People have not been getting anything on their cases until they have done the biometrics as far as I can gather from previous posts, so dont worry.

i'm also wondering about my biometrics appt. I wonder if I'm getting an RFE or something. People seem to be getting their biometrics, even if they sent their package after mine. Im starting to get a bit concerned,

I shouldn't worry, there seem to be quite a few around your date that haven't received a biometrics appointment yet.

Well, I know that there's still 4 days left for the month of June but, I doubt it that we will be able to file ours before the month ends. :(

I am enjoying reading everybody's progress but, I don't see myself posting on here anymore nor do I foresee myself posting on July's either.

How wonderful!! I sent my packet on the 22nd with USPS certified mail, thinking I'm in no hurry (which I'm not).
Well, their site didn't update any tracking info about my package, it just says that my package was accepted at the departure point...So, that could very well mean that it never left my post office. :rofl:

I have had a similar experience. I posted it on Monday and have been checking all week to see if it had been received, which it hadnt. Then, thank goodness, it was finally signed for today. So dont worry, it is just taking its time in my experience if you dont 'overnight' it. Good luck.

As much as we wanted to be and were suppose to be May filers, money is tight and May has come and gone. Good Luck to everyone. We'll be joining the June filers as our packet is getting sent out tomorrow morning, no matter what!

Has anyone also had to file for their child/ren for lifting conditions too? My son came in on a K2 and I know I have to include him on the form, but do I need to just pay the biometric fee for him or is it like the initial GC application and I have to pay the full fee as well. i just received ref dated March 4 asking for birth certificate and financial documents such as bank statement ,lease agreement , insurance ,or any other prove. we donot have any kids because of her medical problem when she was young should i just write the cover letter regarding why we dont have kids


I wouldn't worry about not being able to have children for lifting of conditions, that's not a requirement for
adjustment of status. Send everything else as they ask including IRS transcripts, banks statements, insurance etc.

I think from the time notification of approval is given, I believe it's just a few days to when the new green card arrives. But for the rest of us waiting for approval the site to check is https://egov.uscis.g...is/Dashboard.do site at the bottom half shows you the current processing times

No not until they actually pick up your file and begin processing. With your date, you could hear something within the next 2-3 weeks.

You can file for citizenship 3 years after the date on your green card. You can apply up to 89 days before the third year anniversary date on your green card. You can't file for a U S Passport. You get that after you become a U S citizen.



Sorry, so that would put us at after approximately 5 months processing time after filing the n-400 to November 2013.... Then how many more months for the test and oath ceremony?

Yep so you can have your 10yr Gc for like 3 months as you should be able to apply for citizenship around July.


Since we all have a bit of time on our hands, I've begun to fill in the info for the N-400. It's longer and more detailed then I expected. The hardest part seems to be documenting the time spent outside the US on trips, including dates left, entered, and countries visited, including Canada. The plan is that we'll have this application in the mail when everything else is ready.

I've had my biometrics done on August, been waiting since then. I checked in the website and they add 30 more days of waiting... This is really messing me up. I was planning to join the military this spring so I could start 3rd year of college this fall. Looks like everything will be delayed. Sighs

Looks like the California office folks are starting to hear some good news. Poor folks like us in the Vermont office are now showing delayed processing to 9 months. It was 8 months. That would put us at around April before we hear anything.

I for one don't know anything about a stamp but we've traveled a few times and all we needed is the letter. On our last trip from Canada to the states, the immigration gave us hell because I had a copy of the letter, not the actual. He proceeded to deride us further by saying "you wouldn't bring in a photocopy of your green card would you?" Fortunately, he wasn't able to understand the vulgarities I said to him in a language he couldn't understand LOL

I had been away from this forum for a few months. Last year my wife and I were traveling back home because her mom was sick with dengue fever so we totally forgot about the extension and ended up filing 5 days late. We sent a letter explaining the reasons for our late filing, and my wife got her 1 year extension letter 2 weeks later. I'm not sure if that means there won't be problems because we filed late but I hope that is the case :unsure:

She did her biometrics and now we are waiting. Our NOA letter says they got the application July 9th (her green card expired July 5th).

Reading these forums it seems July people have not yet received their responses, so I continue to wait. BTW, we live in California so we filed to CSC.

Now we are planning to go see her parents again. One immigration officer told us over the phone that she could travel with the expired greencard and the letter alone, while another one told us she has to get a stamp on her passport. I guess we will play it safe and go get the stamp.

If there is anyone here with similar experience or comments we would love to get your feedback.

So what happens next for us July filers? Assuming the 8 month wait that puts us in March/April we hear something. What is that something? An interview date... guess I'm helping keep this thread alive rather then dig into the archives. Thanks much

I have seen lot of people doing early bio.
What is the process? Just walk-in to the USCIS and ask for it.

I think we need GC, NOA1 letter and what else?


Yes, with the appointment letter, just walk in and be really nice and ask if they will help you out. Worked for us, but doubt it will help too much with the whole process. Might only save a few days in the big picture depending on your actual date and walk in date.
