Were you able to reach the embassy?? If not I would call the Department of State right away!

I would agree, it seems like the USCIS has re-affirmed your petition and sent it back to the consulate... going from a CR1 to an IR1 IS A GOOD THING, it means you will not be given a 2 year conditional green card, it will be a 10 year green card

Thank you so much , pray for me, i will try to call them today... inshaallah

Was your case after interview sent back for denial? USCIS then reaffirmed it? is that what happened? Might need a little more info about your case for ppl to be able to help more because your timeline only indicates you had interview and admin review..

Firstly i was put on AP after interview i was called twice for interview and after they send my case back, and after it the uscis said that we got ur case back & said that when u take a decision we will notify you, and now finally they update the status now , now i don't know wat does it mean...

Today i checked the status of my case at USCIS after denial and they said that:-

On September 20, 2011, the appropriate American Consulate or port of entry was notified of the approval of this case. Please contact them directly if you need more information.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

Yes it took more then a year crying.gif because I was waiting to become a US citizen for 12 years crying.gif (they couldn't locate my A file for the longest time from when I first came into the country, I was 1 month old) and they did 5 months of secruity checks on me!!! Also I believe getting married to my hubby while I was in this process delayed me getting my citizenship. During my final interview most of the questions were about him and not me necessary.....It the whole Muslim thing that has people scared and sometimes I get sad about that!!! And then finally on July 2007 I became a US citizen kicking.gif and we upgraded...when we upgraded it was only suppose to take additional 3 or 4 months but it took 9 months because they did 3 months Secruity checks on my husband at USCIS... So this Journey has been a very long one for us Tammy....
Thank GOD it's almost over for us and this only made our relationship stronger and full of more and more patience!! Everything happens for a reason and it's GOD will, and this journey was our way of getting more patience in both my husband and I lives....Now we are ready to have a family laughing.gif

Is this true? It took more than 1 year to issue NOA2?

It seems like most if not all of the stories i have read about AP are women(USC) waiting on husbands.
I'm just curious how many women get put into AP? And whats up with that?!
Maybe im way off base and just havent noticed that alot of wives get AP...

Hi everyone.

My wife had her interview on 14th of october at Islamabad. She was given a green paper with a purple sticker on her passport and she was told that the embassy need to complete some work on her file and it will take from 4 - 8 weeks. They also told her that they will call to send in the passport after they complete the work on her file.

there is no number on the green form.
S_AL_ I think your interview experience was almost similar to my wife. Do you have any form number on green sheet?

Yes there is no number on the green sheet. They returned my passport too with the sticker on it and a token along with the green sheet. Said the same about the amount of time it could take. Hoping your wife gets off AP soon too.

while on AP can you call the embassy and ask them about ur case that ur AP is over or not? would they mind calling them every day or after two day and can delay ur case more?

Yes calling the Embassy in Islamabad is useless as they do not share any information nor give any updates and in return are extremely rude at times. What my husband (the petitioner) did was call DOS and there when he'd be able to speak to someone nice enough listen, they would sometimes give out a shred of information such as we have received your case from Islamabad or its currently under a name check etc.

Because your beneficiary is from Pakistan, I would advice you to check the AP section on this forum where you will find many people who have been through this or are going through this at the moment. there is also a spreadsheet there you could check and add your name to it to track it. AP is like a black hole but if it is kind of mandatory now for both men and women. I hope you are out of the AP soon.

its been 40 days still waiting for visa.

interview: jan 03 2011 ISL pakistan

Sunny check the AP section on this forum, your 40 days are really early for a male from Pakistan put on AP. There is not time limit to AP so all you can do now is pray and hope that your name or travel history doesn't raise any flags. That is all you can do at this stage. I'm a female from Pakistan and I was placed on AP for more than 2 months which is actually a short time for AP.

All the best.

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)quick question about new docs after ap is complete

What docs will the embassy ask for when AP is complete? Is both medical and police good for one year? What about a new ds230 and more paystubs to show im still working? any thing would be helpful to at least know what things we should be ready to handle once they finally give us teh word our ap is complete

To make your life more difficult, they might ask for a new police certificate at the time AP is completed. I am not sure how long the medical report stays valid for but usually a police certificate expires in 3 months or so.

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)Time from Visa Issuance to Visa in Hand?

I was hoping if someone could tell me on average how long it takes to the embassy to send out the visa after DOS has stated that it has been issued & printed.

More specifically, we were told by DOS that my husband's visa has been approved, issued and printed but we haven't heard anything from the embassy yet and so we want to know how long you think it might normally take for us to get the visa or to hear anything from the embassy?

Any info you can provide is helpful...thank you

Is his passport with the Embassy or with him? Once the visa is issued and printed, the Embassy called the applicant to send their passport if the passport was returned to the applicant at the time of the interview. In the case where the embassy informs you that your visa is ready to be stamped in your passport, it usually takes about a week from the time you send in your passport through american express to the embassy to the travel file being sent back to your local american expressed to be picked up. Your husband should call the embassy the first working day and inquire about his visa especially if his paspsort is not with the embassy already. If his passport is with the embassy, he should call and ask about his visa status. Either way, it is not a bad idea to remind the embassy that you are waiting on your visa. I had received the call from the embassy on a Sunday evening about the visa being ready and that I should mail my passport to them. See if calling them helps since if they have said the visa is printed, it is ready to be stamped in the passport.

USCIS Service CentersWhat happens after Service Request?

USCIS Service CentersWhat happens after Service Request?
Hi,
A little details on the case:
I-130 petition with NOA1 received on January 3, 2012
Service Request: 28 June 2012 (Was told that I shall receive a Notice of Action within 45 days) which ends on 13 August. I still have not heard anything as of yet.
Time lapsed: 7 months and still waiting.
The representative from Congressman's office told me that if USCIS has not given any decision or anything after Service Request is over, I cannot make another Service Request. Then, as per law USCIS will have to make a decision within 3 days (after Service Request 45 days are over). I don't know how true is her knowledge but I do intend to make a call on 13th August. An inquiry was sent to CSC from Congressman's office, was replied that I shall receive a notice within 45 days. Those 45 days have long gone and still nothing so congressional inquiry did not help at all.
Question: What happens if 45 days are over (as per Service Request response) and I still have not received any kind of Notice of Action from USCIS?
Anyone with having experience with this or if anyone knows how it works?
Thank you.

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)Administrative Processing
I don't think the real purpose is Namechecks. Even if it was, it does not take that long.
Although I fear the AP myself as I am from Pakistan, my wife and I think the main purpose of months long AP is to test the patience and love between the married couple especially if there have been any red flags like previous marriages and kids or considerable age difference. They push us to limits to see if someome will give up? Unfortunately not even senator can make them move as they have this perfect excuse of mandatory AP for national security.
I really pray for you EAbbas and I do wish that your husband can be with you asap. God bless.

just dont get happy until you hear the words " case compleate- letter being sent from embassy "
dont even get happy if they say its cleared. < this is a false illusion too >. I think they told us that

I called DOS every tuesday for the past three weeks, first time it was a guy, he said he didn't know anything other than my case is pending, i asked him when they got my husbands file, he said he doesn't know...then again the next tuesday, it was barbara, she said same thing to my same questions..the finally last tuesday i called again and it was again a lady, but she didn't say her name, she was very nice, Finally! and she told me that the DOS recieved my husbands case on October 12th (his interview was Oct 6th) and that they are doing the check on him, she said it usually takes about 6 to 8 weeks and that is all they are waiting on....okay, is this a typical answer that everyone gets when they call DOS ? or does it sound promising?
