Bumping us back and bringing latest list before it gets lost in the shuffle ;) I'm guessing we're at 100% approval for CSC because the last approval, EOS38, hasn't logged on since Dec 2011 to update us. Still hanging in there VSC filers...

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 October 2011 Filers

Hi there,

We filed in October 2011 with VSC as well, with our first receipt notice on 10/12/2011, but we are also still in initial review. How and where do you find out who is being approved and on what applications they are working? It sounds like 10 days ago they were working on September applications. This seems to be taking forever.

Thanks.

It IS taking forever! <_< We are just following the other threads to find out where USCIS is in approvals. The September thread started moving with approvals from VSC so we knew what month they were in. You can also check their website here: https://egov.uscis.g...TimesDisplay.do but it's not too accurate as it says they're still in August and clearly they've moved onto September as well! Hopefully October will start seeing approvals in July, fingers crossed!

Seems like CSC takes 5-8 months to process and VSC 8-12 months, gruuuu!

Yes, unfortunately!

Hope you all had a great weekend. Phil and I spent it with my family and we did a family triathlon yesterday, it was so fun! We had gorgeous weather all weekend :)

that's great Becca. I hope you guys hear something soon from them..
As for us, I am contemplating if I should apply for my mom's tourist visa so she could be here with us for my graduation from Nursing school, or just wait for my citizenship and not take the change of getting denied from USEM. So far we are leaning more to the latter. I will be submitting my N-400 application in August so I guess, I am not stressing so much with this ROC.

But I hope we get the approvals coming in! So far, we're hearing good news.

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation! I hope VSC keeps up this new found speed :star:

I just saw that a filer from VSC from September just got approved. OMG, is this for real.. they are actually doing their work.

How's everybody hold'n up?

OMG I can't believe it!! Another person was approved so we're at TWO Sept approvals :o Is this real life?!

We are holding up well. Still waiting to hear about a job offer for the job in NY for Phil. We're checking up with them next week since we need to give our landlord notice of our move by the end of July if we are moving.

At what approval percentage do USCIS usually continue on to the next month because August is at 63% approval rate? I feel like they might be moving on to September soon  Let's hope!

Great...right after/during our trip. I was hoping to have the 10 yr card in hand before leaving but it doesn't look like that will happen.

I know, same here! I'm more worried about missing an RFE/interview appointment then having troubles at the border. I suppose even if we do get an interview, they can't schedule it within the week they mail the notice can they? I would hope they'd give more notice than that. Otherwise, we might miss it if we're out of the country! We're planning on going to Canada for 4 or 5 days in mid-August.

They are breezing through August pretty quickly though, already above 60% approval rate! Maybe they'll get to September by the end of June? Wishful thinking?

I see lot of filers from Oct, 2011 are still waiting for their approval. Same thing here still waiting and havent seen any change to our status on the CIS web-site, still under " Initial Review".

Thanks

DJnk

I'm guessing our thread will start to be adjudicated in August 2012.

Great news! I am sure you are very excited. Isn't it interesting how things in life just work out sometimes... as much as it is painful to wait so long for GC, it seems that things are falling in to places where it will not have negative impact on your plans....

Best luck!

Thanks! Yeah I really think God planned this one out for us :) 7 August approvals, we're moving up! Hope they don't lose momentum :P

Well we heard from that job Phil applied to in NY where my brother in law works. They definitely want to hire him but because of current changes in the company, they don't have a timeline yet for a start time. I guess this is fortunate news for us because we really didn't want to move until we get his 10 yr GC anyway. I just hope it all lines up at a time that works out!

That's great news that VSC has moved into the August filers.

Good luck to all who filed with VSC. Looks like approvals for this group will start in July.

Greg

Nice to see you again Greg! Couple more months to go for us!

Hopefully it is a sign that things are speeding up there across the board.

I hope so!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 October 2011 Filers

Awesome! I did not expect them to update the processing statuses, considering they just done that on 30th of April, but it is great to see that they are mowing (VERY SLOWLY) ahead... I was not even going to check that site for another couple of weeks, so I am glad I stopped by here to get the good news from you :) .

Are you hoping that October will be done in July (I am...)? Not that our hopes matter, but we might as well start some guessing game to make this less of the torture... I am guessing that your approval date will be July 12th and mine will be July 20th :)

BTW, what do you guys make of the fact that CSC is also showing Aug 1st as processing date for I-751?? I thought they were 6 months before the update? Whoever is posting the data is not doing any logical check on it....

I sure am hoping for July as Phil and I are visiting Canada in mid-August. I know we can legally travel with his expired GC and letter but I'd just feel better if we had the 10 year GC by then!

