Can anyone tell me, if we have put On the I-134 that Patrick has life insurance of 400,000 do we need to bring evidence that he does have this or should we be ok because he is way above the poverty line?

forgot to add, my interview is tomorrow and somehow we missed this! Will it affect us getting the visa do you think?

I read somewhere on this site that the USC should send a copy of the NOA2 to the Beneficiary along with a copy of the entire I129F Petition that was submitted.

Doesn't mean that you will need it, but it was reccomended :)

Good luck !

I have absolutely everything now, i made my fiance send me the NOA2 just to be on the safe side!

Thank you

Just print out a paycheck stub. It will all be alright! Dave went to the window and all they asked him for was the I134. The woman that took it was in the middle of arguing with her coworker. They didnt even ask him for pictures or any other documents, like the tax transcripts. I was freaking out for a couple of daying thinking that might put us into AP, but he got his passport delivered 4 days later.

Thanks! I think i panic! I have got 6 months worth of pay slips, letters from his boss, W2's, Tax Transcripts for the pass 3 years so i have resigned myself to think there is nothing more i can do :)

Thanks for your reassurance though. Congrats on passing your interview!

Hey

I am wondering in anyone can answer a question i have. I have my interview 2 weeks today and i was sorting out my paperwork. I was reading the letter my fiances company gave about his pay.

The dilemma i have is my fiance is in the airforce and gets a base pay per month, a housing allowance per month and an allowance for substance per month. We have completed the I-134 to reflect all of this into his annual income but the tax forms only show his base pay. As the housing allowance and substance allowance adds $14,770 onto his yearly annual income i am wondering if we should be putting just his base pay on the I-134 or all of what he earns (even if the added $14,770 doesnt show on his tax form)

Argh, i am so confused! Do you think i should get my fiance to complete another I-134 with just his base pay and also take the other I-134 with his base pay, housing allowance and substance allowance and explain this to the officer in charge at the Embassy?

We are above the poverty line on both pay packets, i just dont want anything to jeapordise us getting the visa.

Thanks

So you had a choice of days with the medical appointment? Maybe I'll have him call on Monday and book it. I suppose if they are a month out or so then our file should certainly be logged by then! Thanks for the info. I want to be on top of it but not TOO far on top of it and have it get there and people say who the hell is so and so? LOL

Hey

First of all, do what is right for you! When i phoned up for my medical i could get one within two weeks. The first time i phoned up i got asked if i had received my packet 3 and when i got told no they said i couldnt book a medical without it (saying that, i know many people on here have) but like i said, there were loads of dates and i could pick which one i wanted. Because i didnt want an interview until Feb time i chose to book my medical end of Nov and send all of my packet 3 forms off and send the checklist at a later date. This did and didnt work for me, it didnt because they lost my checklist and for 6 weeks we were in Limbo but did because i scanned the checklist through to the embassy directly and got an interview date a week later on 2nd Feb!

What im trying to say to you is do what is right for you and your fiance, although were all going through the process everyones experience and timeline is slightly different. You could whizz through this process (yeah right!) or you could be held up by little things (like the embassy losing my checklist) all you can do is ensure you are as prepared as you can be by getting everything together.

Have you found the link for Packet 3 on here with all the forms? If so, start completing all of those now and then when your packet 3 does come through you'll be ready to send them right back. Get all of the documents you need for the interview ready and if you can see if you can book a medical (you can always book for mid Feb, the results usually only take a couple days to get to the Embassy) that way, you should have your packet 3, sorted your forms to send back to the Embassy and have the info you need for your interview.

Good Luck!

It sorta drives me insane that I know that our file is there and that it takes soooooo long just to log it in. I have the LND# but I am apprehensive to book a medical without our file being logged into the system. I dont want to book the appointment and for some reason the file still not be logged in. Ugh...it would be nice if they would just pacify us and get the stuff logged in so at least we can feel like we are moving forward a bit...I feel like I'm in limbo :(

Have you had your packet 3 yet?

I'm coming from Bristol, double vodka for you, just a coffee for me, t-total :) but i think that might change lol. Im not sure what we have to take with us, its all explained in the pkt 4 i believe. From what i see on here, i expect the process to take about 4-5 hours, but even if it took 9 hours, 9 hours is nothing compared to the waiting we have had to endure to get here. This is the final step, it make go quick or it may drag on, either way, we will get there.

That is so true! I feel like i have won the lottery and i have not even been granted the visa yet so just imagine what im gonna be like if they approve me!! I feel so good today

I remember when my interview date came. Such a wide mix of emotions; I felt utterly drained by the end of the day. Luckily Feb 2nd isn't too far away for you (I've had to wait four weeks for my date to come around). Best thing I've found for the waiting-just put it to the back of your mind. Start getting everything together (depending on how organized you are) about 10 days before.

My interview is tomorrow. I'm feeling strangely numb about it all at the moment.

The Embassy lost my forms for 6 weeks and i had to send them to them via email last week so the 6 weeks was agony but the interview, i didnt expect it half as quick!

Good luck, im sure you'll be fine! Let us know how it goes and if you can, a full report on what they asked you wouldnt go amiss.

yeah, mine is 9am feb the 2nd also. Fancy going for a coffee before........more like something a bit stronger i think :D

Where are you coming from for your interview? A drink sounds brill.......vodka and lemonade please (double)!

Well, if we both get the visa well have to go for a celebratary drink! If you see me at the interview, feel free to chat to me, from what ive heard we have quite a long wait

Quick question for you, do we need our NOA1 and NOA2 for the interview?

