Hahahaha ! I can even tell that in restaurant here in the USA they put tons of sauce EVERYWHERE ! Each time I ask for beef I say "please no sauce and please I REALLY want it rare with blood and everything". Oh and I really hate meatloaf, for my french mouth this thing is just insane and horrible.

We are waiting for our papers to show up at the NVC. Hard copy of NOA2 arrived no problem but nothing from the NVC...I'm starting to get worried again.

It takes longer for ppl from the California center bc the NVC is on east coast. To know if your folder is arrived you will have to call the NVC. Jamie received the NVC letter maybe 2 or 3 weeks after they sent our folder to Paris.

I'm not too worried about scheduling now. The big thing for us was just getting back on track. Background checks are a black hole that not everyone gets out of as easy as we did...and we were there 3 months. (We still have some things like selling the car, etc. to take care of in Brasil).

GET that ticket bought, dont know where you're looking to buy it but I went direct to the airline (British Airways) and they worked out a lot cheaper than some of these "special deal" places that advertise the "lowest rates" star_smile.gif


I looked on british airways. 2 weeks ago it was 515 euros Paris/London London/LA LA/London London/Paris, but now it is 690 euros sad.gif
I don't know why cuz' the petrol is very low these days. Anyway, I will have to buy it today, the cheapest one is with American Airlines...




would it be cheaper to do as two seperate flights ie Paris - London return. London - LA return?
The other thing i found with American Airlines was if i had the return portion date within 4weeks of flying over it saved £120

So maybe have a look at the dates you've put in, spend some time seeing if you adjust them to coming back within 4weeks you get a better price...you won't be using the ticket anyway so does it matter when its due to return????

I have just looked on AA and if you went CDG-LAX via DFW 522 euros...pain having a stopover, but guess London would be classed as a stopover.

LHR-LAX direct 391 euros, not sure how much it would cost you to fly Paris-LHR and you would need to check in by 0910hrs but can't see it costing more than 300 euros even with stopping in a hotel @ Heathrow overnight.

For the above i used the dates 27th Feb until 24th March, as soon as i went past 27th March the prices increased real steeply.

But if you use the return portion in Sept you will be in the same position again when you leave France to return to the US??!!

Sometimes it's cheaper to get flights US-UK-US so that may be worth looking at now for your sept return to France. Get the cheaper ticket to US for 27th Feb and book a whole return flight from US in Sept...also on the plus side if you're not going to use the return part this time you may be able to get your taxes back...

I looked to go from Lille (my city) to London by train, and then Londan/LA. The pb is that the train arrives in St Pancras and the flight will be in Heathrow and I don't know if it is far, I have no idea...

We still have about two weeks until the interview date, so we keep coming up with new things to worry about. blush.gif


I had my medical exam the day before the interview. The doctor told me that I was fine. Then I went for the blood test and didn't know when I left what were the results. Then I went for the lungs scan and they told me that everything was perfect.
The day after I went back to the doctor just before my interview, she looked at my lungs stuff, she gave me my blood results and a sealed envelope for the embassy.

We got Nick's SSN two weeks after he got here - giving his status time to update in the system from the POE. Now that we have that he can get his drivers license - open bank accounts etc..
His SSN card says right on it 'not valid for work unless authorized..." We'll file for his EAD (employment authorization document) when we file AOS after we get married.

I'm already looking for what I am suppose to do after I arrive in the US... The lady at the embassy told me to go to my local office and ask for a SSN and a work authorization. I am kinda lost cuz' I thought that I had to do that after the wedding. What did you do Nick ?

Yeah, it's not one month between NOA1 and NOA2..Expect at least 4 months. And, I honestly have not had one person on this forum tell me exactly why it takes longer for different applicants. I can buy the 'each case is different' theory to a point, but why would it takes more than 7 months to get my NOA2 and 4 months for someone else -- 3 months is a hell of a long time and I still don't get that......


I can tell you that for some people (i roamed on a french forum on the internet) it takes 1 month between NOA1 & NOA2. And i know that for most of the cases it is between 3 and 4 months to get it. I just wondered how a folder can be on top of the other ones...

It is all about available resources, volume, backlog and current petition/application priority.... CSC has never been fast (4 - 6 mos typical)... VSC until recentlly was (previously as fast as 2 weeks...)



6 months between the NOA1 & NOA2 ??? I thought that it could takes 1 month (if you are super very lucky) to 4 months (if your good karma is in the restroom)
