My Wife (my agent of choice) has already paid AOS fee, it showed as "Paid". and the AOS I-864 form was sent by post.
Earlier, there was a check box available showing that we could pay the IV Bill but today when my wife logged in to pay the IV Bill, that option is not showing there anymore.
Any ideas what could have gone wrong?

We did receive an e-mail on November 22, 2012 stating:

Dear XXXXXXX:

We have reviewed the documents which you submitted in support of an application for an immigrant
visa. Please review the information listed under each applicant's name and provide any documents
which are indicated as missing or need additional information. You must submit the required
information. Failure to provide the requested information will delay your immigrant visa interview.

This happened after paying AOS & IV Bill, submitting AOS documents. The information/documents required in the above e-mail / instructions were: DS-230 (Immigrant Visa Application and other civil documents as indicated on their official website). Take a note that I am from Pakistan which does not fall under electronic processing.

So by "We have reviewed the documents which you submitted", do they mean that they have approved of AOS documents? OR will everything be processed once they receive the DS-230 and my civil documents?

call back, get a supervisor, ask for 'exactness'

They have not accepted my Birth Certificate even after the review which means I will have to send in a new one.
Now, I know which one to send but obtaining it and sending it to the NvC will be quite costly and time consuming. It might waste another 30 days just for them to review it.

Is it possible that I ask them to mark the case incomplete (no birth certificate) as I will bring it with me in person at the time of interview, and still send it to the Embassy to schedule an interview? This will save me extra courier money and time of course.

Same here... i sent AOS & IV package on December 1st and they received on December 3rd but they accepted AOS and said "we didn't receive your IV package yet" i hope they review it soon

I received an email from NVC today. They received the IV packet, reviewed it and sent RFE for original Birth Certificate. I did send the original but I don't know from which authority they want. If you have sent the one issued by City District Government Lahore Pakistan or whichever city then be prepared for RFE :(
I called and the operator lady said "maybe" they want one in Urdu. I told them that it was the original and they have marked it for a second review and now I have to wait another 10-20 days.

I sent the DS-230 along with my civil documents (original & copies) to NVC on November 30, 2012 and DHL (Courier Service) gave confirmation that it was received by one G Peters on December 3, 2012.
Today (December 11, 2012) I called the NVC and the guy said they have not received any documents. When I told him that I have got the confirmation of it being received by the courier, he said not to worry they must have received it then but he cannot see it in the system. He also advised me to give them 20 days before checking the case status with them however I have seen here on people's timelines that many got their case completed within 10-14 days after sending the IV packet.

What could it mean? They have received it but not entered in their system and that is why the guy could not see the status?
Is it normal or should I be worried about all my original civil documents?

Just starting my own journey now...I guess this means I should send in the original/handwritten Urdu one + NADRA bilingual one?

USCIS stage: with Your I-130 send the following:
(Photocopies)
Nikahnama Urdu & English, beneficiary's birth certificate (NADRA bilingual), Urdu hand wtitten birth registration record, passport pages with biographic info, a copy of passport pages of spouse showing the dates of entry in Pakistan and exit (if applicable), wedding photos (original copies), affidavits from 2-3 people who attended the wedding, marriage certificate issued by union council registered with NADRA.
National Visa Center; After your petition is approved by USCIS and reaches NVC.
(All originals)
Nikahnama, marriage cert, birth cert and urdu record, police clearance cert. For Affidavit of Support, see the guides.
It takes one week from day of application to receive police cert so do not apply at uscis stage.

Alot of us on this forum told you to send the Nadra birth certificate which is bilingual, and we also stated that they were accepted. I dunno what you were waiting for!

I truly am grateful for your valuable advice brother but when the supervisor called my wife on phone, he told her that they are waiting for an "Urdu Only" birth certificate since I am Pakistani and official language of Pakistan is Urdu. My wife was on Skype with me and I said we only have the bilingual one. Then the supervisor said if we send the bilingual one, we must also get a letter/annotation from the respective authority that they issue only the bilingual one and it is an extract from the official records from Registrar of Births and Deaths, that is the only way they will accept it.

Now, I hope you will understand why I was so confused and why I was searching for an Urdu only birth certificate. As for an update, I have applied for the NADRA bilingual birth certificate and have also requested the Union Council guy to sign and endorse the letter for me which he said that he will have to ask the Administrator about it since they never had to issue any such letter before as the bilingual certificate alone is acceptable.

I received RFE for Birth Certificate despite sending in the Original one which is computerized and in English.
NVC has rejected it again and the Customer Service Representative will not let me talk to a supervisor and keeps saying I need to send one in native language which is Urdu.

