Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 October 2011 Filers	If it is a matter of getting the job or not do you need to wait to have it in hand? The NOA1 letter is the same as having a green card for working purposes. I realize it's a bit harder to explain to HR but it is legal. Pretty bold angle to work; hopefully it turns out well for both of you. My boss just waited a month or so for someone to start who had other commitments but she gave a firm starting date; immigration kinda leaves you in limbo. Do you think it's worth it to stake your future on VSC? It's not that we can't use the extension letter, I'm sure this job would be fine with that. I just don't want to move, change our address with USCIS and end up missing some important document (i.e. an RFE, interview letter or the GC itself) if, God forbid, they sent it to our old address and it didn't get forwarded or something. I know we're being overly cautious but I'd rather not risk them thinking we abandoned the case at this point if we "failed" to respond to something because we move. I'm just hoping this job will either start Phil remotely until we can move or wait for him. The other possibility is that Phil could move up there and start while I stay here but then we have something further to prove to USCIS if we're living apart. This is just a pain.. Phil went through the entire interview process at that job I mentioned a while back. It's located in NY but we've been upfront with them regarding the GC and about not wanting to move until it's in our hand. My brother-in-law works there and is pretty high up so I'm hoping they'll be more lenient if they really want Phil to work there. He's gone through all the interviews and it's been 2 weeks and we haven't heard a 'yes' or 'no' yet. I just hope they don't write him off simply because of this GC nonsense. I'm already not happy with USCIS, I don't need another reason. I'd really like to move up to NY because my sisters live there and this would be the perfect opportunity for it if Phil got a job offer. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 October 2011 Filers	Hope you had a good weekend as well:) It is indeed interesting that the small sample population of I-175 applicants that is present here shows so clearly how much more efficient CSC seems to be. I am also sad to report that the "currently processing" date for I-175 is still June 20th at VSC.. I have been checking the "currently processing" date daily (yeah, I am pretty desperate.. )and it has not changed for couple of weeks... seems like I have been looking at USCIS (previously INS) website for one or another reason for the last 10 years because I had different visas in the past: B2, J1, F1 and also went through journey of getting conditional GC after marriage. How amazing the day will be when I can forget all about USCIS website.. EDIT: just had a "duh" moment after I read the small print on USCIS website that processing dates are updated monthly on or about 15th... looking forward for the new update in a couple of days. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 October 2011 Filers	Thanks for the feedback however I already put together the RFE package and mailed it just today. It was the most convoluted RFE I have received and I've gotten 3 so far. The other two were much more specific. This one contained a blue sheet of paper, it said RFE and my wife's case information. Stapled to it was a white sheet of paper stating various documents I could send to show a valid relationship. As I said I had already submitted all the suggested documents but now have gone above and beyond. My package contained the following new information. I also included some previously submitted info but won't list that. 6 Affidavits from, friends, family and my landlord as I stated. My landlord lives on site so he can attest he has seen us together almost daily. I included his business card also. Bank statements from the inception of our account to present + a voided check (we previously sent only one statement) Actual health insurance cards not photocopies. I happened to have duplicates on hand. About a dozen new photos Travel receipts. The travel receipts amount to almost $10,000 which I summed up and put in chronological order for them. Everything is in a tidy package with an index as the cover page. I am praying this is enough. I am out of ideas of what else I could send them. If this fails I wonder what is next? An Interview? My wife and I would agree to an interview. We have lived together daily since we met and have nothing to hide. That said I would prefer not to have an interview as you never know what kind of oddball questions they are going to ask. If I had to guess I think it will be enough. I think often the RFE's of this type are meant to scare you and see if you will step up to it or drop it entirely. It sounds like a great list. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 October 2011 Filers	I was very surprised and very annoyed we got an RFE. However I think my additional evidence is quite compelling. I've gathered 6 affidavits from friends, family and our landlord attesting to the validity of our marriage. I also have vacation travel receipts dating back to the beginning of our relationship to present day. I have a few new photos and will be submitting duplicates of our actual insurance cards this time. I very rarely get offended in life but I am offended we got this RFE. We seem to get them every step of the way and I even used a lawyer up to the point my wife entered the US and he did excellent work. It seems they don't like the way we look as a couple or the country she is from. I know they need to prevent fraud but I feel they are being excessively critical without basis for our relationship. I will be very happy when this is done and hopefully is the last time I need to deal with the USCIS. I understand that...it's a shame that those who do cheat the system make the process that much more difficult for those who actually have legitimate marriages but still get scrutinized under a microscope. After this I know Phil & I won't be dealing with USCIS for 10 years because I doubt he'll apply for citizenship. I was quite surprised by this as I provided. Joint Tax returns Joint Bank accounts Health insurance cards for us both About 30 photos of us together all over the United States A will bequeathed to us each as the principal beneficiary A living will designating each other as principal determinants A jointly signed lease I am planning on sending: about 10 new photos Affidavits from friends, family and our landlord attesting we are married 25 travel ticket receipts with both our names on them printed from Orbitz and Travelocity I am resending the information about joint bank accounts + a Voided