Philippinesvisa received today

Milagros received hers too... She's kind of upset that she can't open the package..

I don't know this or not, but it looks like her passport is inside plastic along with a brown envelope. You have to leave that all alone right? I told her just to leave it be.. She wants to see her passport.. Can she remove the plastic or does that also open the envelope?

PhilippinesThank You VJ, we passed Today!!

Thanks folks!!

Cathy....check with bainbridge558 (Mark), he had his petition lost between USCIS/NVC for over a month. Same as you, both USCIS and NVC denied that they had it.....NVC said they never received it and USCIS said it was sent... I think he eventually contacted his congressman and his petition magically appeared at USCIS....

Thanks for all the help johnny, you've been one of the nicest with me here in answering all my questions, even some kind a idiot nor common sense..I'll just stop bragging my Fiance about it,I'm getting tired..If he wants to wait forever ..let it be! :( I need a break too...Thanks anyway for the help

We passed our interview and are waiting visa delivery. We are so thankful to God and also to those that replied to our questions. :)

Our interview at the desk was only 5 minutes or less. I think he asked us about four questions. The hard part for us I think was all the waiting for each step for our number to be called. But we are just waiting our visa so we can fly to the US for our wedding. :)

PhilippinesDevistation

I am at a complete loss for words. Last week my baby started catching a cold. She just didn't feel good and was running a temperature. She got some flu type meds from the pharmacy and felt a little better Sunday. She felt bad on Monday and her fever was back so she went to the doctor. He told her she has PTB :crying: As far as she knows she'd never been exposed, no family members with it and has always been healthy. Out of the blue, here's this 2 weeks before her interview :(

She was flying to Manila on the 3rd (5 days from now) to get started on her medical then her interview date is May 18th. What do we do? I'm so lost right now I don't know what to do. I just can't believe this. :crying:

Sorry to hear about that,Hope that you will not be stuck in the dreadful "SPUTUM TEST"...I will pray that she will be ok and well soon...

PhilippinesShould we call USCIS???

Same happened to us. And they didn't volunteer that it was in AP. They just kept saying, "no it hasn't left yet." Then I read on VJ in "stuck in AP post" and learned to ask "Is it in Additional Processing?" Sure enough that was the right question. The operators can only tell you scripted lines....like: "Yes we have your petition" or "Yes/No it has/hasn't shipped." They can tell you case number if assigned and they can tell you if you're in AP. They can't tell you anything else because they don't really know case status beyond their computer screens. I called them EVERY day for over 2 weeks, mainly because they seem to change stories quite a bit. One day I call and we are in AP, next day we are not in AP...next day we are being sent to the embassy this week, next day we are still in AP.....and they always say call back in a week...and I always reply jokingly that you'll hear from me again tomorrow.... :bonk: It's a roller coaster ride without a stop. They are very nice and seem to have good attitudes, they just can only give out limited info.

the next time we call we will ask again if we are IN AP maybe they will tell us some kinda clear answer coz the first time they said NO!!!I just hope they already got out papers and send it to Manila :bonk:

this happened to me and Pam .....call the NVC they probably have you under admistrative review ....they never told me that it was like that until I asked them straight out....NVC held it for 3 weeks ....god bless and good luck!!

You mean they also said that your case is in USCIS still even you already have MNL case number???I will try to calm down, relax and rest my mind like what my dear darling said.I just can't help it sometimes to worry about the delay, especially with all the strange things that had happened to our case. :(

PhilippinesShould we call USCIS???

I think you should call US embassy manila and try to schedule your interview. I did that after 3 days when my fiance was able to get my MNL number. At first US embassy told me that the physical documents are not with them, they told me to call after a week. At exactly one week I was able to get an appointment.

we have done this also but no luck after 2 weeks of having our MNL case no.still NVC says it still in USCIS and of course as expected the answer of Embassy here is we do not have it still mam electronically and the actual papers...This is ridiculous... Where on earth did USCIS send our papers... :bonk:

Our Reaffirmed NOA2(approval Notice)is dated april 6,telling us they forward our case back again in the NVC..Now why is it that for the last 2 weeks of calling NVC they keep on telling us that our papers is still in USCIS.My fiance(USC)called the NVC last april 12 and get our manila case number already..They why they don't have our papers and they were able to provide us Case Number???We also keep on emailing and calling Embassy but still our papers are still not there..Where are our papers now??I don't wanna be negative, but when i read so many post here in VJ about lost petition between USCIS and NVC i get so scared and mad...Should we call USCIS?Anyone who knows the direct line and not the ones that will only be answered by call center agents..