Now, they do not issue ones in Urdu anymore but only the bilingual ones (English & Urdu) on same page which is by NADRA, Pakistan.
So, if I send in that bilingual one, will it be acceptable? Any other Pakistani had this experience? I also asked if there was any way I could get the bilingual one and bring it with me to interview and if they could just forward my case to the embassy anyway upon which the CSR guy said, you can write to us that you are unable to provide the requested document and will will have to close your case anyway.

Mine does the same thing, it shows non-immigrant for CR-1 petition.
The case has been completed at the NVC on January 17, 2013 but still shows processing on the website.
I wonder how long it takes them to schedule an interview... any ideas?

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresOk to Change Jobs?

My husband's K3 interview is coming up soon, and his CR-1 is also just about to be sent from NVC to the London Embassy. What happens if I change jobs after he enters the US on the K3, but before the CR-1 interview? Will I have to provide a new I-864 package?

I don't want to jeapordize my husband's visa approval by changing employment, but I'd like to understand my options.

does this mean that you are going to have the K3 and CR1 both completed by the NVC and at the England embassy at the same time?

If so...i've read of a problem on this site someone had when their I-130 was completed by NVC and sent to Pakistan embassy, this canceled their K3, i hope it's not the case with you though...

Dear VJ Members,

I need an urgent help, I am stuck I guess and extremely worried..my NAO2 was approved on April 2, 2012 and then NVC took so long to generate the bill on my continous calls after 45 days, on May 15, 2012 my husband in US (Citizen) paid the bill online; on the same day our lawyer mail the required forms like Affidavit of support and Form DS 230 but without my sign and with out my original documents; he said he did right while after a thorogh browsing I got to know that form DS 230 should be signed by beneficiary (myself) I do not why oour lawyer is saying that he is right and now I will get interview date most probably. I have called several time to NVC and they said they will take 20 business days to review the documents and then come back to us if any more thing required.

I have prepared my attested/notarized documents and prepared my poice certificate for the safe side and thinking to send the signed form DS 230 along with original birth certificate, police certificate and translated marriage certificate to my hubby so that if any query comes he will courrier NVC on the same day.

I feel I am losing my days due to lawyer because now NVC review in 20 days then after again submit the originals and then again NVC will take 20 more days, I feel so helpless and worried.

I have my first anniversary after 3 months, thought will celebrate with my hubby but the situation is just opposite thought my lovely hubby visited twice after wedding but it would not be possible again just after 3 months .


Sorry for being writing in details.

Hope to listen from you guys and your experiences if NVC accepts form DS withour beneficiary sign and without original birth, police and marriage certificate.

Oh no, that makes me so sad!!! I hoped it would be so fast. My hubby just paid the affidavit bill and I was so happy that we are moving forward with this, but looks like after the case is complete it still a long wait till we find out the interview date.

I have a question...I have email NVC the choice of agent and don't know if it's been accepted. But...my husband got instructions (which explained how to chose the agent) last night and the invoice for affidavit which he paid last night as well. How do I know if NVC has accepted my choice of agent?


for choice if agent I really dont have any idea, would request my other VJ to help her out..

Not necessarily, our interview date was scheduled at the end of the month...



NVC keep on saying that interview are scheduled in second week of months so you might have to call in 3rd week that makes so weared because in second week of july it will be like one month once the case completion and then further once month till interview ...anyways am praying to get the date soon..

Few thing very important for the interview
1) Always tell the TRUTH, never lie to the officer
2) Listen to the officer carefully and answer properly and politely to each question
2) Be confident in your replies
4) Do not provide extra information other than the one asked
5) Keep eye contact.
6) Keep ur response short and to the point.
7) Look at the officer in the eye when speaking to them.
8) Always be polite,no matter whatever they are asking.
9) Dress appropriately go for business casual use minimal jewelry.
10) Be mentally ready for the long wait on the day of interview
11) Try to reach the consulate a bit earlier than scheduled time
12) Whole interview is to check whether the relationship is genuine or not so if your relation is genuine you don't need to panic

My name is Irfan Ahmed. I am from pakistan.
I got marriage with US lady on 5 jan 2006 and i had interview on 13 oct 2006.i got 221g for Co sponsor from officer and also he said they need AP process on my case and i need to give them my full set of finger prints and i have to pay 85$ for that and i did pay and done it same day same time then he said it will take 1 week to 10 month to clear finger prints and case process and they will call me again when it will complete.i want 10 month and have not recevied any call or letter from them.then my wife came here to vist us and we go embassy again with co sponsor .Visa officer gave me sheet for 221G again and there metion that they need again my medical exam and police report and full set of digital finger prints.also they said there finger prints system is not working yet as soon as it will work they will call me when they wil be able to.
i already waited 10 month for names checks and background checks etc.its mean after digital finger prints and medical and police report again i will have to wait one year .
there is anyone who advice me and tell me what is this and how long i will have to wait for visa
