Singapore Certificate of Clearance

Don't they grant you when you simply ask it? You need a letter from someone requesting a declaration?

NVC never sent me a list of documents. They asked me to refer to WWW.travel.state.gov

Singapore Police Force does not issue Clearance Certificate any more.
Those who require the certificate have to make an appeal to them and provided that appeal is approved, only then can request a certificate but to make that appeal and to request the certificate, a letter from respective authority such as NVC or Embassy is required. Singapore Police Force will not entertain any appeal or requests without that letter.

Singapore Certificate of Clearance

I am looking for a sample Certificate of Clearance or Certificate of No Criminal Conviction from Singapore.
If anyone here has a copy, would you be kind enough to attach one for me?

If I wait for NVC to issue a checklist or send a letter to request the above mentioned certificate, it will delay the whole process at NVC for about 2 months.
I am wondering if I really need a letter from NVC or embassy or can I (maybe) send a request letter from my employer asking for a Certificate of Clearance?
Just confused that if I get it that way, it will be faster but the Singapore Police just might mention in certificate that it is for employer and not for immigration.

Co-Sponsor Question

Hello netizens of VJ,
I hope you are well.
Even though my wife is making more than what is required as per poverty guidelines for 2012, I have arranged for Co-Sponsor just as a backup.
My friend has agreed to send me the required paperwork for this purpose however there is one confusion. As many of you know how the mail (post) is in the U.S.A and considering the possibility of the confidential paperwork getting lost somewhere in the way, my friend has asked if he could just complete, sign the I-864 and scan it to me along with rest of the papers like (copies of pay stubs and etc) instead of sending it by mail?

So, the question of the day is ... does anyone know if the Consulate Officer may accept the scanned copies or will he/she ask particularly for an original signed paperwork?
As always, your valuable answers will be much appreciated.

Stick to the example forms that are provided do not experiment with adding additional information that could complicate your immigration process.

Many people who come to USA do not end up in the same line of work as they have education for or previous work experiance. I know a few engineers who drive Taxi's and work at Gas stations... now if you can find a title for that then go for it. But if you do not know what you will be doing here then dont put anything. Unless you are skilled with a special trait such as a Doctor or Lawyer and have committed to passing the required examination to become certified. That is the main purpose of this question, to determin if the qualifications abroad are accepted as licensed qualifications in USA. Majority of them are not.

I have received my NOA1 on July 5 2011. One and half year passed, my case is still in initial review. When my wife meet the ISO face in face, he said there is still no one have seen my case.

Ask your wife to contact her Congressman or Senator regarding this. Tell them that your petition has not even been touched in one and half a year and they can send in an inquiry. Also, You can call the Service Center and ask for a Service Request.

Blue Slip IR-1 Interview - Pakistan Divorce Docs Needed

Salam to all,

I am also in similar situation and so much confused. My wife is USC and she took divorce from her first husband by the way of Khula.

I went to my interview about 4 months ago and officer handed me blue slip and asked me to send us your wife's first Orignal nikahnama from previous marriage, Court certificate in english and Official Union council certificate in urdu with English translation.

now So far i have obtain her previous Nikahnama(Orignal) which took almost 3 months (from her husband), court order in English and union council Bilingual certificate.....Now i am confused that if i need to obtain a urdu one from Nadra as Sohail 10 or sbokhari did. In fact i went UC but they refused to offer such service and said we have given you a bilangual one and that should be enough. Now i dont know what i am supposed to do.....please help me as my case is hanging from a longtime.

Also i am wondering since i am send her previous orignal Nika nama in urdu, would they need english translation for that? PLZ help

Brother, You are living in Pakistan.
When it comes to UC and government department like this, even if you have all the required papers and you have the legal right to get the document you need, you will not get it because you still have not provided them the "required paper". Remember the founder of Pakistan?

Qualified Joint Sponsor

Your understanding is incorrect. A joint sponsor must qualify based on their own household size plus the intending immigrant. Do not include the petitioner in the joint sponsor's household size. Only household members can combine income. For example if the joint sponsor's spouse has an income, they can combine their income to qualify.

My wife (the petitioner) is in North Carolina and the Joint Sponsor is in California. So in other words, if the joint sponsor has a total household size of 5 (including the principal immigrant) and he/she did not make $33,762 (required income for 5 people), the joint sponsor will not qualify?
Joint Sponsor's annual income is around $1000 short ... Do they leave any room for compassion and consideration?
And since the petitioner and sponsor are not in same household, their income will not be considered as combined?

Qualified Joint Sponsor

my understanding of the AOS and joint sponsors is that it is a combined of petitioner and joint sponsor tax returns to show above the 125% poverty level.
co sponsor is someone who will make help to you if need be.
just like me, just in case i need a new AOS i have a co sponsor ready just in case because my tax return last yr only showed about $15,000.00 for the yr 2012 and i have some savings but my co sponsor if needed has over $30,000.00 for his tax return.
they want to make sure that if the person comes, there will be enough resources available for them to live off of instead of living off the government.

i hope this helps and others will correct if i am wrong.

i looked in USCSI website and i stil find only this.