Just checking in. Still no VSC approvals, eh? Poor guys! Actually it's 6 weeks not 3 months of unpaid leave for maternity leave. yeahhh I knowww. Sucks. I'm 21 weeks right now so a few more months to go and junior will arrive =)

You must be excited!!

This wait is getting ridiculously long... still no August approvals which means we are no closer to approval than the beginning of May. What is wrong with you VSC?!

Phil's parents are in town from Canada. They were telling us how Phil's sister is going back to work soon since her baby is almost a year. She was on maternity leave the entire year...getting paid! :wow: Canada gives women a year of paid maternity leave while the U.S. just promises to keep your job for 3 months but offers no pay. Hmm...If USCIS/GCs/Visas weren't such a headache and hassle, living in Canada may be in our future

Agreed, but it wasn't my point.

4th of July is national holiday. No mail delivery and I honestly doubt anyone was working at VSC that day to issue a NOA.
So, there are no real cases from that date, are they?

Hmm, I'm not sure what it means when they say they're processing dates as of July 4th. I know they have handed out approvals on days I wouldn't think they're open - holidays, Saturdays, Sundays, so perhaps they did process NOAs on July 4th. I'm not sure.
RebeccaAndPhilFemaleCanada2012-05-02 18:58:00
Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 October 2011 Filers

Apparently their current stated date is always the single oldest case currently being processed. It is possible that July 4 represents an outlier and the center of mass of the longest pending cases is actually several weeks later.

Yeah hopefully August 2011 filers will start getting approved this month..one step closer..

Just wanted to point out: the USCIS VSC processing times have changed again as of today! They are now processing I-751 cases as of July 4, 2011. That's a bit more comforting than May 2011! I guess they either fixed their previous mistake or worked at warp speed the last few weeks ;)

I don't mean to get overly political on a nonpolitical forum but I'd say the USCIS process has been the major interaction with the US government in my life. Based on how slow and sloppy this whole process has been I would be very worried about a government run healthcare system. I am all for reforming healthcare but after all the rigmarole with the USCIS I want the government out of my life not more in it!

Agreed. This system SUCKS, to put it frankly.

I sure hope it's a mistake of some sort!

Phil and I just got an invitation to a wedding of a friend's in Canada in August. I'm hoping he has his 10-year GC by then. I really want to go either way though so I hope the border doesn't give us ####### if we need to use his expired GC and extension letter.

Oh my gosh you guys... I just checked USCIS' processing times and it's updated as of today. They're now even FURTHER behind than they were last month! They're now processing cases as of May 13, 2011 rather than June... UGH! This is so frustrating! :ranting: :ranting:

the letter is I-797C,NOTICE OF ACTION THE RECEIPT DATE IS 10/24/2011
AND THAT THE ONLY DATE ON THE LETTER

I see, so the date we still need then is the date you mailed OUT your I-751 :)

Thank you! :)

:D Thank you guys for your respond appreciated very much but I WOULD LIKE TO POINT TO MY NOA I RECEIVED IT ON 10/28/2011 SORREY FOR THE MISTAKE

It's actually the NOA1 date on the letter we'd need, the date it was issued by USCIS

Still nothing, but I guess that's to be expected when they're 3 months behind CSC. I do wish VSC would move along.. and I hope they won't give us any RFEs when they get to us. My husband was diagnosed with a degenerative incurable disease in the last few weeks.. I want to live my life with him without having to worry about a piece of plastic..

I'm sorry to hear that, Starcookie. I'm in the same situation. My husband was diagnosed last year, and getting steadily worse since the start of this year. He is 61 years old, and a cancer survivor, just coming up on 29 years. Now he has an entirely different issue, and will require transplant, if he qualifies, and a donor becomes magically available. I have more on my mind, as do you, than playing silly games with the government. If they want to interview us, or send me an RFE for my ####### fingerprints, it's going to mean a nearly 4 hour trip, each way, to the "local office", and I don't know how he will tolerate that.

I just wish, as a government body, that they would get their shite together. Just this once.

I'm really sorry to hear about both of your situations... I can imagine that this silly ROC process is the last thing either of you want to be worrying about right now.

I've just gone into both centers list of processing times. As I was scrolling through looking for the I-751, it seemed to me that the CSC list was shorter. On comparing, it is shorter. By 15 types.
So, there appear to be 15 types filed for and processed out of VSC, that do not appear on the list out of CSC. Here is one only on the VSC list:

I-212 Application for Permission to Reapply for Admission into the U.S. After Deportation or Removal Readmission after deportation or removal May 2, 2011

Things that make you go hmmmm...perhaps that is why VSC seems always so far behind.

Hmm yeah that's interesting. Maybe it is why they are behind...

