IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHELP! Urgent! Visa for my Wife!

Questions Regarding AOS and IV Packet:
5. On IV Packet according to EZGuideSpouse #7 item i- ) Original/Certified divorce decree of the beneficiary's prior marriage. We both got divorced, do I need to include my original divorce decree with this IV packet as the petitioner??
6. Lastly, can I mail the AOS and IV package at the same time in two separate envelopes but in one express mail envelope??

Thanks for your understanding – I just want to do this stage real slow but surely. From Darell, page 2 #21 he said,
I must pick 2” and those two are GOOD and CHEAP, disregard FAST!!! Thank you all, have a nice day... and God bless!

5. You don't need to send your documents with the DS-230. Remember, the DS-230 pertains only to the applicant/beneficiary. They should already have a copy of your divorce decrees as you would have sent it with your I-130 packet. Make sure to get the original/certified copy to your wife so she can bring it to the interview.

6. Yes, you can.

I'm afraid you'll have to wait for someone else to come along and answer your questions about the I-864. I'm not sure about that as we didn't need a joint-sponsor and don't want to give you wrong information.

Best of luck!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHELP! Urgent! Visa for my Wife!

Thanks a lot Ryan! I called NVC today and was told that they have my file and to wait 2 weeks for my case number. But I mentioned my request to expedite and he said, ?to go ahead and email the nvcinquiry@state.gov - Attn: PI Supervisor Sue and all pertinent information!?

Question:
1) When NVC received this file is this still called ?Petition or an Application now??

2) When is the right time for beneficiary or applicant to email the DS3032?

2a) When we get the case number or wait for NVC to email us?

3) What does AOS and Packet 4 Generate bill means?

3a) Will NVC email me regarding the payment of these bills?

Thanks again in advance for your prompt attention regarding my questions!
Have a nice day or night! As always best regards... :innocent:

1. What's on file at NVC is still your I-130 petition. The application is the DS-230, I believe.

2. We emailed the DS3032 immediately after getting our case number (before they emailed us) and had no problems. But I've seen that other people have gotten replies that their DS-3032 cannot be processed yet. If that happens, just email it again. Remember to give the operator your email and your wife's email address after you receive your NVC case #. The DS-3032 must be sent from your wife's email address.

3. NVC will generate an invoice for your Affidavit of Support (AOS) and Immigration Visa (IV) bill. I'm not sure what the packet 4 is, exactly. Maybe someone one else can help you clarify that. Anyway, NVC will email you when your AOS and IV bills are ready for payment. You can sometimes pay before you get the email. Get your Invoice Identification Number (IIN) from the operator when you receive your NVC case number so you can log into the website to check even before they start emailing you.

So, 2 things to do once you get your NVC case number: give the operator petitioner and beneficiary's email & get your IIN#.

Good luck! :)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresPolice Certificate - Singapore

I am in the same boat. I am planning to get a statutory declaration. One of the lawyers I spoke with is asking for $200. Could anyone recommend a more reasonable lawyer?
Thanks

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresPolice Certificate - Singapore

It might work. My fiancee brought in the letter from the packet that the embassy gave her and they allowed it with that. I don't know if NOA2 will do it though becuase it doesn't specifically ask for a police clearance like the packet letter does. You could try though. It might work.

I was hoping to apply for it right after NOA2 so I can send it to my husband along with the rest of the stuff for the DS-230. I'll try using the NOA2 notice + a print out of the DS-230 instructions (listing the police certificate as a requirement) off the NVC website. Worth a shot, right? :)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresPolice Certificate - Singapore
Hum,

On a related note, how does one apply for a police certificate in Singapore? The instructions on the application form states

Photocopy of document from relevant consulate/immigration authority/government bodies to establish that the certificate is required by such authority. All documents are to be translated to English if written in other languages.

Will a photocopy of the NOA2 notice of approval sufficiently meet this requirement? If not, what have you successfully used to apply for the police certificate of clearance?

Thanks.

Thanks CALY......will let you know once i get the letter.....But based on the status update i got tonight, they have received my CASE at the new USCIS office [yet to find out if its at a local office or CSC]

Sounds like your letter is most likely going to say CSC (though some have speculated that it may actually be at your local office under the supervision of CSC). My status also changed from "to your local office" to "at a USCIS office". Wherever it ends up, the good news is that in the last few months they seem to be adjudicating these transfers in a pretty timely manner.. Fingers crossed!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 October 2013 Filers

Thanks you.

That's why I'm confused, I haven't had biometrics in two years, since I received the conditional GC. I really hope they didn't mess up to cause a delay on anything. :/

I wouldn't worry about it too much at this point. I've read of a similar situation as yours in another thread, unfortunately I haven't been able to find it again to see what happened in that case. :(

I would say when you go to your biometrics appointment on monday, take that transfer notice (and maybe even a print out of the USCIS article) with you and clarify the situation with someone in-person. It's probably just a part of a general letter they send to everyone, but better to clarify that there wasn't a mix up somehow.. You're going to be at USCIS anyway, so might as well ask someone about it, right?

