USCIS Service Centersprocessing times
While browsing and reading the forums I remember a senior member saying that once USCIS actually adjudicates your petition, it only takes few hours to 3 days. The long wait which kills us is the time taken for the petition to reach adjudicator's desk.
So I will agree with tweety on this one point. Get more people, assign them different categories. Just like adding more RAM to a computer or getting a dual core processor with ability to handle more processes at a time. That should help to reduce backlogs and in the long run everyone will have less waiting and separation time. Not saying they should give priority to recent filers but one backlog leads to another.
Only the U.S. Citizens or legal permanent residents are eligible to file a petition for fiance/fiancee, spouse or relatives. I believe all of you pay your state and federal taxes. Do you still deserve to be treated this way and be forced to undergo the long painful separation? Don't mark one person as selfish. He or she only talked about a flaw in the system and proposed a suggestion to improve it. Nothing wrong with that. Just because we cannot do anything about a flawed system does not mean we start bashing the one who pointed out that flaw. Remember, opinions are like a.. holes and everyone has one. Cheers!

USCIS Service CentersCSC expedite question
Contacting CSC or their National Service Center is pointless. My wife called and requested first expedite for I-130 on 20 March 2012 on humanitarian grounds. We were told that they ask to fax the evidence to them but it never happened. On 22 March CSC-USCIS sent an e-mail stating that after carefully reviewing the expedite it was denied because it did not meet the guidelines.
On 24 March another expedite request was sent by calling them. The tier 2 officer told my wife that she will be asked for evidence and we were prepared with evidence. Once again it was never asked and request was denied with same reason. Only difference this time was that denial came by post.
I suppose they simply do not want to entertain any requests to begin with as they never gave any chance to send any evidence. Now nothing left except writing to DHS Ombudsman and maybe contacting Congressman.
Knock every door, catch at any straw. If it works consider yourself lucky and if it does not, it is worth a try because you are already drowning.

im sure you can give me some options how they got into the country (that isn't political).

You are free to think what you want :)
I will keep my opinion to myself.

USCIS Service CentersCalling USCIS
There is definitely no FIFO (First In, First Out) with USCIS.
I see people from 17 January 2012 getting approved and according to USCIS website, the last update on my case was 01/06/2012 which means they have not even touched it ever since.
Let's just suppose my case was more complicated than others but still it would show a change in last update date if they had even looked into it. Anyway, just going to wait till 3 June 2012 and then going to call USCIS. If they don't give any satisfactory answer then going to write to Senator or Ombudsman.
Number to call USCIS: 1-800-375-5283 and I guess after that it is 1-1-2-2-2 (This was given by another VJ member who called USCIS to change address but this will get you to a live person instead of a voice recording and then you can ask the question you desire).

USCIS Service Centers5 marks the spot

I'm hoping we don't get the typical response to our service requests stating that we will have a decision in the next 60 days which really sucks since we've been waiting all this time. Let's pray we just get our NOA 2's within the next week or two :)

My wife did a Service Request on 15 June 2012, which was replied on 28 June 2012.
Response was typical and generic "Your case is being adjudicated and you shall receive a Notice of Action within 45 days". Same reply to congressional inquiry on 6 June 2012.
Good luck to all of us who are waiting.

USCIS Service Centers5 marks the spot

I called today ad filed the service request. I guess that means that anyone who filed December 16th - January14th with a case at CSC and has not recieved an NOA2 can call today.

Thanks for the update. My wife called and was able to generate a Service Request today as CSC has updated their processing times. It still shows 5 months and we are past that 5 months mark with a priority date of 3 January 2012.

USCIS Service Centers5 marks the spot

I had the same thing happen to me. I called yesterday at 5months and they said call tomorrow. SO I called today and they said they could not file a request because they were processing December 16th. The rep told me to call back in 30 days.

Can I escalate to tier2? I will be in China in 30 days.

Tier 2 will give you same answer. My wife called on 4 June and talked to a Tier 2, received same answer. "We are currently processing petitions from December 16, 2011, call again after 30 days".

USCIS Service CentersNOTIFICATION from CA USCIS after 6 months...
Did a Service Request on 15 June 2012 and got same response. Have not heard anything till now.
Also contacted Congressman on 4 June 2012. They replied that the petition is with an immigration officer and is currently under review. Should receive a notice of action within 30-45 days. Nothing so far. It will be 45 days on 23 July so let's see what happens.
Note: Contacting Congressman does not really ensure that you will get your NOA2 in any form. At least it did not really work in my case as of yet.

USCIS Service CentersVSC

the information on the uscis website was updated yesterday. and it says that VSC is still on that 5 month time frame is that true. they seem super slow.. California is already in march..

California Service Center is not fast either. My case is with CSC with a priority date of 3 Jan 2012. Information on website still says they are processing the petitions within 5 months. It does not really matter which service center has your petition, you just need to be lucky and unfortunately we are not among the lucky bunch Posted Image
