USCIS Service CentersTransferred file from vsc to Texas got touched today!!!!!!

I finally got a response from my congressman... I'll let you guys know if they say anything useful. Thinking of contacting the Ombudsman or whatever its called. LOL Did anybody else do that? I have no idea what they are..

You can read about them here http://www.dhs.gov/topic/cis-ombudsman and also submit a request.

USCIS Service CentersTransferred file from vsc to Texas got touched today!!!!!!

Well it could be that our files were already distributed to agents, and when it came to send some away they only took Dec - Jan from certain agents.

USCIS Service CentersTransferred file from vsc to Texas got touched today!!!!!!

The cutoff date was Jan 18 I believe.... anything after that is a VSC approval......

I am thinking it's more Jan22, since that is my date now and the one who was approved today looks like Jan 23. Though my original date was also Jan23, so that just adds more confusion to the process.

I did just get off the phone with Rachel from my senators office. She said she will look into my case, and also something about how Vermont was at an 8month waiting and believes they are getting closer to 5 months again. I explained to her that all we want is clear communication from the USCIS, and to get out of limbo. We will see what happens.

Just had a thought, though we see Vermont approvals for January, how do we know they are not Texas? Minus the one person who posted that she contacted her Senator and somehow managed to get it pushed through.

USCIS Service CentersTransferred file from vsc to Texas got touched today!!!!!!

Well we all just need to keep at our Senators. The way it works is if they are getting enough calls on a certain matter they will start to address it properly. I'm currently waiting for my Senator's case worker to call me back. It's time for the USCIS to be accountable for a service that we paid for. I can understand that there is no official guarantee on processing times but there should be on supplying information to us.

another end of January Vermont case got approved.....

Just saw this myself, and wow that hurts me because this person petitioned the same time I did on 1-23-13 (NoA1). Though For some reason my date changed to 1-22-13 on the Texas Transfer Notice. Talk about a kick in the canister.

I'm residing in Houston and I got the "transfer" text/email too

Id like to contact my congressman/Senator to get their attention about this matter but I'm not sure who exactly to email. Anybody can help?

Well this is your congressmen:

and these are your Senators

Now if you are the petitioner put a bug in their ear, and if you are the beneficiary get your petitioner in gear :)

Great updates, and more confusion but hopefully the dust is starting to settle. I just put in a service request on mine, and well I suppose we all will just have to wait until we get the letter in the mail. Though we you do get it....hurry up and post it on here :P

USCIS Service CentersTransferred file from vsc to Texas got touched today!!!!!!

When the dust settles, I think the transfers never left the state of Vermont! They were all probably sent to the local office down the street in St albans.. The initial info given that they went to Texas was wrong. At least you guys are in a position to have yours worked on. I'm Jan 25 NOA1 and VSC did 1 approval yesterday and 2 today with one of them being a REF.

Where can you find the information on how many they approve on a day?

Well let's hope this really means things are moving forward and not backward. It does stand to make sense that they would send them back to Texas to reprocess and send them where they will be going. If it's truly going to my local office it looks like my future will be sitting in Pittsburgh, PA.

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusRussian Girlfriend Questions for Visit to USA
Thanks for the all the feedback everyone, you've definitely helped us answer some questions.

Would anyone happen to know if copies of her parents visas, a copy of her birth cert, and copies of the property she owns is good for the Consulate or original docs only?

Thanks again everyone

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusRussian Girlfriend Questions for Visit to USA
Thanks everyone, I guess i'm kind of confused on everything she will need to get a Visa here. I thought she needed a sponsor either via a hotel or by someone living here. Is she able to get a visa by just applying and saying well this is where she wants to go, this is where she will be staying, or would there need to be proof sent to her about who I am?

