Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 September 2011 Filers	Package is done and ready to mail it in 5 days. Cant wait to get it out of the house! Some of my fellow October filers have yet to receive their biometrics appointment so I wouldn't worry yet! Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 December filers	Sending our package off today, working on it as I am checking out the guide. My husband's conditional green card expires on December 8th so we are cutting it reeeeeeeeeeeeally close For some reason I am not worried about it, even though I have done a terrible job at collecting evidence over the last 2 years and reading nothing but the guide on top of this page + the instructions that come along with I-751. I let months and in some cases a year pass by before adding my husband onto certain accounts, lease, etc. but we entered this marriage in good faith and I believe everything will sort itself out, I am sending anything and everything I am finding around our apartment that shows joint accounts, address, etc. I remember when we were sending off our CR-1 paperwork there were different addresses for processing centers depending whether you are using a courier service/commerical services vs. sending it regular snail mail. I don't seem to find different options for ROC, so since we are living in Texas I am mailing our package to the following address via FedEx overnight: USCIS Vermont Service Center 75 Lower Welden St PO BOX 200 St Albans, VT 05479-0001 If someone could confirm that this is indeed correct and put me at ease that would be most helpful Looking forward to meeting all my fellow December filers and spending many, many months with you during this waiting game. Yes that's the correct address, it's listed on the I-751 instructions if you want to check yourself for your own sanity Just be sure to send documenting evidence over the span of the last two years. I met a girl online, and want to go to her in virginia to marry her because she cant come to egypt ... we cant get a fiance visa because we didnt meet physically, I know her for more than a year through FB, what should I do in detail ? thanks for you all This whole thread is a mess but I'd just like to suggest, PLEASE meet in person before deciding to marry. Knowing a person online is very, very different than having a relationship in person. And please don't come to the US on a tourist visa with intent to marry. That's immigration fraud and illegal. HI everyone, My husband will have to apply for removal of conditions on his CR1 coming up in June - I just wanted to know what is entailed with the Biometrics part of the process? Where will we have to travel for it? We are in Arizona. Thanks for the help! Biometrics is where you go and get your fingerprints so they can run a background check on the green card holder. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 October 2011 Filers	Seems USCIS liked my package I sent - no interview, no RFE - "The USPS reported that they picked up mail from USCIS containing your new card on March 2, 2012. You should receive your new card within 7 days." I normally checked their site each day - but the last week - I figured to wait till the 6 month kicked in. Congrats!! I apologize for making couple mistakes, and making it more confusing than I intended:) Your explanation about NOA was really helpful (and now I realize that it was defined in instructions too - I hate to be one of those people who do not read instructions ) . I have updated my entry accordingly. Interesting that Vermont processing center seems to be less prompt as compared to California. From reading forum, it seems that it is a trend for applications in Vermont to be processed slower? Thank you again for your help and have a great upcoming week. No problem It is very frustrating that VSC is so far behind CSC, yes It looks like a 7-8 month processing time for VSC, with some exceptions of course. If that's right..looks like we're waiting until May/June for approvals to start rolling in. I'd love to see it happen quicker but I'm not expecting it. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 October 2011 Filers	I would be nervous about moving as well, while in the middle of the process. They haven't got that great a rep on the change of address thing either. Is there anyway you could consider that he commutes if he gets the job? Stays there in the work week, and then comes home? That is a possibility but it would be an expensive one! We'd have to pay double rent in PA and NY which would definitely stretch the budget. I've been looking at apartments and town homes near where he'd work and there's nothing comparable to what we're paying now. NY is expensive! I really hope the job is flexible with a start date but I'm not sure how long they'll want to wait :/ I'm leaning toward not moving yet because, like you said, they aren't reliable with address changes and I'd be nervous even if they send it went through. Phil has a possible job opportunity in NY (right now we're in PA) working with my brother-in-law and making a lot more than he makes now. He's in the beginning stages of interviewing there but we're hesitant to move until the 10-year Green Card shows up. I know people do move in the middle of the process, but I'm worried that if we move and change our address with USCIS, something will get messed up. What if we miss a letter to appear for an interview or something and the case gets abandoned? I'd really rather stay put until he gets the GC, but if VSC is going to be another 6 months, I also don't want to miss the job opportunity for Phil (and the opportunity to live closer to my sisters/family, which is our ultimate goal). Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 October 2011 Filers	Hi All! Wow, what a lovely surprise to come home from work and get an APPROVAL LETTER! A total surprise. This letter is not like other letters I've gotten from USCIS... it's just a normal piece of paper, no seals or anything like the NOAs. It's also signed by the Director of our Local USCIS Office. Not to be paranoid, but is this kind of approval notice normal? I just wanna make sure it's not a practical joke! But here's what it says: "Congratulations! Your request for the removal of the condition basis of your permanent resident status has been approved" etc.... We'll be moving in 1 week so I'll have to call USCIS and make sure they send the GC to the right place, if it's not already in the mail! (Looks like folks have been getting GCs within a few weeks of approvals...?) Wow, I'm just so happy, and I'm really hoping the rest of you will get this good news very soon! Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 October 2011 Filers	Our year is going well, new baby is great and I just started back at work a week ago :/ It's bittersweet - I would rather be with my baby but it is nice to be back into an established routine again; it helps me accomplish more. As far as job searching, I do recommend education - partially because you get to work with a new group of students every year (usually) so it makes it slighly less monotonous. This is my 6th year teaching and it's nice to have a beginning and end to each school year. It's fun to count down until summer with the students Glad to hear things are going well! I just found out one of my friends used to work at a university nearby so she's going to e-mail her old supervisor to see if there's an open position. Here's hoping! The state university here only gives 50% off to employees (I think) and definitely not more than 75% if I'm wrong. Yeah I've been applying to many colleges & universities around here and they all have different policies. Most pay for tuition for up to 3 classes per semester once you're there 1 year..not too shabby. Some only pay 75% though. Either way would be a huge help though! It could let you build on your experience but transition away from social work. I'm a little biased, but you should look at MPH programs. They are pretty flexible and will generally let you customize them into what works for you. I've definitely been applying to public health jobs! I'm focused more on finding another job rather than going back to school. Grad school is in the back of my mind though. So, I have been checking this topic for the last few weeks... Nobody got approved in California center yet... i know, it's all just talking, with immigration you never know but can anybody estimate at least when Cali center can possibly start sending them cards for us "Octobers"? I even went to the last year October topic and most of people last year had cards by now ((( Not fair... I know, Vermont is even slower but C apparently sucks too now. Can definitely relate to being burned out on a job. Just hit 5 years with my current employer... Glad to hear! I'm been going back and forth on whether or not I want to pursue my grad degree. Not sure what I want to study so that'd be step one I'm in social work now and even though I've only been doing it a little less than 3 years, I feel like I've been here forever. I'm ready to explore a different industry, or at least a different population! The job market here, in small town USA, is pretty terrible. They closed a big plant down last summer, and that added a couple of hundred more people looking to find work. I've got a pretty peculiar to one job sort of skill set. All of the similar employers here won't look at you without citizenship. I've got no idea why, in NZ I did the same work and I sure wasn't a citizen there either. I've even got a USA qualification, which has been no help at all. Yeah it's terrible when that happens..nothing to do but keep looking while you sit on unemployment.
