US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionInterview less than one month! Medical exam

My fianceé suffers from hyperthyroidism.  When she has her medical exams done, Im sure they will include this.  Should this in anyway affect the decision of the consulate to grant or deny the visa?

No, hyperthyroidism is definitely what USCIS would care about so don't worry. Hyperthyroidism is popular (especially among women) and it never  spreads. It is not a problem for immigration process.

I am freaking out now. I already submitted my application. I didn't think of school clubs when answering that question so I didn't mention them. Will it be a problem to me ? Should I fix it now ? some people say I can correct them in the interview. Do you think if I should correct them now or correct them at the interview ?

Can I ask when you had the interview ? I had my interview back in Dec 2, but my status has not changed since then. It's still at testing and interview. I got the recommended for approval notice and was told to wait to receive my oath letter within 30 days.

US Citizenship General DiscussionN-400 form - How do you handle being rehired in Employment History?

I agree, I would do twice putting both periods. Don't think too much as if they have any questions, they will ask and you have a chance to explain that during the interview.

Mine was in San Jose. It took exactly 1 hour only. They just required the oath letter and green card. That's it.

US Citizenship General DiscussionCitizenship

This might seem like a strange question to some and I'm not knocking your decision, but I have noticed that most people on VJ see gaining US citizenship as something of a certainty

My question is why?

I know as a citizen you can vote, but the system is broken so that doesn't really appeal to me

You can commit a felony without being deported, but again as I'm not a criminal that isn't important

So the only other benefit I can see is you remove the need to deal with the USCIS every ten years

I'm not American, I never will be and I am proud of where I come from

But why is it that most people seem to consider it as an inevitable part of the migration process

for some of the jobs (like my bro's which is dealing with sensitive data), they require US citizenship.

US Citizenship General DiscussionN-400 - SEPTEMBER 2013 FILERS

It took around 4.5 months from the day I sent out my package with USPS to my oath ceremony today. The ceremony's whole process lasted exactly 1 hour. The speeches were short but absolutely meaningful. All the officers there were very nice.

I would like to thank to the San Jose USCIS whose employees are very nice, friendly and productive. From my AOS to citizenship, everything has been processed in a timely manner. I also want to thank this forum, I have gotten a lot of helpful information from here.

Best lucks for all of you.

My letter says to report promptly at 9:15 am. IS that when they start checking people in or when they start the ceremony? Should I be there ahead of time? Also, I see that I need to fill out and sign the back of the letter. Do I do it ahead of time or when I get to the interview? Do I need to sign in front of an immigration officer? Thanks.

I had the same questions and I found this.

I asked this question before. that sometimes delays or maybe never is updated. Don't worry. In my case, I had to wait 3 weeks after the interview and then it went straight from testing and interview to oath ceremony. So, I guess if you're are waiting for a few weeks then they're probably in process of scheduling you for the oath not putting you in the line which is good. Again that's just my guess.

Thanks for your information. yeah, I guess I should contact them. The interviewer told me I would get the oath letter within 30 days. Today, It has been 17 days already. We just received a letter from USCIS today. Asking for Form 1722 from IRS. I guess when we sent the N-400 our W-2 and copy of 1040 were not enough for them. I don't like to pay a tax professional to prepare our taxes when we can do it our self. I just got done requesting transcript of tax form for the last 3 years from IRS which will take 5 to 10 days to get in the mail. I just hope this is the right tax information USCIS needs at the interview. We are still in line for interview scheduling since October 14. We can't wait for all this to be over with the government it has been over 5 years with all the processes

Yes, at the interview if they ask for tax record, IRS tax transcript is the recommended document. My interviewer asked for the tax transcript for the last 3 years.
