Dear ~Nini~, I listened to the Citizenship Diary on-line.
A documentary about a British woman and her experience on naturalizing.
I love so much about it.
I especially nodded in agreement when she said that most highschool students cannot pass the citizenship test, and how W got stuck 4 times on one part of it.
Plus the unceremonial ways of it all.
Not to mention that those immigration bureaucrats that confuse the U.K. with Ukraine.
Bah!
Funny...and so so very sad.

A great listen.

I completely agree! I'm glad you enjoyed it. smile.gif

Also - 4'11" and a quarter. I would give my arm to be a few inches taller, for practical reasons. Shopping at the supermarket is always interesting laughing.gif

Oh, I forgot to add - I listened to a great radio segment thingy on soundprint.org called Citizenship Diary. Y'all should take a listen before they take it off the site at the end of the week, it was really quite introspective and resonant. smile.gif

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who was slightly perturbed by that coffee. Looks like something I'd hallucinate during a large bender, but then again my imagination has always been extremely creative laughing.gif

This morning (after a very long time tossing and turning in bed trying to get to sleep) the cat decided to take over my pillow for her own use. I had to remind her that it doesn't work out when I'm still there, but she ended up winning anyway. dry.gif

In case-related news, my case has been transferred to Philly! I'd hoped to skip the interview, but small favours wink.gif

I've been to Seattle many, many times, and I adore it very much. I have a few friends there who I wouldn't be averse to seeing more often, and the weather does agree with me better than these East Coast winters... blech.

School-wise, Bee is looking to get his master's degree in a something-or-other, most likely relating to his current bachelor's degree which is in English lit and business/tech writing. I'm looking to finally finish my bachelor's degree, hopefully in criminology (though, I've changed my mind so many times, this might not stick either...). We've been looking at the programs at Bee's alma mater, West Chester University, though they're being quite stubborn about my Canadian transcripts and lack of GC. The reason we've been hesitating is mostly because of our accumulated student loan debts, but we're hoping to get that settled soon-ish. Preferably before the in-laws drive us completely bonkers laughing.gif

*snicker* Grandma Len... I had a good giggle at that one.

We've been discussing our moving plans... sadly we're not going to be out for at least another year or so (and that's dependent on whether we go back to school) but it's been from finding an apartment around the area we live in now, to going all the way to Seattle or Portland. Oh my! Choices, choices! Makes my head swirl just thinkin' about it, but right now we're just going to wait for my EAD and leave it at that laughing.gif

Visited DC today with Bee and his brother and wife, where we saw the National Gallery of Art (and the bea-yooooootiful Da Vinci portrait they have there) and the National Portrait Gallery (where we took our picture with the Stephen Colbert portrait laughing.gif). Long drive there and back, but it was a great time.

Off to soak my feet in hot water now and snooze biggrin.gif

You were in DC and didn't tell me?!@@%%&^

It was a completely random and spontaneous trip planned by the in-laws! We didn't even have time to visit my friends in MD, we were in such a rush to fit all the museums in sad.gif

Oh Liz, it is so challenging, this vicious cycle thing about wanting to work to make more $, and to have the leisure time to spend with loved ones.

I agree! For now, the hubby works because without it, we wouldn't be able to survive. But we look on our free time as something special, considering that we've been separate for so long. It's really about looking at things in perspective - and he knows better not to bring work home with him. whistling.gif

My new sweater from A&F arrived today! It's sad how hard it is for me to find clothes that 1) fit and 2) I like to wear, but this one was a good find, and it is lovely. heart.gif

And if it can't get any more hilarious... we received a letter from the congressman's office about our case, basically stating that CBP denies any responsibility for my huge paperwork messup. Considering that our case is on the move now, I'm not even sure whether I've got enough left in me to stir the pot up some more. I'm sure the congressman's office is tired of hearing from my mother-in-law at this point laughing.gif
