Good news guy seems like they are moving along now! Just received my NOA2 via email. My lawyer has yet to call me and give me the good news and it is going on 12pm and I've know for nearly 4 hours now.. mad.gif How can these so call professionals take peoples money and not do the work? mad.gif This website has been a blessing I learned here everything that should have been explained by my lawyer...For newcomers YOU DO NOT NEED A LAWYER FOR THIS YOU CAN DO IT YOURSELF. Guys,I know that its really hard, the waiting aspect of this and it's not as reassuring as if you actually received the NOA2 look at me just yesterday I was crying my eyes out crying.gif . I just want to offer any support I can YOURS WILL COME. GOD IS GOOD!

Yeah but God doesn't work at USCIS apparently...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWhat's the longest people are waiting for K1 approval???
QUOTE (ochef @ Feb 20 2009, 04:54 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Pim and I are approaching day 150 (The average seems to be 108 days) since our K1 on Sept 19. I have received no RFE's and only one touch in January.

All the timelines show a much shorter average but I see many listed from Aug, July and June...that stiill have not received there NOA2.

So, how long have some waited without RFE's and why might these applications be taking so much longer?

Also, I am traveling to Thailand Next week to deliver my I134 and other info even though I have not received a NOA 2 yet, is there a problem with getting these forms done early...before Noa 2 arrives??

Thanks All

You should wait for the I134, the embassy likes to have an affidavit of support showing how is your financial situation "right now".

I have to admit... I'm going a little nuts here. How I wish they would process the petitions in the order they receive them!

I'm more than just a little nuts, since this RFE story my life is centered around USCIS, it's driving me crazy, I hope it will soon be over , I can't stand it anymore, I miss my baby more than ever.
Do you know exactly when does the file go through the security check?
My fiance thinks our delay is because of our RFE, they asked for a copy of the original of my divorce certificate (we sent only the translation into English), because he says the certificate doesn't look too official (it's a 2 page document , signed, stamped so very official smile.gif ). I don't know what to think anymore....Maybe the file is stuck at the security check (I don't know if it's done before or after a RFE), maybe our files is lost on someone's desk.
Sorry to bother you guys with my problems, my thoughts....I lost my optimism after this RFE, it's not me anymore.

Ok, I'm totally worried now. In France our "divorced certificate" is just our "Birth certificate". On our birth certificate we have the mentions "divorced" with dates and place etc... I only sent my translated copy because they ask : All your documents have to be in english.
So it was translated by an official translator, with stamps, dates signature and mention : "Mister X sworn translator to the court of appeal of Douai, I certify the within and foregoing is a true, full and correct translation of the french original instrument as the same appears on record and file in my office etc...."
Do I have to be worried ? I really thought that they ONLY wanted the official translated document.

oh wow they havnt approved your petition yet? thats terrible!

i hope they do soon, but ive noticed on a few occasions that they tend to take their time on UK petitions, maybe its because they assume the couple can easily visit one another with visitor visas anyway? lol

unlike from 3rd world countries which the beneficiaries would have no way of visiting the US outside of a k1 visa

My man told me that he heard about how long can be the immigration for UK and Canada. I don't know why and that sucks !

like late dec?

by the way, the immigration timeline is at june 14 now. . .

No your SO will not be here THAT soon. No one in dec for CSC will see that. We will see IF we are all lucky the end of January to the end of February.

Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between November 21, 2008 and November 27, 2008*.
This means California MIGHT (compared to other VJ members) approve the NOA2 by this time. Sometimes it is even a month later and it depends on other factors as well. THEN you have about 1 to 2 months for the medical and interview.
SO expect Jan OR feb my dear.

No one can know that. Maybe we will be approved in 3 months and then it depends of your embassy. I know for exemple that France is not too bad... So who knows ? It is 80% or 90% sure that we won't be approved before end of november but well lets be positive !

And I always wondered, what if my fiancee was from Netherlands and legally smokes marijuana? Are fiancees banned from the USA if the do something in another country, which is legal in THAT country but illegal in the USA?

Marijuana is not legal in the Netherlands, rather it's been decriminalised, meaning that the punishment for possession is minor and generally not even enforced.

My heart goes out to Adam and his fiancee for these unanticipated challenges, however I still believe telling the truth is best. I think Adam has a great attitude about the situation and the couple shall be together soon, one way or another. All the best.