check and resending the information about our jointly filed tax returns Anyone feel free to chime in if you can think of anything else or if you think this is enough. That stinks, I think your original list of evidence was quite strong! Do you have other documents that show co-mingling of address? I know we sent copies of our driver's licenses which have the same address on both. We also sent utility bills for PECO (under Phil's name) and Verizon (under my name) for the same months showing the same address as well. Hi guys... I just realized when we went in for fingerprints on Dec 14, 2011, we walked out empty-handed....no record that we went.....did this happen to anyne else ?? I I don't want them to screw up and say that we never came in for fingerprints I just pulled out Phil's biometric notice and they stamped it with the date we went for our appointment. They also stapled the number they gave us while waiting. This should serve as proof. Hopefully they did not take and keep your biometric appointment letter.. ? Exactly! That is the thing that's keeping me sane...knowing that there are many on VJ still living thousands of miles away from their loved ones while waiting on USCIS; we are blessed! Hopefully that means that we will see approvals faster than people who submitted in June, since the volume of I-751 filed were highest in June and March. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 October 2011 Filers	it's been 5 months for me (California). I'm loosing my patience and I have curcumstances, I need my card (or at least RFE by now). I'm thinking about writing them, calling would be too early I guess (I have to wait until 6 months for that, right?). Also since we sent I-751 package, we've got some more evidence (car together, lease and some other stuff). I almost feel like just sending it without them asking, do you think it's a good idea? I don't want to be rude but there are plenty of people still waiting for approvals and many have been waiting longer than 5 months. We all have circumstances that warrant a quick approval. I wouldn't recommend sending in any more documentation, it will probably get lost. If they need something else, they'll send an RFE. You can always call if you like but they won't be of much help unless it's been 6 months for CSC. Even then, unless you speak to a level 2 officer, they will just read you what they see online which is the same as you can track on the USCIS website. Congratulations to all who got their GC : )Thanks RebbecaAndPhil for adding me on the timeline : ) Man, What is going on with VSC? Unbelievable. Anyway, I just got back from the Philippines, stayed there for 3 weeks. I just want to let some who have worries in travelling outside the country with their expired GC to NOT worry at all. The officer just asked me "did you know that your GC is expired?" I told him "yes" and told him about my one year extension and showed my scanned papers (I left my papers, so I have it scanned by my sis in law and email it to me), he looked at it then that's it : ) I hope that at least one from the VSC filers will get their GC by April. It is taking them too long. smh Thanks for sharing, that's good to know! I don't think us October VSC filers will see any movement until at least June. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 October 2011 Filers	Not sure if I mentioned this earlier or not but Phil and I found a place in NY and we are moving Sept 1st! We're very excited It feels like we're starting fresh with USCIS being over with, starting new jobs and moving closer to family. All good things! Updating my actual date on letter (7/24 vs. 7/27 on email). We were able to get back in the country at ATL POE without too much hassle. Although the officer looked at hubby's extension letter and said "You've had this for almost a year and it still hasn't been approved?" as if it were our fault. I told him it had actually been approved while we were gone but the card was waiting for us at home and I could show him the approval email if he wanted, but he didn't ask for it. They drive me crazy! Glad we are good for 10 years! The new gc is pretty and a lot different! Anyone know what "New Classification Symbol: IF1" means? Glad you got back in the US ok! Not sure what IF1 means but Phil's says that too. So I received this beautiful three blue pages stating "USCIS has been unable to obtain a required FBI criminal background clearance for you because both sets of FP were rejected as unclassifiable by the FBI" Submit the following evidence instead of a FINGERPRINT clearance to satisfy the criminal background check requirement: 1. Your own signed affidavit regarding criminal history supported by police clearances or police records from each place you resided from the date you acquired conditional PR status to the date of this request. No fingerprint is required and what I need is to write my own signed affidavit-no notarized is required. Is that correct? 2. ... 3. Locally issued police clearance instead of state issued police clearance. You are required to submit locally issued police clearance from localities that do not offer state issued police clearance. The cities I was in previously do not issue the police clearance (they are in the same county though) but I can get the police clearance from the county sherrif office instead. Is the county police clearance will be ok / accepted by USCIS ? Thanks everyone for your respond. One more hurdle to get thru all this. Hopefully after you're through this step you will get your approval and GC quickly! I'm not sure about the county clearance's so hopefully someone else can shed some light on that! I have been reading and searching on this website for awhile but never got around to registering until today! Congrats to those that have been approved! My letter says they received my package on Oct, 24, 2011 and I have yet to hear anything from them. I recently started checking everyday since the service centers have been coming around to Oct. filers. I will keep everyone posted if I receieve any updates. If you'd like to give us the dates you mailed out your I-751, issue date of NOA and biometrics appt date we can add you to the list! Hope you get your approval soon! Thanks for hanging out with us even when you are done with your long journey:) Good luck on your weekend trip! We're all in this together! Besides I would feel super lonely if everyone else had gotten approved and left and I was still waiting. We're going up to NY this weekend again to meet with the landlord of the place we applied to. Now that we have the GC we are good to move whenever! Our list does seem "backwards heavy" in that people who filed later in the month were approved before people who filed early. I will never understand USCIS' system!