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusRussian Girlfriend Questions for Visit to USA
Hello Everyone I've come to seek your knowledge and experiences in the visa world, which I am new to. I've combed over the forums, and read many websites looking for answers for the questions my girlfriend and I have about her pending visit. So here is our story:

My girlfriend and I met back in April online, and since then have been talking non-stop. We hit it off really good, and after a couple of months we began to date each other, and planned a trip to Turkey with her best friend in September. Turkey was the first place that we had met each other, physically, and now we would like to meet again here in the USA. We are planning to have her come visit the first week in January since we both have off but we are stumped about what to do with the Visa process. I'm not sure if we are worrying too much from everything we have read, but both of us have never had to get a visa like this before. Our worry is that because we are dating, and I am looking to be her sponsor that they will deny her a visa because of the risk of her maybe wanting to stay. Truth is she wants to come here and see the USA with her own eyes, experience our lifestyle and meet my family; to decide if one day she wanted to move here. She just moved from Moscow to St Petes and currently is looking for a new job. We both know that it will be a excellent idea for her to find employment before she tries, as it's a great way to show she has ties there. She also joined a volunteer group, and owns a house in another part of Russia that her parents live in. Because we worry about the relationship getting in the way of the visa approval, we thought it would be best to just say that we are friends and that I'm inviting her as a friend (we have no intention at all of getting married on a tourist visa as we know it can really screw stuff up). However, we also worry that if we decide to get married, that maybe these lies would come to bite us in the ####. Both of us are very honest, and truthful people, and for us to lie is very difficult. So I wanted to know if anyone else had experiences like this, and what did they do. What worked, what didn't? All we want is to spend a week or 2 together here in the USA.

I should also mention that I have all the recommend documents ready to send to her for sponsorship, though i knew it means nothing about proof that she will return to Russia.

So any advice that could be given will be truly appreciated to help bring us together for New Years.

Edit:
Do i need to sponsor her if we plan on her staying in my home, or can she do without?

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusSeeking help to answer Fiancee questions
I can ask a million questions on here for my fiancée, and everyone gives me awesome feedback but just one problem. I can relay everything I learn here back and tell her what everyone says, but it's still through my perspective; someone who has lived here all his life. I was thinking about asking her if she would want to/be willing to talk to others that have been through or going through the process. So that's where the help comes in. Would any Russian here be willing to tell/share their experience to her, and maybe answer her questions? She is 24, in St-Pete right now and will be moving here to warren Pennsylvania. So it would great if I could find people who might be in the area or in the north east that came from Moscow/st-Pete. Warren is a small town outdoors town, though so is her hometown, but we plan on just using it as our base. We plan to find a place to move together, that we both like, in the future.

Thanks for any help guy so for you've all be pretty damn awesome.

Just PM me or leave a message here.

I was looking into this too and came up with very little. Though I know my fiancée's roommate wants me to send her 2 of the basic kindles, so there must be support for it there. Many have iPads, or even look into the new mini, my fiancée does have a nook though.

Hey guys so my fiancee is in the process of filling out her G-325a and like me she has lived in many places in the last 5yrs. Some that we don't remember the exact address, and some multiple address in the same area. Would it be ok to just put Saint Peteresburg Russia from (date here) to (date here)?

I had posted this in the k1 forms too but no luck, maybe one of you know?

Hey everyone so I was just in Finland with my Fiancee and we did some K1 paperwork, it was a way for us to eliminate shipping time and have vacation with each other. I had her fill out the G-325a in black pen, and though her hand writing is great I fear they might not be able to properly read it all. I was wondering if anyone has or what you thinks about the idea of just typing it all out and stapling it to her hand written copy that has her signature.

Thanks for help everyone.

Sorry to hear about your luck, I've been using USPS and haven't had one issue yet. Packages like this go to the post office and sit there until the person gets the paper saying its there. Then they go pick it up.

