Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 RFE	A power of attorney is basically a legally-binding written authorization allowing someone to represent you or to act on your behalf.   For example in New York State where I live, there's something called a "Health Care Proxy" that you can fill in and sign to name someone as your healthcare agent. Whoever you name on the form will be able to act as your agent (i.e. make healthcare decisions for you such as whether or not to initiate/continue/remove treatment or life support) if you are ever temporarily or permanently unable to do so. It also includes a section for any specific wishes you may have with regard to your healthcare. Your agent has to follow any written directives when acting on your behalf.   Edited to add that the Health Care Proxy is a legal document. For example if you and your husband are only able to receive mail through a PO box with only his name on it then you would put his name in the box. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	(RFE) Need help understanding what exactly do they need	Sounds like the tax returns you submitted were incomplete.. did you include your W-2s in the original submission? Perhaps you should request tax return transcripts from the IRS. These will contain all the information they want. They are free and you can request them by phone, online or in person at an IRS office. We ordered them online and got them in the mail in about a week. Don't know if the government shutdown has affected this service, but the online request form is still up and running.   And yes, they want to see actual bank statements, not just a letter stating when your account was opened. Send them copies of full statements for each quarter since your bank account was opened.    It also sounds like they need more evidence to make a decision on your case so send them anything else you can think of that shows you live joint lives.	caly	Female	Singapore	2013-10-11 12:47:00

We only opened our joint bank account about 10 months pior to submitting our I-751 petition. Just got approved today with no RFE.. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 August 2013 Filers	Hello all,    Just Mailed I-751 to CSC on 8/14/13 with Copies of the passports and green cards of my wife. Copy of the joint bank account statements for 2011 and 2012, and 2013  A partial copy of our 2011, 2012 joint US tax return. Copies of various car insurance notices. Copy of the title of our car, showing joint ownership. Copy of our Credit cards showing a joint account. copy of AAA membership cards and renewal statement  Copy of utility bills which only one name is allowed on the bill, so we have several bills of each name at same address to show our financial lives intermingled. Pictures of our vacation to Yosemite national park, CA, Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, CA,  Universal Studio, CA, Lake Tahoe, CA ..But found out we forgot to include  "the affidavit" in the I-751 package.   Is it going to be a problem?   Will be appreciated your comments,     California Service Center    VJName.................Date of I-751....NOA1 Date......Biometrics......Approved... Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 August 2013 Filers	Joint Renters Insurance is fine, I guess you are sending copies of the actual lease agreements. Also make sure to include at least one full account statement per quarter.   Oh good idea! We'll send the lease agreement along with the affidavit from our landlords (my name was never added to the lease when I moved here - it was about to become month-to-month and we didn't want to renew for a full year in case we found a nice house to buy... which hasn't happened yet!  ).   And yes, we will be sending at least 1 full statement per quarter for everything where applicable.   Thanks, Navyk!	caly	Female	Singapore	2013-08-01 13:53:00

I don't really understand why we have to go through this process. Is that because of the government shut down?? Non-f-sense.    BTW, would you or someone put my case into the CSC list please? I honestly don't know how to put my name and update the lists. Thank you so much.    If by "process" you mean the transfers, then it's just because VSC is currently backed up.. Transfers between service centers happen all the time and shouldn't adversely affect processing times unless they somehow lose your file. In fact, recent trends seem to suggest that getting an I-751 transferred reduces the time it takes for an approval.. sometime by a lot!   What's the date printed on your transfer letter? Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 October 2013 Filers	So our case got transferred recently.   I know it's a random crapshoot but I really hope we can go through this process without an interview, considering we already had an interview for the AOS.   I sent in a boat load of documents, but I think the following should automatically get us the ROC.    Her parents, brother, aunt, best friend's family, etc all came to California for the wedding. I included pictures of my family and her family together in the application.   She updated her family registrar "Koseki" to update her marriage status and new last name. From what I've heard few Japanese women actually do this. I included the koseki and translation in the application.   I flew to Japan to attend the K-1 interview and went back again to pick her up. All in all I went to Tokyo 17 times in the last 7 years, including 5 times in 2009. I included copies of all the passport stamps in the application.   Shouldn't we just get the new green card automatically at this point?     I vote "yes"! I have no knowledge about waivers and such.. but I've read many posts on VJ that recommend the http://immigrate2us.net website when dealing with the possibility of having to file waivers and other such sticky situations. You should be able to print them once your payment status has changed from "in process" to "paid". Then mail your AOS and IV packages with their respective coversheets to NVC. K-3 Spousal Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Being 'touched'....how do you know you did?	Hi everyone..I've been on this site gathering as much info as possible. I am in Canada and my wife is in USA (California). We have an I-130 that has been received by USCIS OCt 27 2010. I read the process times for the California Service Center indicates approx 5 Months. Everyday I check and it still shows 'Initial Review'. However, I read the status updates here by members and I see a date followed by 'touched'...how do you find out that your case has been 'touched' LOL...this waiting game is killing us. Sorry for the newbie question but I'm stifled Thanks! Basically they attach a barcode to your petition when they get it, and every time the file is moved or looked at by someone, the barcode is scanned and the date is logged. Once you have registered your receipt number to that newly created account with USCIS, you can sign in to your account to check your case. You'll see a table in the format: Receipt Number, E-mail Alert, Mobile Alert, Last Updated, Form No., Form Title Every time that "last updated" date changes, you've been touched. USCIS Service Centers	Why is Vermont Service Centre taking so long?	So I was just looking at the VSC timelines after I had input my NOA1 information and got told that there was not enough data to give me an estimate for NOA2. Anyway, it says someone (no link to profile) who filed IR1/CR1 on march 1 2011 got NOA2 on march 11. Asia: East and Pacific	IR1/CR1: US Embassy in Singapore	Hi everyone, In a bid to educate myself and my husband about the IV process, I've been looking fervently for any additional information regarding the Singapore consulate (aside from the official reviews and information provided on the site). So far, I have come to the conclusion that there does not seem to be too many people on this site petitioning/applying for IV via the embassy in Singapore at this time, and no really bad horror stories of this embassy so far - for which I am thankful. Pretty sure Singapore isn't considered a high fraud country. Nonetheless, because I'm getting highly paranoid as the husband and I prepare to embark on our journey, I have to ask: does anyone know of any potential red flags scenarios or any Singapore-specific tips that can help to make the process less painful for everyone involved? For those of you who have gone through the process, we'd love to hear your experiences! Hopefully this can be a thread for past, current and future applicants via the embassy in Singapore to share information.
