50 days exactly (if you count June 3 which has officially begun, as it is past midnight now). So not really two months yet. I know that is spliting hairs....but isn't 50 days better than 2 months (60 days?). 2 months is a solid 1/6th of a year extra away from our loved ones. Maybe it's one of those "character building experiences" we all love so much :bonk: :girlwerewolf2xn:

It will open. Unless the world ends first.

Sometimes patiently,
Sometimes not,
I'm still looking at the clock. :clock:

yeah that 1/6 of a year sounds sort of poopy but you know its been 1/3 since i have seen my sweetie. so thats even worse lol. well inchallah hopeful GOD please kick him in his bum and get him moving please please please.

I would settle for a note, something along the lines of "We will definitely not be opening to the public (this week/this month/in the next 45 days/etc). We will still be closed indefinitely, perhaps even after that date has passed." Something so we're not going to the consulate website several times every day, and every few hours popping a few blood vessals trying to WILLLLL it to reopen. It doesn't have to be a reopening date, just something to stop us, just for a few days, from constantly thinking, "Maybe tomorrow....Maybe Monday....Maybe...." on and on and on.

For something that is supposed to be looking after American interests, they are not looking after mine. Life is on hold right now. I'm trying to keep going, but I am just not as productive right now as I would be if I had some idea what was happening, some idea that maybe this nightmare will end with Morocco-US relations intact. Shoot, I've even considered that the consulate paid those two to blow themselves up just so they would have an excuse to close. That's just one of the unfounded ideas I have come up with (a nightmare not based on any facts really, so please don't misunderstand). I've developed some unlikely worries over this. Things that have very little chance of actually happening, but which would significantly effect me and everyone else who is waiting. Gloom and doom, very far from being sunshine and kittens and butterflies and rainbows and smiles etc. More along the lines of root canals, Mt. Vesuvius, loud neigbors all night, and being in a plane wreck, name your personal hell.

So yeah. Anything at all. What we really want is to be told exactly what is happening, and we're not getting that any more than we will get the kind of notice I mentioned earlier. This sucks, but you knew that already. I suppose I'm just venting.

:dead:

I'm so with you on this. All I want to know is WHEN!! I did email the consulate Friday to ask them how they plan to contact those that had their interviews postponed due to the bombings. No reply yet, hopefully Monday.

Take care

they are still closed but zakaria told me he was reading the paper a couple of days ago that condoleeza rice called and told him to open bc it has caused america to loose over a million dollars. but the ambassador came back to say that bc of the scare in rabat i think about 4 days ago on tuesday its not going to be easy to get a visa. it was on the paper zakaria was reading. so they said its going to be opening very soon. they have been saying that for how long? almost 2 months. well thats all i have.

Middle East and North Africainterview not so successful

this is really hard for me to type so i'll make it brief...

i went over the paperwork COUNTLESS times with my fiance about making sure everything was filled out perfectly, making sure we had each document necessary and it was the updated forms, photos, emails, conversations, phone bills, plane tickets, etc.

i've read disappointing stories here on vj about being sent the outdated form and when the person showed up at the interview, they were turned away because it wasn't up to date!

well i had the OPPOSITE interview. my fiance brought in the DS156 that was the newest 2007 version you can get off their website. apparently they wanted the OLD VERSION from 2004 that is expired and they made my fiance leave. instead of letting him hand in a new form that would take less than 5 minutes to complete, they handed him a form and made him leave.

so now we have to reschedule a new interview for who knows when the fukc it will be.

i'm crushed. i tried to do the right thing. checked everything 1000000000x and this is what i get. :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:

so i think i'm leaving ny. i was waiting here thinking he would be here within a few weeks, but now it looks like that is NOT going to happen. thanks for all the support last night and those who called/PMed me. i appreciate it.

-jen

QUOTE (wised up too late @ Mar 8 2008, 01:21 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello everyone!

Just wanted you all to know that Ryan was born on 2-26-08 via emergency c-section. He was exaclty 37 weeks. He was in neonatal intensive care until last Saturday night when the doctor finally gave him the ok to come home. He has been doing well all week. He weighed 6 lbs and 6 ounces and was 20 inches long. He has been such a fighter and he is a very happy and content baby now. Please keep him in your prayers as he contniues to recover. He did go to the doctor last Tuesday and he had gained 6 ounces. Now we will have to wait and see what the pediatric cardiologist has to say when we see him. Ryan had a lot of fluid in his lungs due to the c-section and had a very fast and irregular heartbeat. I was leaking fluid and that was what caused the emergency c-section. Labor was induced and as I progressed through labor, Ryan began having a hard time and his heart rate began to drop. The neonatologist was called in during delivery and the neonatology team saw to it the Ryan was well taken care of. He had one of the best neonatologists in the nation, which was an absolute blessing. At one point they thought that he had pneumonia (sp) and that they would have to put a tube down his throat to feed him. He never had the tube put in bc he began eating well. (i started him on breast milk...moms liquid gold) He had an IV for antibiotics and a bunch of other wires connected to him to monitor his breathing, heart rate, temp... Hope everyone else is doing well.

