Mexico, Latin & South AmericaI'm having a baby with another woman..filing K1
OUCH!
a hit where it hurts!!

You definately wanna make sure if the baby is yours first!
Then for surely you wanna talk to your fiance and let her know what happened. I do understand you are feeling guilty and to err is human and all these promises you made to her, so for the sake of those promises make sure you tell her what happened before you marry her. Do not lift her from her home and then break her heart. And if you really have any feelings for the mother of your child, if it is your child then maybe marry her.
its probably a decision you have to make, just make sure you don't cheat anyone now.
a mistake is only considered a mistake if you don't repeat it.
you obviously cheated your fiance by getting another woman pregnant, and i doubt the pregnant one knows your engaged either, but you marrying your fiance without telling what you did will be cheating her again.
so think wisely now

Asia: SouthPakistanis...If You Had to Do it All Over Again...
I would definately do the same thing again, only a little differently.
I filed the I-130 and the the K-3.
They both were approved at the same time and didn't really make a difference. And surely since i am taking my hubby to the US i prefer the CR1 visa as he will be able to go to the US and start working carrying out his responsibility rather than being a couch potato. Was he able to get a SS and at least go to school, i wouldn't mind him taking some additional certificates but since that is not possible either on a K3, i definately prefer the CR1.

Things I would do differently. USCIS took one whole year to approve our application. I would contact the senators office prior to completion on a year and within 6 months get the senator involved to speed up the process.
I did not know that USCIS would lie and say that they have sent the application to NVC and 4 months late I find out from the senator that its still with USCIS and they refuse to tell us.
I also did not know he would require a canadian police certificate from canada as he lived there for over a year and half and now we are stuck at NVC since they would take up to a 120 days to process the certificate.

So basically what I would do differently is get on everyone's case and not have my time wasted.

hi
i want a police certificate from pakistan.we havn't received the DS-230 package yet from NVC.do i need any form to show to the police officer for the certificate or can get it just by asking them that it's for US visa.

You can always print the form from the internet. Secondy you wont need the form to the certificate. What you need to do is go to the local police station and tell them you need a certificate. They will give you an application form, which you need to fill out and get signed by a government official. Attach a copy of you CNIC and passport along with that form and return to the police station. They then process it and issue you a certificate.

...hi south asians...and to all pakistanis! right now my husband is in pakistan to get his police clearance and to attend his brother's wedding but he currently resides in the philippines with our son...i am so frustrated! he said he has sent his g325a 2 weeks ago and paid $20 to have it delivered to the united states in 5 days...and its been 2 weeks going on 3 weeks! our I 130 package is sooo ready to go, just his signed g 325a is all that i need! he will be going back to the philippines on feb. 15 and maybe if his g 325a from pakistan wont have arrived yet! so he will probably have to send from the philippines from a more reliable service like dhl or fed ex because he lives in the middle of nowhere...(kamra, pakistan)!!!...

mail in the pakistan is also quite reliable you can use fedex or dhl in pakistan as well so it almost the same thing, might even cost a bit less to send from pakistan

Hi guys

how did you, or your fiance, fiancees obtain a police certificate ??

there are making it hard for my fiance at local police station

and is it true that if the passport is valid for 6 months, no certificate from local police station is needed?

Just talk to a few people around they will definately issue you a certificate, if needs be, then just give a little money here and there to expedite the process as things work in india.

as far as i know, no validity of passport does not impact certificates you will still require one

wow Malarie! Congrats! That is such wonderful news. Mash'Allah! We hope to hear some positive news on our behalf soon too. Here's what happened with us...

Today I called DOS to ask if there was anything new since I had called last Tuesday or Wednesday. So, the lady was shocked at how long Zaheer was in AP.. (5 and a half months) and she was like "Wow.. he has been in AP a long time." and I said "Yeah" and she was looking at his file then said "They have his Passport, right?" and I said "Yes we sent it about a month and a week ago. And she kept looking and said "Yeah.. you know... you should...." then she kept pausing then she said "Why don't you call back by the end of the week..." and I didnt hear her well so i said "Im sorry, when should I call back, I didnt hear u" and she said "Call back by friday, we should hear something by then." And I was like "Ok, are there any notes on his file recently?" and she said "Only a congressional reply on March 31, but you know that, right?" and I said "Yes, I am sure that is when my senator's office replied to me." and she said "Yeah, it's still pending but why dont you call back by friday, hopefully we will know something by then." and I said ok and thanked her and then got off the phone. So, anyhow.. thats all that happened with us. I know it was finished with AP back on the 17th of March, and then put back on it around the 22nd.. so, let's see what happens. I am hoping the "Back on AP" is just because of his passport. Wish me luck. Allah Hafiz.

so my wife went on Thursday. Reached the embassy at 1:30...was out by 2:30 with the VISA.....oh my God!!! After a year of this crappy process,it is finally over.. Thanks a lot to everyone on VJ. I wouldnt have gotten through this without all the advice and support.
Then we bought her ticket and out of all the airlines, we chose AIR FRANCE....So we all know what happened with the whole Ashes and airport closures. So the utter happiness plummeted pretty fast. Her flight got cancelled but some good persistent hounding of the airport officials and she got put on a direct flight from dubai to Usa. I should be seeing her in the next 12 hrs. I will update you guys with her POE experience.