Thank you everyone for the great advice, as of Jan 15 our K1 packet has entered the waiting lines of many others. I hope for a smooth ride, but know that exciting things are coming up now. No more are we just talking about it but are actually doing it, and it's a great feeling :)

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusAbout to submit K1
Hey everyone, so Sveta and I are about to submit our paper work and before I do that I just wanted to check a few things and get opinions. I obtained a certified copy of my birth certificate to give to her, instead of giving her the original I have. The scanned copy in our k1 packet is of the original and not the certified copy. Should I change this and put in the scanned copies of the certified copy, because that is what she has, or do you think it would be ok just leave the original. Also thanks to Facebook achieve downloader (seriously this is a nice feature to download your whole profile history) I was able to get a few of our conversations that I want to send along. I was wondering would printing on both sides be ok, or should it be single sided? As always guys (and gals) I do appreciate all the help you've give us to make this day possible. Great things await her and I, and though it may have it struggles, it will only make us stronger in our bonds and is hell of worth it all.

Also I plan on visiting her in St Petes in may, any suggestions, recommendations or tips?

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusMoscow Times Article
I normally like to read through the Moscow Times and Saint Petersburg Times websites from time to time to have an idea on what is going on over there. Though my Fiancee would say I don't need to know anything Russian because she thinks it ok that I don't, I still like to know. But anyways I did read this opinions article today and well lets hope some of his opinions never come true, especially the one about banning RUS marriages to US citizens.

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusWhen distance makes you feel useless
Nice Baron that's actually the same stuff that I've been doing. I have one of those GoPro cameras and so I mounted it on the dashboard of my car. In summer time I take it out into the woods and when i go kayaking. Come back home and share the footage with her. We are working on schools now for her, been in contact with a few of them in the area to find out how to make it happen. Hell I've even gone to a few saloons to ask them questions about hair and brazilian hair straightening, and I'm bald, but all worth it! Though If you don't mind me asking were you able to get her Finical aid, if needed, with her conditional green card? Some schools have told me yes while others were unsure.

Yea everyday I'll keep her informed about things here, we all try to make that gap seems as small as possible. If i had the monies I would just stay over there for the 90days or so my visa would allow me to, but this all gives me a chance to get things in order for her arrival. The greatest part of all of this is knowing that with each day we are learning something new, and moving closer to our future together.

Finding this website has also been a big help for me too, meeting people such as yourself and Gary have really given me great ideas and stuff to think about. Keeps my arsenal full.

That's what I was thinking Victor, too bad I couldn't hire a bunch of guys in Russia to be my stand in for this right now but thanks for the advice as well! Thank you to Barron too, that's great advice and well i plan on forever being her Rock when she needs to lean on something sturdy. That's the thing about us Taurus's stubborn, and tough but well sometimes we can be emotional. Which is why I came here to vent a little. Appreciate everyone for their support and great ideas, now to just get this behind us and keep focus on our dreams and goals and life together. Many of you speak about the visa being the easy part and life being the hard part...well I'm ready to take on that hard part :)

Thanks moon, great advice you are right. My fiancee is tough as nails but just on the outside. If I could rain down justice It would be pouring for a week straight! I'm not sure what to do, or even how to react to this. Actually my reaction right now is probably right but with no way to focus it onto this guys face. Apparently some guy at work kept my fiancee longer, much longer, then she was suppose to be there. He was getting drunk, pulled her into the office (doctors office), and kissed her, told her how attractive she was and was waiting for "more". How the hell can this happen, what the hell can i do! I just need to vent my frustation somewhere because I don't want it to fall on her, I'm not pissed at her, i'm pissed that there is nothing I can physically do. She got away on her own and is on the bus home now. I'm suppose to be the one that protects her and keeps her safe. I can't imagine what she is going through right now, I don't know what to do to comfort her, damn this sucks. I wish I could make this process faster for us, and get her here. This would never happen if I could prevent it! Now i have to go to work with all this ####### on my mind, but I'll be there for her in one way or another, any way I can. This just sucks though.

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusVICTORY DAY!

Congrats Steven.

Be aware that Paris has the worst airport in the world and a 100% success rate in losing our luggage, ALL of it, EVERY time. Keep a change of clothes in your carry on and any important papers. Your bags will eventually catch up to you in a day or two.

We plan to go to Ukraine this year (Ukraine has some awesome May Day and Victory Day celebrations also) but we are holding off until we get the visa appointment for Alla's mom. I have a feeling this is going to rival a mission to the moon. I doubt that will be in May.

