Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 November 2010 Filers	Since I got 2 appt letters with 2 different dates, (12/23 and 12/30), I called USCIS and they said they can only FOUND 1 appointment date and time for me - which is 12/27!!! what!?!?!?! If I hadnt called, I wouldnt even know that date. They said they will send me the 12/27 appt letter, and ask me to go in. So I will have 3 letters on hand. Should I even try to go earlier than 12/23? I actually couldnt make it to 12/23 as I will be at another state. Any advise??? Personally I think I'd try to do a walkin earlier than the 23rd, and bring all three letters. It seems that most people who have tried this have had no problem, and that way you are covered no matter what. Plus you will know it's taken care of and won't have to worry about it while you are away. Okay, so they are two different numbers then? I guess that means NO ONE can see theirs online until they get the bio appointment. I did not know that. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 November 2010 Filers	I applied my 751 on Nov 9th and my check was cashed on Nov 15th. I haven't got any notice letter USCIS. What am i supposed to do if I don't get anything from them? Can I call to request an apt or walk in? So they received it sometime between the 10th and 15th. By this point, you really should at least have your NOA1 (which is also your one-year extension letter). I'd try calling them. Your receipt number will be the 13-digit number that appears on the back of your check under where they endorsed it---beginning with the 3-letter prefix. You SHOULD be able to get that by asking your bank for a copy of the back of the check. You can also use that number to try to check your case status online, although a lot of people do not show up on there (like us).	SonoranSongbird	Female	Canada	2010-12-08 15:35:00

Apparently if you don't get your Biometrics appt within 30 days of the date on the NOA receipt, they will issue another appt. for you. Guess our letter must have gotten lost in the mail? Booo... (i keep hoping it will turn up today !) That's good to know. I mean it's good information for the rest of us in case the same thing happens to us or someone else asks; it sucks that they muffed up. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 November 2010 Filers	Abranch and KangLang, the list is using the date on the NOA1, not the date it arrives in the mail. They seem to be a lot faster at actually issuing the NOA1s than getting them in the mail. Mine was mailed (postmarked) 4 days later than the date on the NOA1, and there is one person on here who said theirs was postmarked a week later than the date on the notice. You're both still within the kind of timeframe you can expect based on the time they've taken for the rest of the people in this thread, and you will probably have your NOA1s in the next few days. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 November 2010 Filers	Hey there, I noticed a lot of folks received their Biometrics already even though their NOA dates were later than ours. We still haven't received anything. How long should we wait till we start to worry or call USCIS? We are Louisiana... maybe things just take longer down here? (Or does your state location not mean anything?) Thanks. I would assume the location DOES effect at least the date that you are scheduled for (the more backlogged the local office that does them is, the later your appointment will be), but I don't know if that also effects when you get your appointment letter. Canada	Ever had doubts?	I have not read the entire thread, but my 2 cents, for whatever it's worth, is this. It is possible to meet the right person and still marry them in the wrong time. This was the case for two friends of mine. They went through severl VERY TOUGH years before working things out and now have a truly wonderful marriage. I have other friends (well, actually, the wife of the couple is the one who gave me a link to visa journey so I won't go into much detail) who were a couple for something like 7 or 8 years before beginning their immigration process. I and my husband knew eachother for nearly 4 years before becoming a couple. One of my friends married her husband after she'd actually known him for 26 years (having met as teenagers). You are both young, and waiting for your circumstances to improve before embarking on this journey will not deprive you of a lifetime together. I am in my 40s and my husband is in his 50s, and even at our age I don't regret the years we spent as friends (we were attracted to each other but neither acted on it because we both assumed the feeling was not mutual). In the scheme of things, that is very little time compared to the rest of our lives, and those years, like the ones that preceded them, were a part of us becoming who we both are as people. If you put it on hold, too, it might take the pressure off of you and allow you to talk more freely so you can grow as a couple. I'm not saying waiting is definitely the answer for you. I don't know either of you and don't fully know your situation. But it is one option you should consider. Best of luck to both of you, whether your future is together or not. Canada	US Healthcare going Public	My husband, likewise, has had no problems with health care in Alberta. One big difference between Edmonton and the community the OP describes is size. I live in a small town in rural Illinois and there are not a lot of doctors to choose from. Fortunately, we are 35 miles from St Louis, which has several very good hospitals, so if either of us ever needs any highly specialized care, we will be able to get it. We do also have a GP we like--but he is out of network for our health plan so we pay extra to see him. The worst place I lived was Springfield, Illinois. I have insurance---at that time I even had really good insurance---but when I got bronchitis shortly after moving to Illinois I could not find a doctor willing to take new patients without scheduling an appointment 2 to 3 months in advance. Well, d'oh, I needed to get an antibiotic THAT DAY. I know that is a problem in parts of Canada just as it is here, so having universal health care is not going to solve that particular problem. But it will solve other problems. As to cost, that varies considerably from region to region, so it is not surprising that people have such varying experiences. For us, an office visit costs $130. Because our insurance company has a contract with our doctor limiting what he can charge, it is reduced to $52 if we have not yet met our deductible. Once we meet it, the insurance company pays 80% and we pay 20. They would pay 90% if we went to an in-network doctor. A lot of plans are better than that, a lot of other plans are not as good. When I lived in southern California, I had no insurance. I had a doctor who was willing to see me for $60. I don't know what his full charge would be. He said he could afford to charge less because he did not have to deal with medical billing companies and the mountains of red tape they entail, but in all honesty I think he just did it out of the goodness of his heart. I did not take a picture, but there was also a little aviary with doves in it. Canada	Odd Pets	We just have a dog. I have had birds, fish, hamsters, gerbils, and a rabbit and a mouse. I'm not sure I'd consider any of those all that unusual, but they are not dogs or cats. My first pet, when I was 8 years old, was a crayfish named Bridget. We had crayfish for a class project and no one else wanted to take home "Queen Crabby" because she was the biggest crayfish and they were afraid of her, so I took her home and renamed her Bridget. Canada	Having a tough time...	Hi, Laura. I've not read the entire thread, just the OP. Anyway, I did not grow up in the same city as any of my extended family. My cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents all lived in Philadelphia and I grew up in upstate NY, so about a day's drive or one-hour plane ride (then my grandparents moved to Florida, which was further). We saw them regularly, just not daily. I'm not all that close to any of my cousins, but that is mostly due to the age difference. My mom's sister's kids are 10 years older than me and my sister, my dad's brother's oldest daughter is 10 years younger than me, and the youngest is I think 15 years younger. Actually now that my younger cousins are grown women and the age difference matters less, I am getting to know them better. But I was VERY close to my grandparents and am close to my sister and aunt and uncle. I did not feel deprived by not living in the same town as my extended family. For the I-129F, all you need to do is prove you met in person one time in the past 24 months. You don't really need any proof that you have a bona fide relationship until you get to the consulate (we sent some emails anyway, figuring that way it is in the file already along with whatever we bring to the interview). When we had our interview at the Vancouver consulate, all they asked for in terms of proof of a relationship was to see pictures. I only had about 8 of them, and only 2 or 3 had us together in them (there was one of my engagement ring when I first got it, another of my then-fiance with my dog, and a few with one or the other of us in Jasper National Park).
