Then she told me it will take 20 business days for a case number to be generated. I think I'll ignore that and call every day to see if we have our case number yet. MCMLXXXII i also scanned my NOA2 to the nvc email adress and got a response that they are investigating. I called this am and the operator said they didn't have my case yet but when they do they will keep my updated via email. I dont know how true or reliable but i guess we keep calling. What I hate about this whole process is that there is no set way things are doen. Some cases can be faster and some slower for totally arbitrary reasons! Yeah I decided to not let it get me frustrated. my mom waited 10 years of my papers guess it's no biggie for me to wait a few months now. It really takes that long to send it? NVC told me they send it the same day they mail the approval notice. I pm u what I was told. Glad to know they took the time to resond tho. I can deal with the wait knowing whats going on. it's harder to deal with the wait when no one has an answer for you. Do like shell and I did, call up your congressman or senator and ask to speak to their immigration liaison. well im afaird that wont be any help right now sice they CLAIM it was sent out yesterday. I was upset but i went in the lunch room n skype my hubby from my phone and as soon as he said "hi" i felt 99% better. didnt make sence telling him for both of us to be upset, one of us need to be the desinated sane person. guess I'll wait, hopefully NVC dont let it sit in their mail room too long either. So I called USCIS.... this right here earks my soul. 1st rep yad yad yad ure telling me what im reading on my NOA2 u make no sence, transfer me to a supervisor. Supervisor like he just drank some Vodka cus he not making sence either, telling me that they have 90 days to mail it to NVC. I asked him so u telling me it take us 90 days for mail to get prepared and get to nvc? then i think he heard how stupid that just sound and tranfer me to and indian lady. ok im hype and ready for her..... here goes... her response was that my petition was mailed out on April 11th (noa2 dater mar 21st) (that is 21 calendar days or 15 business days). what the french fries... Smoke is coming out my head, y they gonna wait so long? What, did it take that long to get the cobwebs off the file..grrrrr well id leave NVC alone till monday. Wouldn't even tell me whether our case has been received or not. Yeperz they did me the same thing. today is the 16th business day and they told me to email the NOA2 to them. I am optimistic about tomorrow. I went in dummy mood and said so you guys scann each one as they come in and then she explained well the part about the big batch i think sliped out. she was really nice tho. Sometimes you gotta let them know you know the process and other time u gotta pretend to not know, right now everytime i call im pretending i dont know, until i get the same person who delt with me before lolll. I know i just hung up too.. but im just calling to nag about my case #. In most Trinidad cases the interview was 2 mths after the Case Complete. I called again today Got Madea or someone with a similar name to answer she was quite nice. But still no record of NVC receiving the case yet. I guess they are taking their Royal time with geting our week of NOA2's over to NVC. Seems like we'd be waiting together here too buddy. I also called this am and got and indian lady who told me give it 2-4weeks but in 2 days i will be scanning my NOA2 to NVC like an operator told me to last week after 15 business days have past. Well, you can always include a copy in the IV package, can't hurt. Just have a little paragraph on the cover letter mentioning his name change. You only need the divorce decree for the beneficiary. So if I read your post correctly and you are the petitioner then you dont need to send in your divorce decree. You're going to hear a bunch of discouraging time frames. You just have to numb yourself to it and persist. When they ask me for my NOA2 date should i just tell them I dont have it, because i seem to get the 15day response automatically when i give my NOA2 date. Id call back tonight and see. If it was obtained from the right place, then you should be fine. Case number: ok but i thought they'd aleast beable to tell me if the received it or not, they seem to be telling everyone else. maybe id call back nest wednesday. The guy told me to give it 15 business days. I want it soo bad tho lolll. I got the police report from the correct place alrady but it just looks so unofficial. it's a 8x19 receipt paper with a stamp not a seal. I had to send my birth certificate and marriage certificate in last fall for a new passport for a name change and I got the passport back in 8 days and my certificates back in 10 days. It probably would have been the next day, but that next day happened to be a weekend. I did not expedite my application. I paid for regular service. From NOA2 to case number is about 20 days, some longer, some not. From case number to case complete is about 22-30 days. Again some longer, some shorter. There's a lot of variables in there. How fast NVC invoices the case, how fast paperwork is sent to them etc. thank you so very much for you quick response, with the request I attached a letter and asked them to get it back to me in at least two weeks and i even sent a self postage envelope. When i applied for mine right after i got citerzenship it took me 6 weeks to get it and my naturilization certificate. SITUATION: my son (usc) and i (usc) are going on a trip in May, i (USC) submitted his (USC) passport application. I (USC) got a letter in the mail yesterday that they need my original Marriage certificate. I(usc) called and explain my situation that i will need my marriage certificate back as soon as possible, she advised me to write a letter stating that and attatch with the request from the US department of state. QUESTION: How long does it take from the time you get your NOA2 to submitting the IV packet? NVC has to receive an ORIGINAL DS-230 from the beneficiary, not a scanned version. You should get your husband to sign/date the DS-230 asap and send it to you asap so you aren't waiting long. And no, the form is NOT expired. The expiration date you see on the top right doesn't refer to the form being expired, it's for the OMB.