Yes. That is the idea of the meeting. He can choose the date & time. Living in S F will help because USCIS will have an office there. Google USCIS San Francisco & you will see all the info needed including a link to Info Pass.

The USCIS office that serves your area is the: San Francisco Field Office.

This office is located at:

444 Washington Street

San Francisco, CA 94111.

THANKS A LOT Ning,i'll keep you posted and i will not hesitate to ask again about this infopass thing if i have some questions..hope you'll be patient enough with all...

My wife and I made an infopass appointment with USCIS. We went to USCIS a couple of days later for our appointment and the officer answered our questions. It was easy. I'm sure that there is a USCIS in San Francisco, so your fiancé will have no problem.

Also, I agree with getting all three of your fiancé's congresspeople involved. Just because they have no authority nor jurisdiction over the USCIS does not mean that they can not help. It does not matter if your fiancé has voted or not.

Of course I KNOW they can help!!!Johnny feed me all the INFO about all this congresspersons office,If only i can be the one who can do it or my 1 yr old US citizen baby..LOL(just kidding)Even one of my Friend in US offered me a help she said i can do a letter and fill up the forms for you,I said its impossible coz all the info they need is about my fiance!

PLEASE GIVE ME A LITTLE HOPE THAT AN INFOPASS CAN BE A HELP IN OUR CASE??? :( ven if it will take months its ok!!My only consolation is that My fiance will be with us for 2 weeks this june...YAY for that!

The reason is far more than that, and Thank You for all the helpful advices..Like what i said I RESPECT MY FIANCE so much and we are working together, and not against each other so it can't be that one wants an INFOPASS and me want him contacting a politicians office! But I PRAY and HOPE that doing an INFOPASS alone can be a help in our case..Plus hope it will not take 6 months...LOL!

I know that many people have reasons for not wanting to contact their local politicians.

This is definitely my point, the past days i will say we have tons of arguments and misunderstanding about this issue, contacting a politician. My fiance is a very GOOD taxpayer but he NEVER EVER vote in any election not once in his life..at first its so hard to understand it but I DO UNDERSTAND him now!Plus I Think our problem is not in NVC its USCIS,coz they are the one who did approved our case again and send us a noticed that they sent it already to NVC!Thank you for the well wishes and Good luck!We always have faith and i know this will all come to an END!God bless you!!!

PhilippinesWhere are our Papers???

Manila embassy don't have our case yet:(,I just made an inquiry last may 10 and this is what it says
Records indicate that on December 31, 2009, NVC returned the visa petition to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) office in Laguna Niguel, California. As the case is no longer under the State Department’s jurisdiction, future inquiries should be directed to the USCIS National Customer Service Center by telephone at 1-800-375-5283.

Hmmmm. If the case was returned to USCIS, looks like youo got a denial from the NVC. I would think that you would have received a notice from USCIS or even the NVC on the reason for the denial. I agree that at this point, contacting a politician is not a bad idea. I know that many people have reasons for not wanting to contact their local politicians. I have a good friend who waited almost 18 months for his wife/daughter's paperwork. He kept getting the same BS from the NVC. Once he contacted his Senator, he had an approval within 4 days. So it does work. Good luck on resolving this, and I hope everything works out for you!

Hello,Yes our case was returned last jan 6 by NVC to USCIS,We had an RFE dated mar 8 and my fiancé complete the part C of the K1 form.

On march 10 we send it back to USCIS,the RFE!We recived 2 noticed last April 6,we are Re affirmed it means it is Approved again this is what it exactly states in our status in their website.

On April 6, 2010, we mailed a notice to you reaffirming the approval of this case and returned the case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly.