Submit Passport(s) to Embassy

We are pleased to inform you that processing of your application for immigration to the United States has reached the point where we request that you submit your passport(s) to prepare for visa issuance. You or another trusted person may bring your passports to the Embassy in *** any Sunday at 10 a.m., excluding holidays. In most cases, the visa will be ready for pick-up on the following Thursday at 2 p.m. Embassy staff will provide further details when you drop off your passport(s).

Does this mean, she just has to submit the passport? What is the next step? I hope there is no more AP.

congrates they r ready to print the visa on passport......

Hi Everyone. I have posted here before, but not for a long time. Basically, we had our interview on Nov 2, 2009. My husband and I have been waiting for AP to finish on his K3 visa. they told us at the interview we are approved and that the officer believes our intentions to going to USA are for the best. So, we call the Embassy and DOS often. The first week of March, we called the DOS and they told us the Embassy was trying to contact my husband since Feb 24th. But, my husband called the embassy after that date, and I had called DOS two days before and no one ever told us they were trying to contact us. They even verified the phone number. My husband always has his phone on and never ever got any phone calls from the embassy. They could have Emailed us too, but they didn't. They say they have been trying to call, but as I have seen, they tell this to a lot of people, but they never actually get the call. So, they wanted documents proving my domicile in the USA since I had been in Pakistan with my husband for 11 months. So I sent them the documents, and they said they received them and were working on it. A few days later, my husband called, and they told him his AP was finished, and Final Review was also finished and now they are just "Working on the case" that day, but the man couldn't tell him what was being done or whether it was approved or not. He said that within 8-10 days he should hear a result. So, about a week later, he called back, and they said "Still Processing" but he explained what the man had told him the previous week and they said "oh, yeah yeah, that's still whats happening". And that's all they would tell him. When we submitted the domicile documents, we asked if he could send his passport, and they said yes. We confirmed thsi twice. Then, he called yesterday to the embassy and they told him that yes the AP Was over, and the Final Review Was over.. but then they put him BACK into AP. Zaheer asked them why and explained the situation that he had been told, and the man said "No, its completely normal, this happens sir." then he called my husband a liar and told him that no one from their office would ever tell him it will take 8-10 days since they don't know what the outcome will be. So... now we don't know what to do. We are just so annoyed. I left Pakistan in December because I was 7 months pregnant and I needed to be back here before my domicile was up. So, I just had my baby last week, and I am missing my husband so much. I had to go through with the c-section by myself. Now I am recovering and caring for the baby by myself. At least I have a place to stay with my parents. But, its so hard without my husband and for him to have not been there to see his baby for the first time. It is hard. Please pray for us. Thank you for any comments that anyone might have regarding this. take care. Allah Hafiz.

United Kingdomvisa approved today!

I just wanted to tell everyone that I had my interview and I'm approved!!! I wouldn't even call that an interview, it was sooo easy. It was more a case of sit there for 2 hours waiting, then hand over your paperwork and your approved...
I got asked about 2 or 3 questions, not that the officer seemed very interested in my answers, and that was that, your approved.
You can't really call it an interview at all. Maybe I got lucky, i don't know but I'm soo excited and scared at the same time...
A bit of advice to anyone going to their interview, remember that electronic devices are not allowed, including car key fobs! I never thought about those and had to dash off to store the keys at the pharmacy.

congrate.....

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusK1 visa approved!

Hi all! Just wanted to thank the VJ and all people posted here - this information was very helpful for us to prepare all required documents.

I had an interview in Moscow on Feb 2 and was approved! (picked my passport with a visa at the DHL office in Ekaterinburg today).
There were several recent posts describing the process in Moscow, and I just wouldlike to add some comments - maybe they willbe useful for someone preparing to medical exam/interview.

1/ Medical at IOM on Feb 01 - everything went very smoothly, the only "inconveniency" was a need to run from IOM to the clinics, but the whole process was very easy. As easy as a visit to a doctor in a district clinics. The lady at the clinic's office (an administrator) was nice and kind and gave very clear explanations of what to do step-by-step. The ladies doing blood test and X-ray were also nice (simply did their job). Then I came back to the office and returned the envelope with the X-Ray results to the "administrator", she requested to wait for a physician. Seems, there were several physicians (in different rooms), they just picked the envelopes from the administrator's room, inviting a person whose name was written on the envelope. I was examined by a tall gentleman with gray beard. He has only requested me to show him my vaccination records, asked what operations I had and did I have any "serious" disease in a childhood. Then he listened to my heart and requested to come and take the results at 4pm!

THAT'S ALL!!

I came back about 4pm, took my envelope (nobody asked any additional questions or money or anything else).

2/ Interview at Feb 02. The "smiling lady" was nice, and my interview took just 5 minutes!
She asked me how I met Paul (asked the date! - I think, on the screen of her computer there was a file submitted with a petition and explaining how we met and stages of our relationships during these 2 years.) Then she asked why our prevoius marriages didn't work, and at the end she requested to show the most recent photographs of us together.

Now, Paul is going to come to Ekaterinburg on Feb 27th, we will make a party for our friends, then pick my luggage and will go to the USA on March 5th!

Good luck to everyone, whatever part of the Visa Journey he/she does!
Natalya
