Just this morning we went in the US Embassy in Manila for my daughter's CRBA And US passport Application!Even the filipina screener is so mean,the first who interview us and have so many idiot questions that doesn't even make a sense to top it all she wrote a note in a paper while interviewing me like insufficient evidence and highlight it maybe for the consul to notice it first plus she said there is a big chance we will be required DNA coz our evidence before the child's birth are not strong enough..blah blha blah!!!The cute handsome smiling face consul throws me questions that i can even answer even I am sleeping 1.What is your name? 2.When is your bday? 3.Where is your fiance now? 4.when did he visit you?how many times? 5.when is your child's birth? 6.Did you have any relationship here while in a relationship with him?(LOL) 7.What are your plans once you are in US already? Then he just take a look at my pre natal records and said exactly "the scrapbook you did amazes me so much with the effort you put in it plus the fact that it shows clearly how you are in love with each other.No reason for me to doubt that the father of your daughter is really your fiance!Congratulations,we will send you your daughter's Passport and CRBA certificate in 2 to 3 weeks" That's it,What a tiring but wonderful day!THANK YOU GOD!!! Mexico, Latin & South America	I need help for additional documents for my VISA	Hello VJ'rs I need a help if there is any member same experience as mine,I had my Interview last January 25,2010 and my VISA was on hold because of my son's CRBA..long time and long time it was finally approved.Now,I am about to get my VISA but the Consular services didint give us any formal leter that it was approved,I mean no hard copy,they send my fiance an email that it was APPROVED.I am calling the embassy but there is no way i can talk to someone who can tell me that the email that they send me would be OK as a supporting document.(I will print it out and send it to VISA unit). I ask the consular about this but they said,I will wait for the passport and I can show it to the VISA unit.THe form that they gave me after my interview was to submit a CITIZENSHIP RESULT.the approved email could be a result of the citizenship application. I am bothered if I can print it out and send it to them?Is there anyone could help me??I badly need answer.. My fiance have been trying to call NVC for 3 hrs but keep getting a busy line,i know coz we're talking in Yahho voice,and i almost fell asleep listening to the operator.I can only imagine his face like this hahaha...My poor darling!so he end up sending NVC an email,anyone who knows how long or how many months before they will response to email?and when is the best time to call NVC? We are so excited to know if we already have a Manila Case no. They did help me at my embassy and also told me that the package was already sent (Dec) lost along the way. So yeah call NVC and/or embassy. Good luck! I called the USCIS once because I couldn't wait either and they told me that they could not give out information to the beneficiary... the NVC however does so I would call them. They are nice and very helpful. Since you have been approved in December I'm pretty sure your petition is at your embassy already (unless, god forbid, there is an issue). Call (NVC or embassy) asap to find out where you stand. All the best! edit: might want to move this to USCIS/DOS forum? They were very nice back when I called too (I am petitioner). US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	K2 Visa for 11 months old...	It is NOT true that your child is automatic US citizen just because the father is a USC. You have to report your child's birth to the US embassy in Manila and apply for CRBA. Your child can have k2 visa if the baby is included in the original k1 visa application. Your child is not yet a US citizen unless you files for her CRBA and is granted the US citizenship. We had her even before we file for a K1 visa petition,we also get a K2 for her so she will be included,,But some are saying K2 is not needed anymore,we might as well let the Consulate in Manila about it so if they will approved no need for K2 visa and she is automatically a US citizen too coz her father is a US citizen...I thought that is just for married filipina and US citizen one..My fiance even took a paternity leave when i gave birth and he is the one who even register the birth of our daughter and get an affidavit that Kiss(our daughter)can carry her name even we are not yet married... US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	WOW!Atleast something happened..=)	My fiance received NOA2 hard copy dec.17,then jan 6 another notice letter(a frustrating one)stating this "This is to advice you that we have received the above application or petition back from the department of state along with their request that it be reviewed.We will notify you on any action we take on this case"...Now i received an email stating this " Current Status: Case reopened or reconsidered based on USCIS determination, and the case is now pending. We reopened this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) on March 3, 2010, and are now reviewing our earlier decision. We also mailed you a notice describing the next steps in the process. Please follow any instructions on this notice. Our review should be completed within 30 days. US Citizenship General Discussion	CRBA Documents...	CATHYloves RICK, Of course it is okay, I will be happy to help you anyway I can. As for a time line it depends on the labortory you choose. I used one on the list the USEM gave my fiance. I called as soon as they opened the morning after the USEM requested it. That was a friday morning. The laborotory set an appointment for my colloection at a clinic close to my home for Monday morning. They sent a collection kit to the USEM via FedEx that Friday morning and sent me the tracking number. The USEM recieved it Monday morning. The USEM called my fiance on Thursday to set appointment. They scheduled the appointment for Feb 5th. The USEM will send the sample back to the lab via FedEx. The lab told me once they have the samples they will have the results within three days. They will then send a copy of the results to the USEM via FedEx and a copy to me. Not sure how long after that it will be for the USEM to issue the CRBA and passport. I will keep you updated on that. US Citizenship General Discussion	CRBA Documents...	Yes I hope you will not have to do DNA test. My fiance said the CO told her they usually request if the child is born out of wedlock. She said if we had evidence that we were living together like both our names on a lease they would accept that. All our other paper work was in order. I signed the birth certificate at birth and my son even has my name, he is a Jr. They still requested DNA. It is 650.00 USD. It is generally 799.00 USD but the lab said they were running a special so the total cost was 650.00 USD. Anyway just so you don't get delayed after your K-1 interview, make sure this is done prior. They will not release your passport and visa until the CRBA is complete. US Citizenship General Discussion	CRBA Documents...	Hi CATHYlovesRICK, My fiance and I are going through the CRBA process right now. I am the USC and filled out the required documents DS-2029 (Application for Consular Report of Birth Abroad of a Citizen of The United States of America) had them notarized and sent them to my fiance in Manila. Make sure you also fill out a DS-11 (Application for U.S. Passport) and also DS-3053 (Statement of Consent or Special Circumstances). The DS-3053 will need to be notarized. Make sure the USC fills these forms out along with a notarized DS-5507 (Affidavit of Parentage, Physical Presence and Support) this form will need to be notarized on page 3 and 4. When done you should have a total of 4 notary stamps. Also make sure every document sent including supporting documents are originals. Be prepared to be asked to have DNA test. This seems to be pretty standard for children born out of wedlock. When asked I immediately went to the link provided for accredited laboratories. The cost is 650.00 and they will expedite all forms and collection kits for no additional charge. The whole process should take less than two weeks. Hope this helps.
