PhilippinesLAX as POE
You'll be fine. It was my first time to enter US with no company at that, but it was easy all in all. Just ask the personnel at LAX where are the lines for visitors...then wait a long line. The immigration officer will take a look at your visa packet and ask questions/info he'll get from that packet. THat's it! Goodluck!

PhilippinesCan i bring tawas?
QUOTE (heno @ Nov 16 2008, 10:09 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
It's not the crystalized tawas in the small plastic bag. It's the "MILCU" brand. It's a powdered tawas. The container is like the one you use to your baby with a puff. I think Bench has it too. I'm not sure. You can't think it's met because of the container and has a very baby powder look. I'm thinking of putting it to the bottle of johnson's.

I did bring 2 pcs of Milcu, no problem. And my sister brought half a dozen on 2 different occasions, that didn't cause a problem in the immigration. Just put it in you baggage. And don't remove the portective seal yet.

PhilippinesWife just got Drivers license!
QUOTE (Peil @ Nov 30 2008, 01:06 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
So my wife just got her drivers license in the mail last night. And right now at this very second, she is out on her own in my car for the very first time. She was very nervous this morning about going out on her own even though she has had her permit for almost a year. But i have to say, even though i know she can drive, I too am a little nervous now. I wonder if my car will come back home in one piece! smile.gif I feel like a parent that just let their kid take off in the car for the first time. laughing.gif Luckily she is only going to the grocery store which is a drive she has done several times, so i dont think i have to worry too much.

-Andrew

How long did you wait for the license card to arrive in the mail? I passed my behind-the-wheel exam last Nov 3, 2008. I haven't received the card yet.

Don't worry about your wife, sometimes being alone makes us [all wives behind the wheel] more confident about things we do. We need to be independent from time to time. smile.gif

Give us a break, will you husbands?! jest.gif jest.gif jest.gif

PhilippinesQuestion about religious ceremony in the Phils.
QUOTE (sweet_wifey22 @ Dec 1 2008, 10:22 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Yes You can do it! While having the K1 visa.....
I have known a coupe They did the wedding ceremony without the paper work for the wedding.
They just did it here in Philippines for the family of the filipina to witness the wedding and TO HAVE THE BLESSINGS OF THEIR PASTOR!!! They filed the k1 visa. So you can do it!

Good Luck!

If it can be done, just dont show any of your ceremony pictures to the consular officer during the interview. Goodluck! whistling.gif
chris-leiFemalePhilippines2008-12-02 10:58:00
PhilippinesQuestion about religious ceremony in the Phils.
I haven't heard of a religious wedding in the Philippines that is not registered in NSO (National Statistics Office). I'm Catholic by the way, so I don't know whether other Christian denominations do such things as marriage dedication, equal to a religious ceremony not being registered in the NSO.

If you really wanna do the religious ceremony, just be very very very careful not to show any pictures of you and your fiancee during the USEM interview. That will warrant you a denial right away on the basis of wrong visa applied. They will equate that with "marriage," registered or not. And make very sure that your marriage is not registered at NSO.

K1 visa is the faster way to get your fiancee here, but you will deny her of a church wedding that we, ladies dream of. But you can do a church wedding here! Minus her parents sad.gif.

K3 visa will give her the wedding of her dreams right away (not years after) and you will also satisfy her parents, but will take 3-6 months more than K1 does.

I hope you won't screw it up... whistling.gif

Philippinesneed some help or advise...ASAP !!!!
You need to get a Tourist visa. You have to prove them that you are going back to the Philippines. You need as much proofs as you can.

For your baby, CRBA is the answer.

PhilippinesPsoriasis
Psoriasis is not contagious, however uneducated people, looking only at the skin lesions try to put up a distance with them causing stress and low self esteem on the patient. What you can do is go online, try to have as much knowledge about it as possible. I'm sure she is under the care of a reliable dermatologist and internist. But educating herself about it will make her more confident and will actually reduce her stress.

Stress as most of here say, is the number one cause of Psoriasis flare ups. So try to sit back and relax. Psoriasis will not cause a visa denial. Diseases that will cause denial are pulmonary Tb, HIV, syphilis and mental illness.

PhilippinesI need your help
QUOTE (IzelNAl @ Dec 2 2008, 01:18 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello everyone,
Izel went to her interview today and received a pink and blue slip. The blue slip says that they need more information about my income.

