mine says between 12th and 28th, which is tomorrow, but I would not put any money on it coming tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure you'll hear some good news!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsOctober 2009 Filers

We're up by Feb 2, but that keeps changing based on the feedback and timeline updates of others. Back in December it said I could expect an answer by December 30th.

I had a 40 minute conversation with someone in power my Congressman's Office today, which left me feeling even more discouraged than before.
Did he offer to help me? No.
Did he give me any insight as to why some cases are pushed ahead of others? Yes.
Apparently if you are young with no history and no baggage such as previous marriages and no one else in the world has a name similar to yours...it's possible for your file to whoosh through the system of "checks" and then be put into a "milk crate" of case files going to an adjudicator.
Alternately, if you are like us, midlife with previous marriages, children, and other such baggage, with an oh-so-common name, your history maybe checked by one or more of the agencies contracted to investigate such matters. So your file sits in queue until all of the agencies have submitted their reports. Ah, that sounds like months of waiting.

Then...the milk crate (one or more; I'm unclear as to how many they take at once) is signed out by an adjudicator.
If you are lucky enough to get an adjudicator who works a lot of hours and processes quickly, you end up going ahead.
If you get an adjudicator who only works 2 days a week, your case is going to stay in their crate until he or she gets to you.

There are just too many variables that skew any hope of an orderly process that makes sense or seems fair to those of us whose lives are put on hold, who cannot spend the waiting time with the person for whom we are waiting.

Bottom line from my elected official's office: Call me back if you haven't heard anything in 4 or 5 weeks.
Oh I know, he's only doing his job, trying to justify the system, probably fielding hundreds of phone calls.
But I also think that as a taxpayer and voter in his district, part of his job is to make me feel that he is fighting for my rights, listening and responding accordingly. Definitely did not "feel the love" from this man.

I would love to post some sarcastic remarks here but I'm not sure they would further the cause of this forum.
However, I will be exercising my right to vote for or against this particular Congressman in the next election.

Glad you are all here to share.

Hang in there Laura and Christine, you'll have your NOA2 within the week.... It's coming and on a side note, by election time, all will be forgotten :) He will likely win another term with or without your vote.

Hey, Kab, what did you submit for the bank statements thing? I really don't want to send my entire bank statement to them. I'm wondering if I can just get something from my bank that would be sufficient.

My fianancial institutition was super fast in sending me a letter stating the final number of deposits of the previous year including when the account was created and the present balance. Here's the link to the I-134 instructions in part A

Hey, so for those that have gone on to the embassy now.....how were you notified of the NVC getting your application?

I'm not sure if I should be waiting for an email or a notice in the mail. A lot of the people seemed to have been notified of the NVC a day or two after approval so I'm thinking an email. But they could also have updated their timeline with the date that was posted on the letter.

In my case, I never heard from NVC automatically, nor did I hear anything from the consulate, automatically. NVC responded to my email request asking if they had received my case. Also the Consulate was very quick in responding to my email that they had the file by sending me an electronic version of packet 3.5.

Bacon! So happy and relieved for you! I was worried you were gonna storm VSC in person last few days! So that's your run of bad luck officially over. Do let us know if you got "touched" and if you got it by email or did it just turn up in the post?
Kabbatti, please now work your magic thoughts on mine, Laura's and the rest of the gang here. We would like it for next week please!

No problem, I'm sending out extremely positive vibrations for you and Laura J and the rest of the October crowd. I think Vermont peaks in at VJ and "greases the squeeky wheel." So start shouting and complaining. It worked for Bacon :)

This is one "I told you so" that I don't mind hearing. :) I really didn't think I'd get it at all. But I saw that there was one other person who had their NOA2 from the 22nd too. So it looks like they're finally around that section at least. It's slow going but at least it's going.

So how did you find out? Was it an email or the website?

Holy freaking hell!!!! I got the NOA2!!!! Oh, my goodness. I thought it was an RFE about me checking the wrong box on the birth certificate section.