But what the hell up to now NVC still have the same line we do not have your case in our records yet it has been returned in USCIS,but how come they gave us MNL case number last april 6 and they didn't received our case again from USCIS... :bonk: Its like isn't that they will only provide you a manila case number once they got the approved petition from USCIS??!!!

The other Noticed that my fiance received from USCIS last april 6 states this exactly..which i cannot understand, since NVC is the only one who have the right to forward the case to manila embassy and now what the hell is that letter.. :bonk:

"The above petition has been listed and forwarded to the listed. Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance,or if you would like them to forward the petition to a different consulate."

PhilippinesWhere are our Papers???

I think he will see that an Info Pass meeting will produce results. He will be talking directly to a USCIS officer. If they can not answer the question they will have a supervisor answer the question. The answer will be given right there if they can, based on what they see when they pull up the case history on the computer. The least that will happen is they will track down the case & expose the actual problem. This will not take 6 months.
To make the appointment go to the USCIS site & find the link. I think its on the lower left side. Easy to find & easy to set the appointment. The actual meeting will not take more than 30 minutes.

If my Fiance will make an appointment can he choose the date?and he is living in San Francisco CA will the office he have to go far from his place?

My fiance told me there is no chance he will do contacting any congressman or senator's office..For so many reasons plus we have so many arguments over and over again about it but i will not elaborate it.as a WIFE to him i will agree in just doing an INFOPASS...As his better half i respect him so much.He decide to just take a break from work and visit us for 2 weeks..YAY!!!But i would like to know how an INFOPASS work.how many months will it take before we get an answer? As long as its not 6 months to a year i will not go crazy..LOL!!!

PhilippinesWhere are our Papers???

Waiting without knowing is no fun. We were caught in the 2007 delays and Document Verification fiasco. I learned a few things fighting the delays.

From my experience I would definately write your congressperson and senator. The reason for contacting more than one Congressional rep is the speed and effort can be amazingly different. Include your case number and MNL Case number in your letter.

Before writing the Congressional reps I would suggest calling NVC one more time. Have your fiance ask about your case. When they tell him it is not on record then have your fiance ask the NVC CSR why you were given an MNL case number on April 12th? We he gets a poor answer (or the runaround) ask for a supervisor who can actually answer the question? The CSR will try to avoid putting on a supervisor, but stand firm and request one. Put all the information received from NVC into your Congressional inquiry letter.

Also, if your fiance has received a letter from NVC then contact the Manila Embassy to see if they have your case.

After my Fiance have been calling NVC so many times he also send an inquiry to NVC and this is their reply

Dear Sir/Madam:

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

The petition has been returned to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS-formerly known as INS). Any further inquiries should be directed to CIS.

PhilippinesWhere are our Papers???

There are dozens of cases here on VJ where a simple call and a filled out privacy form to a congressman helped those members go from EXACTLY what Cathy is experiencing to having a case being forwarded to the embassy within days of congressional inquiry. These two posts come to mind, but there are many others on VJ where the congressman actually was able to shake a petition loose from some lazy federal worker's desk. I worked in the Pentagon for 12 years and let me tell you, anytime we would get a "congressional" (letter from a congressman), we dropped everything and responded because we have to respond within 3 days. We get a letter from Joe Q Public and of course the response time is not so urgent.

http://www.visajourn.../page__st__2895

http://www.visajourn...s/page__st__225

An INFO PASS appointment will take off another month or two of time and the likely response will be to just wait until they are finish with their review and....you have to go down to your local USCIS for the appointment. Almost a waste of time in my book because you're asking an agency to check up on itself without any urgency of a higher power overseeing their actions. Get a congressman involved, it's just a simple letter and a request for status. It's a free service to US Taxpayers and it's their job. That's why we vote them in office.

Cathy: Your USC fiance can send the privacy form to Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi from the link I sent you. It's really very painless and costs nothing to do. And chances are pretty good that within a week you will have an answer. This is an election year as well, so staffers are working a little harder for constituents. Good Luck.

I've been talking to you quite about this johnny and thank you that you are one of the most helpful to me who's ready to answer all my questions. After i send all this link to him its up to him if he will believe or not with all what I am saying.
