K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	todays experience	hi there guys.. well we have yet another speed bump to get over ..the embassy called yesterday to confirm the appt. and mentioned the south side of cyprus which we didnt know there was an embassy in the north and the south..his needs to be in the north..we attempted to cross the borders and when we got to the greek side and they wouldnt let him pass..i could..he couldnt..he needed a visa to go through..anyways the northern embassy was closed today because of a muslim holiday...the emabssy wont fwd his packet until they know he has an appt made at the other one..we are going early monday to the proper embassy and i have an exact duplicate of the 129f packet so with that and all his interview documents we are praying they can do the interview weds and get the visa by friday...please continue to pray for us...we need it for sure... melissa	papillonlover	Female	Nigeria	2010-11-19 09:02:00

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	UPDATE from Cyprus!.	Hi Guys... Well Monday rolled around and we went to the northern embassy and they told us the consular was not there all this week so we couldn't have an appt. We were crushed to think I was going to be leaving without him. She told us to come back Weds. to drop off the one form that the bar code didn't print out legibly. Then Marcel received a call today asking him to bring the forms immediately so they can be sent to the other embassy so it could be processed and back to them before Monday because HE HAS AN APPT. scheduled for the 29th at 2pm. It's at the correct embassy and I will be there with bells on. I am re-booking our flights. It will cost us more money, but I am not leaving without my Naija boy! We will be here until the 12th! I know others have not been so lucky. We wish everyone a speedy journey and bring your loved ones home, as well. The only thing is we have to go back for his fingerprinting because the computer went down. He should hopefully have it by Fri. We are praying like mad that he comes home with me on Sunday!!!!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	August 2008 fillers	If anyone has any dependants that have not been given a Social Security number (like my son), you need to get form W7 from the tax office and send it off with your tax return so you can get the child allowance on your tax return. Call the tax office if you file your tax returns via Turbo Tax and they will give you a temp. social security number to enter so you can get your child deduction on the form but it needs to be printed, the number needs to be cleared from the form using white-out and then submitted with the W7. The tax office will give you a tax number for your child that can be used each year from then on. It takes between 4-6 weeks for the number to arrive. Hope this helps someone. Good luck! Yes it will suck being married and apart, but hopefully it will only be 4 months, which in theory is shorter then the time after we got engaged that we were apart lol. Chris has already done his medical, applied for his FBI check and police check for the Aussie visa, im just waiting for some papers from home and we are almost good to go. As for the CR1 application it seems fairly straight forward (and there is a whole lot less paperwork in it then the Aussie one o.O) and we already have most of the things we need for it. I took in a folder which had the clear pockets in it. I had no problems there, I had paperclips which although appeared on the screen were ok to go through. I would think that they would know what the metal was, but would be prepared to take the stuff out of the folders if needed. Paperwork doesn't have to be in plastic bags. Be aware though that you must NOT take a phone in as they wont let you in and also if you have a musical card, leave it at home (mine had to be put in the rubbish bin before they would allow me in). Good luck, I am sure you will be fine. It is intimidating before you go in there but once there you will realise that everything is ok and be prepared for a wait. Otherwise you'll have to pay separately for the two documents. AP can be used in cases that isn't an emergency too. It takes roughly 8 weeks. If there is an emergency though, you can make an infopass appointment and expedite it and receive the emergency AP on the day. I've posted this elsewhere, but my grandfather died yesterday suddenly; I'm looking into getting emergency AP but apparently am not eligible as we haven't yet applied for AOS. I'm trying to get my K1 re-validated by the consulate so that I can go back to the UK and then use it to re-enter, but it doesn't look good. OH no Gemmie, I am so sorry to hear your news and even more sorry to hear that you are having trouble with the AP. I hope you can continue to fight this so you can go back and say your goodbyes.