I might actually make it for the June wedding and not have my sister want to kill me for messing up her wedding plans. :P

I am soooo happy for you, it's about freakin time aint it! I was right, eventually, about you wasn't I? I think I said "any day now" and later "well before March"

kabhattiMalePakistan2010-01-20 13:24:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsOctober 2009 Filers

Yeah, but was that after they had a bunch of requests processed out like what happened in September. In the last 6 weeks there has only been 19 processed. That's how much they normally put out in one week.

But thanks for the link though. Never noticed that before. Now I have something else to check out weekly. :P

True, but keep in mind, the stats we see here are only of members registered here on Visa Journey, AND, those who update their timelines. There are likely hundreds of others who don't know this website exists and whose petitions Vermont is working on.

Well before March! I still say it's any day for you.

I'm starting to wonder now if the reason my case is taking so long is because I was born on a military base in Japan. My mom says that they'd just have to confirm my birth with the Department of State which holds all military records. And I provided a copy of my FS-240 and my passport.

Bacon, I would officially start to panic after this week is over. Hang in there just a bit more.

Oh, my goodness!!! I'm happy for you. And congrats.

But at the same time I'm now so frustrated. I just got off the phone with my guy telling him that I feel like we're just getting screwed. I don't understand what's wrong with my application.

Don't worry, you could hear something by Saturday. Remember, I never got an email, the NOA2 just showed up in the mail last Saturday and the website is still showing Initial Review. Even though I got mine, nothing really has changed, I'm still waiting to see when NVC gets it, so far they have not.

Ohhhhh my god! Something I just figured out all on my lonesome... if people do NOT update their time lines.. the list doesn't update as fast! The Approved list goes by our time line updates.. I put N/A for my RFE slot and that is EXACTLY how it shows in the list! Is this how it works? Or is it just a coincidence?

Actually to see 53 weeks in the past by clicking on the top where it says "Stats Page (work in progress)"

I would say that we need a support group thread for Igor's list addicts, but if I know myself, I'd just be checking to see if there were updates on the thread every time I checked ol' Igor's list, and then nothing would get done... Man, I will be such a saner person when I just get that magical update from USCIS.

And then she told me "yes we have, its in Administrative processing now, and there's no time frame for that."

Like i said before, i was already prepared to wait 6 months before i wait my 3 months for it to arrive at GUZ...

Well, it could mean nothing, but if it is something, the only thing that changed on the USCIS site is where it says "last updated" It changed from Oct. 29 to Dec. 30th. That could mean someone or something moved it, opened it, dropped it, shredded it, threw it away or used it for a cafeteria tray along the way. I think we all get grumpy when we haven't been touched for 65 days, especially us men. But that was another thread awhile back. smile.gif

Then i had multiple errors on my part- not sure if it was going to be RFE'd.
But now that they've approved this soo quickly, it seems i owe them an apology!

Looks like your adjuster didn't go on vacation like the rest. We're impatiently waiting for our adjusters to finish skiing and get back to work. There always seems to be fresh snow on those Vermont hills this time of the year.

Best early B-day gift so far!

I was awaken at 6:45 this morning, as usual, the radio was blasting news and traffic reports. I grabbed my Blackberry and start checking emails received overnight and now being delivered. Nothing new, except a message about a failed hard drive on a server. Oh great, I thought, another tough day ahead. Nothing else, as usual. I put back the Blackberry and promised myself, a few more minutes. Then came 7AM, my Blackberry vibrated 4 times, two new emails, I assumed. I grabbed it, entered my password and, holy, there was one new email and one new text message! The only times I have seen this is when my options are opened, modified or executed, so I know this is something about my I-129.

I decided to open the text message first, it only said my case is updated. F***, I said, this is bad because should it say it has been approved?

Then I opened the email, thinking about the worst, searching for that "RFE" wording. Nothing. I opened my sleepy eyes, and found it, there it is, 5 lines down, "Current Status: Approval notice sent."

I jumped out of bed and call her with the great news. The rest is now history...

Best early B-day gift so far!

Yes, it seems you're the one that "tricked" everyone else's projected timeline to process around 30 days, only to quickly digress the other way.... not your fault, just your good luck.

Begun planning of course, but have not set a date. Setting a date is just too risky even though it seems like the process should take no more then 6-8 months. There's always that chance of AP, which is administrative processing, that takes additional time. Something we all hope and pray never happens to anyone.