Qualified Joint Sponsor

Greetings,
I had my interview at U.S Embassy, Islamabad on March 20, 2013 and was given a blue sheet under act 221(g) which states that I need to submit the Affidavit of Support (I-864) and supporting documents from a qualified Joint Sponsor.
Back in 2011, my wife was still studying and was only working part-time so did not have enough income.
in June, 2012 she started working and as her tax refund papers show, her annual income is around $10,462 (for 7 months) as it has not been a year since she started working.
The Consul Officer refused to consider the pay stubs from 2012 and only concentrated on the tax refunds from 2011 in which the income was of course not sufficient.

Now, it is definitely not easy to find a Joint Sponsor. The only person who wants to help has made $32,700 as shown on his 2012 tax returns (less than what is required for a household of 5 people). He has claimed 3 dependents for the recent year so including himself and me, it makes a total of 5 people in the household for which the required income is $33,762.

My question is, how do they (the consul officer) look at joint sponsor papers?
Does the joint sponsor need to meet exactly 125% of the poverty guidelines requirement or is the combined income of primary sponsor (the petitioner) and the joint sponsor is considered?

Police Clearance Certificate in IV package to NVC Office

This is just an educated guess, so please don't rely on this and CONFIRM it by calling NVC, but, I believe you can submit your IV package without the PCC. They will either approve it and ask you to bring the PCC at the interview, or, they will issue you an RFE asking for the PCC, which then you can use the RFE letter to request the PCC from the passport office as it will be on official NVC letterhead and have both petitioner and beneficiary's name on it.

I can obtain PCC from Lahore, Pakistan no problem because they do not require any interview letter and it takes 7 days to get it.
However, I did read somewhere that NVC needs two PCC (One from local Police Office and one from Passport Office). Is it true?

Also, I have lived in Singapore for nearly 7 years and I will need to obtain a PCC from Singapore as well. I wrote to them and they replied that they also need a letter from some authority or office who asked for PCC. Will I have to wait till I get any e-mail or instructions from NVC asking for PCC and then send a copy of that to Singapore Police along with the application form?

wanna confirm original documents for NVC to be sent again

We set our nikah which was done at the local Masjid and it was stamped and signed by the issuing autorities there... and we sent our translation in enlgish again stamped by the ppl that did it.. and we took our nikah to NADRA had it registered and once we had it we took all the documents, everything that my husband had in hand to the foreign ministry affairs and had copies of everything made and they stamped all the copies and attested they were copies of the originals. We kept the copies for back ups and sent in all the other things including our original nikah original translation in english and original NADRA certificates.

my Nikkah in URDU was stammped by Masjid and the registrar union council and then by notary and foriegn affairs while the english is the exact translation of the urdu one and attest by translator and notary foriegn affairs doesnt this suffice, another thing I hav ejust raised the request in NADRA for my borth certificate and nikkah registration once I wil get then do i need to stamped it from any authority again or not.

Hi guy, I read all the instruction on the website as I said when I called NVC ; they told me the birth certificate and the marriage certifucate is not from th eissuing authority I really do not what did they mean with it...I am now prepared with new DS 230 with my original sign on page 1 (as DS 230 item no 30 was incorrect as per NVC), my original police certificate; my original nikkah nama in URDU (attested by union council and notary pulic), Translation version of Marriage certificate (attested by the translator and foriegn affairs, notary pulic), original Birth Certificate (attested by Karachi metropolitan corporation, notary public foreign affairs), 4 passport photographs (2x2), boigraphic data of passport.Also I have attached the barcode sheet ATTN. to DR plus photocopies of all the documents with my NVC case number on every documents.

Anything else remaning at my end please let me know if ther is any attestation left on my side, does this Union council attestation (registrar) on marriage certificate is the issuing authority like for birth certificate Karachi metropolitan is the issuing authority doesnt this work then did they say not attested from issuing authority.

Please guide me if anyone of you can...