I have my own business and reported $40,000.00 annual income on my I 134. I submitted 11 months of bank statements from my business. My 2007 income tax return. My W-2's from a job that I had last year and a 1099 for income from unemployment as well as income from my business. I have a contract with a customer for a retainer of $1500.00 per month which the customer gave me and I submitted along with 4 months worth of pay stubs from that customer. I also submitted one of each of bank statements from 2 different personal accounts showing a moderate amount of money in each. I also submitted my deposits into Izels account for the allowance I give her each month. I hate to be so open about this but I am really confused as to what else I can provide that will show I can support Izel.

The blue slip just says that they need more supporting evidence about my financial situation and whether I can actually support Izel or not. Izel went back to the Embassy and the person she talked to told her I needed to submit pay stubs from my employer. DUH? I called the Embassy and got the same dumb ### answers that I have always received when I have called there. "Just submit something Sir but we can't tell you what".

If anyone has any constructive information or ideas as to what the consulate might be looking for, please let me know. Thanks for the replys.

Do you have any other assests like house or land in the US? You can show them the deed of those.

PhilippinesHOW DO WE KNOW IF WE PASSED MEDICAL?
She passed the medical exam if they took her passport and they will give her the X-ray film and her vaccine record. Plus, on the second day of the medical apointment, she will be given shots/immunizations.

If they requested another tests/labs, that means something is wrong or they are verifying something medical-wise.

She passed the medical, don't worry. Congratulations!

Prepare for the embassy interview next! good.gif

PhilippinesWhat if the beneficiary is unemployed?
It doesn't matter if the beneficiary is unemployed or not. What the CO is more concerned of, is whether the petitioner can provide for the beneficiary and not resulting to the beneficiary being a public charge to the US government. So the petitioner must prove that his income is 125% above the poverty line.

PhilippinesMy case is under Administrative review
QUOTE (sheremae @ Dec 5 2008, 08:09 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
My fiance called this morning and the embassy told him ,just to WAIT it is still in AR if they need something they will call me. For everyone who has the same with my case, just have faith and pray to God with no doubts.

The call reps that answer your inquiries always tell the callers that their cases are under AR. They are not allowed to say anything more than that. And, they are not in the USEM, they are staying in a call center outside the embassy. When you call, they will just enter your case number in a computer. They dont have a physical access to your case. And some of them dont really know what they are talking about. They give rehearsed responses.

In my experience, one time I called USEM hotline because I couldnt get hold of Grace and Grace would only want to talk with USC's (racist!!). The call rep told me that my case was still under AR, and the CO has not yet updated my case (that was a week after they received my document verification results). On that very same moment as I was talking to a call center rep, without my knowledge, my then fiance was calling Grace. She told him that my visa was already printed and was ready to be sent by Delbros.

Just keep yourself busy and pray! good.gif

PhilippinesWorrying about skin problems in future medical...
Skin problems, unless from an infectious cause don't warrant a denial on visa interview.

What you can do for the mean time is apply the Oilatum on your moist skin, the best time to apply it is immediately after bathing and do it 2-3x a day. If Oilatum doesn't work for you, you may use 100% Petroleum jelly, Vaseline brand will do. Avoid too much sun exposure to prevent too much sweating. Apply the Clobetasol cream on clean skin once or twice a day (no more than twice a day).

That should clear your skin within 7 days...if not, consult your dermatoligist or get a second opinion.

Goodluck!

PhilippinesDS-156 Questions
Guys,

We just called today and my interview is scheduled for Sept 2, 2008 at 7 AM. Any other VJ'ers having their interview on that date?

We just have a few questions on how or what to answer in the DS-156 Form specifically the ff: Please feel free to add your own answers or comment if my answers are ok or not smile.gif

Question 26
How long do you intend to stay in the U.S.? INDEFINITELYOR PERMANENTLY
I was going to answer "For as long as my fiancee, lives and stays in the U.S."

Question 27
What is the Purpose of your Trip? TO MARRY MY PETITIONER/FIANCE
I placed, "In order to marry and live with my fiancee"

Question 32
Do you intend to work in the U.S.? WITH WORK AUTHORIZATION
"YES" "Self-Employed as a Lawyer". Well I am presently a lawyer here in the Philippines and God Willing, as soon as my K1 Visa is granted, I get to head to California and be with Claudette, take the BAR and practice in the U.S.

Any other tips would be highly appreciated Guys!

Again Good Luck to all of us still waiting for our interview and medical results and God Bless!

GOODLUCK!!!