Sorry but you are wrong...! Marijuana is totally legal in Netherlands ! You have to follow rules but it is def legal :

It's legal to buy weed at a coffeeshop and to smoke it there (when you are 18+) , or at home (so not in public, but the police doesn't mind if they see you smoking) but, it's illegal to have more than 3 plants at home so if you have more it's illegal. The transport from the place where you grew them to the coffeeshop is illegal too. But when it's in the coffeeshop it's legal again.

cool cool cool félicitation!

the interview for me went that way:
- I passed the security
- I took a ticket
- I waited for my number to be called
- they called me a first time (windows on the left): they just took my convocation, asked me if I has all the documents and told me to go sit and wait
- then they called me again at that same window, same lady, and she went through all the documents I had brought (not in dept page by page but she check that everything is there) + she ask me a few question (address, when he plans to fly to the US and so on).
- 3rd and last call (there is no actual call, it's a board that has the numbers) : I went to the window in the middle to talk to the Consul. The interview can be either in French or English. She asked me how we meet, what Kai was doing, what I will be doing there, when we will get married. she didn't ask me for any evidence (like photos, travels tickets or anything).
- + I had to go back to do the finger print a few day later.

so that's how it went for me. altogether it took 2 to 3hours.

I'm sure it will go fine for Jérémy smile.gif

Unfortunately it is not a RIGHT, but is merely an option that is subject to normal entry procedures.

By "the right" I mean that it is not forbidden. It is maybe a french/english mistake sorry.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresTravel during process
Hey everybody,

I think that the best reply to this question would be : It depends of the officer at the airport. Cuz' it is totally true !
I used my waiver program 3 times already :
- Beginning of dec 2007 (I stayed 90 days)
- End of march 2008 (I stayed 90 days)
- End of july 2008 (I'm in the US right now and leave end of october)

The 2 first times the officers didn't ask me a lot of questions, just the regular 2 ones (Why are you here ? How long will you stay ?). Last time I came to the US the officier asked me more questions (I stayed Almost 2 hours at the airport). At the beginning the officer was kinda rude, he began by : "Ok ! We won't lie to each other, you are living in Oxnard with your boyfriend on a waiver visa and it is not good"
I began to explain, and to reply honestly to his questions. He began to relax as soon as I talked about the visa K1. He said "oh, so you will have to go back to France for your interview". He gave me some advices for the next time I would try to come to the US and let me get in the US.

So, it really depends of the officer. If your fiancé or spouse has no problem (and if she doesn't use her waiver program a lot she won't have problem) she should not talk about the visa K. But if she feels some kinda danger and thinks that the officer is not a nice guy/girl, she should talk about it as "the last chance".

But seriously, I called the immigration several times, I also called the US ambassy in Paris, I met a law officer last week and EVERYBODY told me the same : YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO VISIT THE US WHILE YOUR VISA K IS PROCESSING.

Hope I helped
Juliette

He replied Juliette Dumont (me) in july 2008. He put an affidavit of support with our 129F petition in july 2008 cuz' it was supposed to be faster.
But it was for the same person and the same K1 visa, I'm scarred that they take that for 2 affidavits, so not enough incomes.

US Citizenship General DiscussionMy husband is no longer married to an alien
QUOTE (jeangab75 @ Aug 27 2009, 08:57 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Thanks a lot ! C'est une info précieuse pour moi smile.gif So I think that I will get the US citizenship ! Dans tous les cas mon coeur restera tours français !

Hello there,

Like promised I am letting you know that I received my Oath Ceremony lettre today.

It is on august 27th at 805am (blah) at the LACC

See you there :)

Ju&JaFemaleFrance2014-08-02 18:06:00
US Citizenship General DiscussionN-400 March 2014

You have to bring your permanent resident card to the oath to give it off at the ceremony.

Once the oath is over, you will be issued a naturalization certificate as proof of of your new U.S. citizenship. This naturalization certificate replaces the permanent resident card that you would have given off. You will need to show the naturalization certificate to apply for the passport as well as to update your Social Security.

Merci beaucoup !

For passport you will need Naturalization paper that you just received ( sign it) form that they gave you on interview, picture and check.

To update SSN you need to wait for naturalization paper to be mailed back to you and I think nothing else.

Thanks for the infos