It may not take a month to arrange the interview. Our case was complete at NVC the first week of MAy and we got our interview scheduled and our letter on May 17th so give them a couple of weeks and you may very well see your interview scheduled by then. Good luck

Interview date to be assigned

Dear Friends,

As you all know that my case in NVC has been completed last week on June 15th, 2012. Upon calling NVC, the operator said they would take more days to provide me my interview date and they asked me to call them by Juny 15th, 2012 to inquire about the interview date, how come they take a month just to arrange an interview or they are just saying it for the sake of not calling them. this means 30 days to enquire and then further after 30 days of interview date..thats not fair..I want to go before my wedding anniversary

Any experience how many days does NVC take to give me the interview date i have heared in 15days of completion of case of NVC they give interview date?? please share your experience for the days in between the interview and case completion...

urdu nikkah nama at nvc

For us the nikah was a requirement at the NVC stage. For other consulates you may only need it at the embassy stage. Either way you need it at some point. Try going to the pakistan forum and posting. good luck

Dear Brother, I just had my NVC case completed my RFE (Query) was about to submit the original urdu nikah nama...so you must submit the original with nadra one...you can get your nikkah nama ammended as per your date of birth or try to get some corretive actions because date of birth is ocnsidered as a sign or recognition of person in NVC so you must submit it.

Opinion about visit visa while on CR-1 Process

I do not want to disaapoint you but honestly it is immposible nearly and you would be denied..my coulleagues were in family immigration in Pakistan and they had multiple visa when they went for the renewal of the multiple visa it was denied because they were already in immigration process and they might take 10 years as a family based immigration still they didnt get it...knowing the fact they all are working for US based multinational company with lots of other countries and US traveling exit entry...still ther were denied...

No, you dont need any certificate from union council. your translated copy at least specify the name of the person and statement like this that translation is best to my knowledge.

Usually, translation is done by notary public shop in pakistan, and they specify it at the end.

As you mentioned that your lawyer submitted the photocopies which is not good thing. Now you need to submit your original nikkah nama, translation of nikkah nama, original birth certificate, if birth certificate was in urdu then you need to provide translation of it too . You also need to submit the photocopies of all your original documents too. and photocopies of the biographic page of passport.

last but not least, two passport size of beneficiary's picture.

If you have submitted original documents earlier then you only need to submit DS-230.
Part I needs your signature, and please don't sign Part II.

You may also include cover letter and specify what happen with your previous submission.
Once you done with it, mail your envelop to the address NVC asking. like ATTN to DR etc..

Your husband also need to get with lawyer and ask him what does it mean. He may also call to NVC and ask more details about this checklist.

To be honest with you, immigration process is not that difficult if you are on visa journey forum. Hiring lawyer means spending extra bucks.

I need an Urgent response; I have been updated by NVC that Affidavit of support package has been reviewd and completed when I asked them about DS230 they said its under review but today morning I got an email from NVC stating that the form should be down load and submitted along with Civil documnets; (here I want to mention you all that my husband lawyer just submitted DS230 withour original documents)but the address provided where the documents should be submitted to ATTN to DR. I need your quick responses :

What does this mean; does it mean that my docs missing and now they are asking or the email is not to be considered

Hi, SZ thanks for the reply but you had "URDU" nikah nama as well I do not have one in URDU. I only have ENGLISH FORM # 2 This is exact form which is in URDU as well. Please understand that I only have it in ENGLISH, and this is already registered in Pakistan that we are legally married anyone can check it.....

Dear I can understand your point but there should be nikkah in URDU as well, in my point of view this RFE is only because of urdu nikkah is missing, you are right that form in english is registered even though mine was also registered but unfortunately they want to see in local language as well. This was said by NVC representative when my RFE came. I am not sure about Nadra one marriage certificate I had it as well but I dodnt submit I left it purposely for my interview and eventually the URDU one was accepted. in my friend's case they just saw urdu nikkahnama and even though they didnt ask for translation Which amazed me too.

Hi dear, my RFE was exactly same, they send such queries if you didnt submit your URDU NIKKAH NAMAH, when i spoke to NVC they guided me to send the local language nikkahnama and in eglish translation because my nikkah was already in english (and urdu too) but that time I thought if the nikkah has been in english already then it should be sufficient but eventually it wasnt. so make sure you submit your urdu nikkah nama as well.

moreover, i have certified my marriage from nadra whuich i didnt submit and having it for my interview incase they want to see.

Started working on consular process

I dont know how true this is, but one of the things that I have heard a few times is the immigration considers; education and career of the beneficiary an important aspect of the immigration process. I have 3 brother in laws, two of whom are Dr's they had no issue with the AP process another who is an engineer whom also had no AP time either.

AP Case status

Hello everybody today i called NVC to ask about my AP Case status, i got a little shocking news, my interview was held on November 1st, 2012. The NVC officer told me that we dont have your case here, its in your local embassy (US Embassy Islamabad). So you should call islamabad, so now i m curious whether they not send my case yet even after 1 month and 10 days, Or Islamabad embassy doing confirmation on their own end... please need help and expert opinion

Yeah i m quite sure about the paper work, these are the words of counselor officer "ok all we are done here with your documents, i need nothing else from you. I am putting administrative process which is mandatory for the immigrant visas. This green paper (221(g) explanation) will let you understand everything. So we will let you know. It might take to three to six months". Humm but the embassy is full of uncertainties. I m hopping for good news. I want to go to my wife :-(