Have fun, it is a great time to visit!

I went with this way to skip Moscow, but I'm thinking I should have went there instead. Thanks for the heads up Gary!

As I look at the page in my passport it says, ?????. Ahh cool so that's my Russian equivalent. Yea don't let the max confuse you it's a name i use when I used to pen a few stories anonymously. So I've got this visa in hand, and booked the flights yesterday, and loving how everything is fitting into place. Though an Idea struck me, "I wonder if any other VJers will be going over during Victor Day?". Well how about it anyone else? If you happen to be flying out of Detroit on may 2 through Air France at 3:25pm to Paris...we will be on the same flight.

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusMarriage in Russia

Yesterday, we had numerous conversations with great results; what a beautiful Valentine's Day present-discuss our life together. We have decided to pursue the K1 visa path with marriage in America but celebration in Russia. We will submit the paperwork immediately after my visit on May 1-12. I have gathered all my paperwork (divorce documents, etc) and she is getting hers scanned. I am filling in the forms and will take with me to Russia for signatures and to review together.

If USCIS would step on the accelerator, she could be here by next Valentine's Day.

This is a similar plan that my fiancee and I have come to as well. Marriage here and a celebration there later.

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusTime: First meeting to Proposal
Gary I know exactly what you mean about looking into her eyes and knowing. My Fiancee and I met in April 2012 online, and really there hasn't been a day we haven't talked since. Physically we met in September 2012 when we were in Turkey together. After we both returned home we found our way onto the subject of marriage and I told her she would be my wife one day. Her reply, I feel the same. It wasn't until January this year while we were in Finland that I purposed to her, had to do it officially even though she had already said yes beforehand ;). Since I just got approved for my 3 year Russian visa I'll be going to see my girl here in couple months too :)

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusRecommendation for Moving Her Stuff
Hey everyone, it's been awhile, I hope all is well and that spring weather is coming your way. So now that we are getting closer to the next step we have started to talk about how to actually move her stuff here. Well the internet has been unhelpful so far, and keeps telling me how to move my stuff from USA to Russia. Maybe it's trying to tell me that I should go there instead, but hey we will give this USA adventure a go first. So I was wondering if any of you could recommend any companies. I'm not 100% sure what all she intends to bring (clothes and shoes are a no brainer) so recommendations for all sizes and weight would be great. If this question has been asked a billion times already, I guess I will make it a billion and one since I had a hard time finding the info I was seeking. Or perhaps that was just a internet Jedi using mind tricks on me.

Russia, Ukraine and Belarus3 Year Russian Visa Accepted
So I just received news yesterday that my application for a 3 year Russian tourist visa was approved, and should be in hand by tomorrow. I thought I would share my experience with the company visaHQ as I have seen a few posts about visa types and to do it on your own or use a company. First off I used VisaHQ based on research done on this site and through, what my fiancee refers to, my "google face", and because I live in a small town where we have Amish and the closest Russian Embassy is 8hours away. That said VisaHQ definitely provided an easy service, fill out documents, make a cover letter, print it all and sign, then ship along with the passport. They do offer invitations, which I opted for since I'll be staying at my fiancee's apartment. This was also a bonus because it meant not needing her to get an invitation for me. Though I had limited interactions with the rep who handled my account, she did call me and let me know they received my documents. She also consulted me on my visa request and told me that if I change it to April 2013 thru April 2016 that I would have a much better chance because I guess asking for May in January is a little far out. It was not a big deal and so I changed it. She submitted everything, and 2 weeks later with no fuss and no problems I have my visa approved. The service rep was always polite and great to talk to, even bullshitted with her a little. I would recommend them if you don't mind spending a little extra money, have limited time, and want ease of the process. Do remember to read everything throughly, and double check everything, before you submit your application. I'm unable to comment on the full benefits and comparison of doing it yourself as I have never done it. Though with some elbow grease, click of the mouse and your own google face you can find your answers, I just hope that my experience helps you along the way.
