haven't had a change on the website since our last touch which occurred May 8th, but today when the mail came, we received his packet from the embassy in London. So, this means without us even knowing, we were approved, the packet left CSC, went to NVC, and then on to London. They sent all the medical interview stuff and forms, so I just wanted to let everyone know, I was manically checking the website every other hour, which hasn't even been properly updated. Still says "received and pending" even now! I just don't think they are updating the site appropriately. Hope everyone hears about their case soon, if you already have, congrats as well! No notification has been the case for a few people. We were also touched around the same time you were. I'm getting all my valuable information here. He told me that it was odd for me not to have the Affidavit of Support because the NVC sends it out....He also told me that for the interview nothing was required but my fiance's passport....I think he doesn't have much knowledge on the whole thing. The only good he's doing is calling the people I cannot get through to in a timely manner. Hehehe. Thanks! NVC does much more for other types visas. Calling the main USCIS number and following the prompts for questions about a request for eveidence gets you connected to the service center your case is at. I dont remember the exact path, but you do have to enter your case number. It will tell you to send in the requested evidence, but if you stay on the line, or push a number you get to an operator. You can also call the NVC, but they will only be able to tell you anything if they have recieved your case. You can get a few of the forms ready while waiting, but for the rest you have to wait until packet 3 has arrived. Certian things do have a limited validity, like the police certicicate, depending where you get it from, its valid from 3 months to a year. So you may not want to get it too early. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	I just spoke to CSC on the phone (June 22, 2007)	I guess, just that I am a bit afraid that the NOA1 would come with a RFE that I'd miss and that'd delay our case, unless the page online tells that a RFE has been sent as well? For info, I was told by the first agent on the phone that I could find my case # on the back of the check but none of the numbers I could see online (thanks BofA) would make sense, so my second call to the USCIS was escalated and after few verification questions (name, address, name of the fiancee...) I was given my case#. Waiting 2 months then... Ussualy it will, but sometimes it doesnt. Unless your case has been rejected by the mail room for something obvious reason like missing a check, you wont know if your case needs more evidence until they start processing it. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	I just spoke to CSC on the phone (June 22, 2007)	Since I sent in my I-129F almost two months ago and have not heard anything and because it had been over 30 days since CSC cashed my check - I decided to call the 800 number. I was told that because of a computer glitch and backlog, almost no NOA1s were mailed out for applications received over the past 2 months. Can you believe this BS?! They told me to wait another 30 days for the NOA1 to arrive. So...3 months to (hopefully!) get an NOA1 in the mail. This is crazy! PS: At least I get to go visit my Sweetie for a couple weeks in July =) (just registered, first post) OK, that can then explain why I have not received my NOA1 in the mail when our case was received on May 29th (going on a month of swearing at the postman not delivering the UCSIS envelop...). I have not been touched by CSC since June 1st, just getting nervous and frustrated... Any other late May (it took them 3 weeks to open my mail and cash the check) with more progress?? Good luck all. bozzo Based on your timeline, you probably wont see anymore touches for another 2 months. It sits on a shelf until the backlog ahead of your case gets processed. I would definately include it at the consulate stage, and it will come .. it just might take a while to receive it Well I was kinda with you on that one... I will still send it when I get it. But, today I just broke down and went to the post office and submitted all the paperwork. I decided my best option was Express Mail. 3-5 days and she will have it at only $39 dollars. If I get the NOA-2... I'll just have to copy it and send the original later. I'm starting to think that this web site makes me more worried than anything haha. I better stop worrying. You want to keep the original, you will need it later for AOS. Well... already two weeks after I got the e-mail saying, "On May 3, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we have approved ...." So where are they? I am really worried because I know that my fiancee will have her interview in a month or so based on how the timeline is going (things are going quickly) and it can take 3 weeks to mail it to her. I guess I could use the $250 dollar FedEx or UPS or DHL service if it gets too close. It is also crappy because she lives out in the country, and basically her father knows someone at the post office in the closest town and she calls him whenever I send her something. So I don't even know if FedEx or whatever is an option. I wanted to use Global Express from the USPS which they say a 3-5 day in a perfect world... comes out to like 1 1/2 weeks in real-time. Anyway. I'm all ears for that first person to shout that they have their NOA2 in hand. The NOA2 is not required for the interview. It stated in the OF-169 that there's an immigrant visa fee of 3078RMB ($380) due at the time of the apointment. Does this apply to our case? I think thats for CR-1/IR-1 visas. Yeah, and the most amazing thing is that Cubans can take advantage of the 'Cuban Adjustment Act' which allows them to by-pass all legality of the US immigration laws and covertly sneak in to the US and claim a visa based on the fact that they orginated from Cuba. If any other foreigner comes in this way, it's called illegal immigration and they get deported back immediately. Considering the fact that it's been over 500 days since I first submitted the K1 paperwork, I followed all the rules and paid all the fees, and even almost 2 years, and after the interview at the USINT (US Consulate in Havana), they still find reasons to kick it back to Washington DC for additional review by some other inter-agency task force. No wonder there are so many Cubans trying to come in thru the 'back door', so to speak. Why waste hundreds of dollars and years of uncertainty with the legal way to immigrate, when all you need is an inner tube that floats, and catch the right current and drift to Key West or Miami in a few days. Then you get instant adjustment! Considering that your fiancee is from Cuba and the U.S. has no direct diplomatic relations with them, if you get her here soon that will be amazing. Hang in there a little longer. I read the state department information about U.S and Cuba relations and it isn't getting any better right now. Good luck.