We sent in our P3 stuff to the embassy 1st week of December, called the rip off line just now, and they haven't even got the paperwork. Does anyone have any idea how much longer we will have to wait till i can get an idea on interview dates? Just that virgin Atlantic are having their sale and its damn cheep, even upgraded premium econ and a date change still works out cheaper than normal :)

Hello, I am just wondering if you have heard anything? I sent my IV-15K off on the 25th November and called numerous times to be told that it just hadnt been logged yet, it had been logged but something was wrong etc etc. I called the Extortion line just before Christmas and they said, no nothing wrong just waiting on the last bit of paperwork. I then called the extortion line again last week as still nothing and got given the 'code' to email which i did. Today i just got an email telling me of my interview date.

If you have not yet heard anything call the extortion line, ask if you can email and then send a scanned copy to them (when they request it) via email. I sent mine on the 8th Jan i think it was and 6 days later an interview date.

If you have heard, good luck, i hope you get your interview soon.

Lesley

I would email the consulate if i was you. I sent my IV-15 and Checklist on 25 Novemeber and they have not recieved these but have recieved the other packet 3 forms i sent on the 6 November. I just called the consulate today and they told me oh but its christmas and new year so may take longer but IM WORRIED! What if there is something wrong or they didnt recieve them? At least if i email them they can tell me whats up. Urgh, i cant wait for this process to be over :(

So yeah, in my experience get the code, email them and find out if they are processing your forms, if there is a problem, if they have not recieved them or if it is just cause of Christmas and New Year.

Good Luck!

Hi people! Merry Xmas to one and all.

My first post, so a little back history, until I get my profile sorted.

Well, I'm going through the whole K-1 process (which was started with the original petition being sent at the beginning of October).

Myself and my fiance have been a little surprised (pleasantly) with the speed of the process.

I am now at the stage of having my Packet 3 and just getting ready to send off the D forms.

I've managed to fill all the forms out, with some confidence...but!...there's always a but, isn't there? Even though, I have found this site a mine of info, much appears to be outdated, or contradictory depending on where you look. In all fairness, I can understand this though....trying to cater for many nationalities and a process itself that is confused, must be a nightmare to document.

Anyway, back to my "but"...Confusion reigns as to which forms to sign and date, out of the Packet 3 documents? I see much guidance, to just sign the DS-230 Part 1. But looking at the forms the DS-156 looks sign-able also (the DS-156K and DS-157 are self explanatory really). So nothing like asking the guys with their hands on the Visa already.

My god, just trying to remember the forms, my mind turns to mush tongue.gif

Anyway, I will start to update my profile, while encouraged by the success stories here smile.gif

Hi Martin and welcome!

Ok, so i have looked over all of my photocopied forms that i sent in and the following are the forms you should and shouldn't sign:

DO NOT SIGN:

DS-230 PT2
DS-157
DS-156K

Although saying this any extra sheets of paper that i sent with these forms i included my name, DOB, my fiance's name, DOB, our case number and signed and dated them.

DO SIGN:

IV-15 / Checklist
DS-156
DS-230 PT1

Hope this helps and good luck!

Hello

So just to let you know i called the London Embassy 'rip off' line and spoke to someone last night. He told me that they are just waiting for my checklist to be logged and although i sent it 3 weeks ago sometimes it can take up to 6 weeks to log! He told me that they have not sent me a letter and not to listen to DOS as at this stage in the game they have no idea what they are talking about if it is not written in black and white on the screen!

Thank god there is nothing wrong! I was a little worried for a minute!

Merry Christmas everyone!

In this kind of situation, I think it'd be prudent to shell out the $15 or so to call the embassy and find out what the real deal is on all of this, especially since you've heard so many different things. You can call from the UK or the US and the numbers are listed on the first page of this thread.

But yes, Frosty is right in that in past member's experiences, it can take up to 2 weeks or so for the documents to get logged...

Thank you to both of you, i have waiting now for nearly 3 weeks since sending the checklist and also got told yesterday that they 'supposidly' sent me the letter on the 1st Dec which would definately have got to me as that was nearly 3 weeks ago.

Justine and David - i think i am going to call the hotline and find out the deal, it has been 3 weeks and im worried if i just keep waiting and something is wrong then basically we will put ourselves back even more and its already been 6 months!

Thanks for all the advice.

Hello

I was wondering if anyone can help me or tell me if they have had a similar experience. I sent in all the forms for packet 3 minus the checklist in Nov and sent the checklist in at the beginning of Dec. Since i have done that i have called 3 times to see if my interview had been scheduled and been told 3 different things:

1. First lady said they had logged packet 3 but had not given me an interview date so there might be a problem, when i asked what problem she said she didnt know!

2. Second lady told me they had not recieved or logged packet 3

3. Yesterday the lady told me that they had sent my packet 3 to me at the beginning of Dec. I told her that was not correct and actually they had sent it beginning Dec and i have sent back all my forms now. She said that the computer was saying that something was missing and then when she looked again she then piped up, 'oh the embassy have sent you a letter as they are missing a document so cannot schedule your interview without it'.

I have sent all the forms that were requested in packet 3. Do you think i should resend them again with a cover note explaining all this? Or do you think i should phone the premium line and ask what is going on?

Im so confused and the only thing i can think is it is because i sent the forms for packet 3 and the checklist seperately that maybe they have lost one of them. Has anyone else had anything like this? I just want an interview date!!

Thanks and Merry Christmas

Lesley