Mo

congratulations for you . Ryan is in our prayers here and I hope everything will be good soon. I am glad to hear he is eating well bc i know with my nephew who was born prematurely as well didnt eat good. God bless inchallah this will be a great begining for you and your wonderful family. God bless again.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresshould I be worried ??
So when I sent out the I 129 I did not send out evidence because the lady that helped me do it, advised me not to and I did not know I had to. Well almost six months later it was approved. Do you guys think this will be a problem at our interview??
KaskadaFemaleDominican Republic2012-06-15 21:13:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresChecklist?!?!
A checklist is usually a list that consists of something you either forgot to send with your documents, you answered something incorrectly, or their requesting your next set of papers. But hey you never know :) it might be packet four :)
KaskadaFemaleDominican Republic2012-07-13 08:33:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAll fees paid, all forms sent to NVC, what next?
Once all forms are sent in, you can call NVC and check to see if you're case is complete. NVC does not send you an email stating that your case is complete. Once they tell you it is, nvc schedules you're appointment at the Dominican consulate. Once your interview is scheduled, that is when you receive packet four, which is the interview letter. You and your wife should be receiving packet 4. You through email and your wife through mail. :)

I really need help, gathering all the docu :)

Do I still need to bring a copy of these documents to the interview?

Hey Heytoot :)

Its very important that you try and take copies of everything you submitted, to your interview. This is just incase they misplace something.

Good luck !!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI am just wondering on interview...

Hey Bonao2013,

It?s completely normal to feel nervous about your interview, a majority of us have been there or will be soon. Just keep a positive attitude and everything will be ok :)

As for the interview questions, if you go onto any Dominican members timeline (located on their page) you'll be able to view everyone?s experience which will include all sorts of questions.

What my husband and I did was review these questions a couple days leading to the interview. Our relationship is legitimate, but we just wanted to be as prepared as possible.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I wish you all of the best :joy:

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCanadian in the US

Since you had no intent to stay permanently when you arrived, you can file for Adjustment of Status from within the US. Here is the VJ Guide. http://www.visajourn...tent/i130guide2

If you choose this path, you cannot go home until you get a temporary travel permission called Advance Parole, which takes 2-3 months to receive. The temporary work permit will also take 2-3 months. After that (usually, though sometimes it's around the same time) you will have an interview for your greencard and once you receive that, you no longer need the temporary permissions.

If you aren't prepared to stay here for a few months without going home, then you can start the process for a spousal visa. You can continue to visit here (no work) until your allotted time is up (usually 6 months) and then finish the spousal visa process in Canada. Good luck to you!

This sounds much faster :)
Is the Adjustment of Status a different form or would the I-130 satisfy this?

I'm a Canadian and came to visit my bf of 3 years in the US and we decided to get married on the spot. I don't know what the next step should be in terms of filing for a work permit at least. I'd prefer to get something going to start working here.

Any help would be much much appreciated.

I just received what I am assuming is my biometrics appointment for December 27th. I got all excited and then I started to read the photo ID requirements. I am filing for AOS while in the US. I don't have a permanent resident card or alien card. My Canadian passport was due to expire within the next 2 weeks so I sent in to get a renewal, which required me to send in my old passport.
My question is will they accept my Canadian Driver's license as valid ID or does it need to be a US ID of some sort?

Believe it or not, she is still not 100% sure that we cleared all the hurdles because of a crazy story she was a witness to. When she was paying for DHL delivery before the interview, there was a woman in front of her in the line who was receiving her passport from the Embassy. Woman didn't speak or read English, so she asked one of the DHL people what the stamp in the passport said and the guy told her that she was denied a visa with no explanation given. The woman told everybody that it couldn't be true because she was told at the interview that her visa was approved. wacko.gif I find it really hard to believe, but I don't know the type of visa that woman applied for nor was I there at the time of the incident, so I can't really comment on it one way or another. wow.gif Any thoughts? huh.gif

I am just glad i found something for us so we didnt have to get married in a town hall. I would have looked kind of funny going in there with a nice fancy dress on...

The new plan sounds pretty similar to our old plan, but ours was over on the Canadian side, so we will be postponing our honeymoon until we have AP, there is noooooooo way that I am going to voluntarily go thro this process again.

I hope that everything pans out for you. As for the town hall, well thats where I am going in all my wedding finery biggrin.gif Its our day, we worked hard for it, so we are gonna do it as we want biggrin.gif

Are one way tickets too much? I know you need to go back in September but I agree with Dawn to just buy a round trip ticket when you need to go in September. I have no idea how much a one way is though.

In my experience one way tickets cost far more than a return trip. I have saved £200+ buying a return ticket which i didnt plan on using as opposed to buying a one way ticket. So worth looking into.