Adding naji1995 to the list. I added your NOA1 date from your timeline - weird you got your NOA1 after your biometric appointment! As HeatDeath said, you can see all of us in the October filers VSC are in the same boat - no one has been approved yet. And actually, it's CSC that's "promising" a 6 month processing, not VSC. According to VSC's timeline on the USCIS.GOV website, they are processing cases from June 20, 2011. If you read the little excerpt at the top it says "IMPORTANT: If your receipt notice date is earlier then the processing date shown, we suggest you call our USCIS Customer Service Office at 1-800-375-5283 for assistance." This means that until that processing date says October __ , 2011, we all have to sit around and wait. :(

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 October 2011 Filers

The way I read it is that if you file the change of address and something bad happens, you are off the hook and they expidite your paperwork. Kinda like a safety net. I'd need to do more research too though.

Yeah.. I talked it over with Phil and we're going to wait and see what happens with this job first. He's got to have an offer first and then we'll move on from there. I think Phil is still nervous to move at all which I understand but I definitely don't want to miss this opportunity.

Ok off went the RFE package today...wish it luck everyone! :luv:

Good luck! Hope you're approved quickly!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 October 2011 Filers

I was thinking about this for people who move and don't get the RFE (if there is one):

What happened: USCIS issued an adverse decision based solely on a customer’s failure to appear at a biometrics appointment or failure to respond to an RFE, NOID, or NOIR

Why it was a mistake: USCIS determines there is evidence that the customer properly submitted a change of address prior to the issuance of the RFE, NOID, NOIR, or biometric appointment notice; howeverUSCIS sent the RFE, NOID, NOIR, or biometric appointment notice to a previous or improper address.

This allows you to get an expidite. It's item number 3.

Ohh I see now! I'm definitely going to look in to this. I'm not sure how the expediting process works. Perhaps I can call and speak to someone who would tell me if our situation would qualify for expedition. Thanks! :)

Ha well first I have to get it mailed. I have a couple of thousand more electric bills to print off tonight then off it goes. Very heartening to see they move quickly though. Congrats Wasabi!!

Yes hopefully it won't be long!

You forgot doing this at their desks: :pop: plus sleeping, if we had that icon.

Haha definitely :)

Have you checked the news link?

You mean the request to expedite? Do you think we'd qualify for that..?

On another note: I just noticed today is our 6 month mark from our send-off date of the I-751.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 October 2011 Filers

RebeccaAndPhil,

I understand your issue as I was in the same boat few years back. Right after getting temp green card, I moved to Philly and within 2 months moved to cleveland for more stable job.
Now I am back to central NY which I consider as my home in US. My wife (USC) had to move with me all these locations. No more packing of boxes now. We haven't updated uSCIS about our moves until we have applied in Dec 11 for remvoal of conditions. USCIS sent renewal to old address (our fault). Since we know we had to apply before 2 years, we didn;t had a issue.

I work for a Fortune 200, my first interview never took place because hiring manager doesn't know what is green card is (forget about temporary or permanent). I had to call HR and apprise them about it. HR knows GC but never hired a gc holder so thet had to refer HR policy. WOW GUYS. This fortune 200 was located in central Ny and for me this is great opportunity to come back home. Luckily they didn't like other guys so they interviewed and I got selected.

I am pretty sure there are many companies that don't know what Green card is :bonk:

I wish you all the best

Thanks for sharing! It certainly is frustrating, this whole process. I mean, I understand why USCIS takes immigration so seriously but I really wish it didn't take 9+ months to remove conditions on a GC...

This is how I picture a day at VSC -> 8-9am: Let me see what I missed in this morning's paper...:reading: 9-10am: "Oh! Jane! I have the best gossip you just HAVE to hear..." :secret: Noon: "Is it 5 yet?" :clock: 2pm: Something to pass the time... :joy: 5pm rolls around... I didn't approve one application today! Oh well!

Me = :wow: :protest:

If it is a matter of getting the job or not do you need to wait to have it in hand? The NOA1 letter is the same as having a green card for working purposes. I realize it's a bit harder to explain to HR but it is legal.

Pretty bold angle to work; hopefully it turns out well for both of you. My boss just waited a month or so for someone to start who had other commitments but she gave a firm starting date; immigration kinda leaves you in limbo.

Do you think it's worth it to stake your future on VSC?

It's not that we can't use the extension letter, I'm sure this job would be fine with that. I just don't want to move, change our address with USCIS and end up missing some important document (i.e. an RFE, interview letter or the GC itself) if, God forbid, they sent it to our old address and it didn't get forwarded or something. I know we're being overly cautious but I'd rather not risk them thinking we abandoned the case at this point if we "failed" to respond to something because we move. I'm just hoping this job will either start Phil remotely until we can move or wait for him.

The other possibility is that Phil could move up there and start while I stay here but then we have something further to prove to USCIS if we're living apart. This is just a pain.. <_<