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 October 2013 Filers

Hello,

I just joined VJ a yesterday because of a google search about a CRI89 notification I received in the mail about it being transferred to California Service Center after I filed at Vermont Service Center.

I applied for the ROC on 10/18/13

NOA received on 10/21/13

Biometrics appointment is scheduled on 11/25/13

The thing that's boggling my mind is that the transfer notice is dated 11/18/13

How is it possible that it says CRI89 Approved Removal of Conditions in the case type and I still haven't done my biometrics???

And does this up the chances of an interview or approval without an interview?

Welcome to VJ! It's indeed interesting that your transfer notice says that even though you haven't done your biometrics yet. This article on the USCIS website explains the wording on the transfer notices to mean that the biometrics portion has been successfully transferred.

Either they are just using this case type for all the transfer letters now, someone made a mistake, or you've done biometrics recently enough that they already have your "current" prints/photo in the system.

You could ask about it when you go for your biometrics appointment and see what they say (please report back if you get an answer!), but it has nothing to do with whether or not you get pulled for an interview later as according to the article I linked above, they haven't even looked at your petition at the time of the transfer.

Hello I am new here, I will join October filers and if somebody can update info for me would be appreciated.

I don't know about the implications of the G-56 (if anything), but I googled it and it looks to be USCIS' general call-in form.. whatever that means. I'd be happy to add you to our list, but I'll need the date you mailed your petition and the notice date printed on your I-797 :)

You will get a letter, which may state that it is transferred to CSC. But I still think it is really at the LO near to you working under the supervision of CSC, like all our cases that have been transferred out of VSC.

I just received the letter saying that it's been transferred to CSC. Just curious, is there any way to tell for sure if it's actually at a local office?

I am an october FILER, pls i need a candid evaluation of the evidence i submitted for my case if its sufficient and the chances of getting an RFE :

Joint Bank Account [2011-2013] : transaction page for end of month for 2011, mid month 2012 and current month 2013 at time of submission]

Joint Tax returns [2011 only, i didn't file 2012 due to financial reasons and plan on doing it this year :(]

Lease Agreement with both our names [2011-present]

Medical Insurance card with spouse as dependent

Statement of 401(K) stock options with a LETTER from company stating spouse as beneficiary for my Life Insurance, stock options , and AD&D insurance

2 Letter of Affidavits [ I know this carries minimum priority]

To be honest, if this is not sufficient enough then i don't know what is. And can i mention i was on H1-B before adjusting my status after marriage.

Looks like you included all the important stuff to me, but you just never know with these people.

Hi everyone,

Is it normal when your case is transferred to local USCIS?

I got the update that my case was transferred to local USCIS as well, but the notice letter I just received says it's been transferred to CSC.. You'll probably get a letter as well.

calyFemaleSingapore2013-11-21 15:34:00

Several other updates saying my case was transferred to a local USCIS office and received at a local USCIS office. I called the USCIS hotline and it says my file is currently at the local office in Saint Albans, VT.

From reading the other threads on the forum, I'm guessing it will eventually make it to CSC. I'll update as I get more information. :)

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 October 2013 Filers

Drove 2 hours to my biometrics appointment this morning. Was in and out in 20 mins. Everything went smoothly except for when I was gently chastised about not having my green card on me because I had decided to stash my purse in the car so I only had my photo-ID and appointment letter. If any of you who have yet to do biometrics are thinking about doing that, grab your green card as well! blush.png

Just wanted to update the October group that some of the August filers are just now beginning to see a few approvals. That's encouraging!

Also it seems people are receiving their approval letters from local offices rather than from CSC or VSC (unless that happens to be your local office).  Unsure if this indicates that final approval is "stamped" at the local offices or if the cases are just routed from CSC. There is a good post by Ivriesling (post #449) over on the August filers' thread that discusses the current approvals.

http://www.visajourn...-filers/page-30

It seems that based on the May, June and July threads that many people are approved 6-8 weeks after the biometric appointment (barring any long RFEs or unforeseen circumstances).  Of course there are many of those whose wait is has been much longer than 8 weeks, and even a few who seem to fly through the process and have green card in hand within 5-6 weeks post biometric appointment.  Just thought I'd update the group that things are moving, albeit slowly, but eventually we'll get there.

-cheers-

It's great to know that it could happen that quickly for some (if not all) of us! Thanks for the heads up. good.gif

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 October 2013 Filers

Hi everyone,

I got a problem, pls inform me is that correct?

I filed my file to CA service center on Oct. 17. 2013, and they received on Oct. 19, the NOA1 letter issued on Oct. 21,and the check cashed at  the same day.

up to today (Nov. 5), I haven't received any letter except the first one. no biometric appointment letter come.

and when I check my case status by using the receipt # showing on NOA1 which with the beginning lettters WAC***, it shows no case for this #. When I read NOA1, I found that we should track our status online at USCIS by using the receipt number shows on biometric letter .

Is that normal for about ten more days waitting after NOA1 and no further information ?

Is that normal for nothing appears by using receipt number on NOA1?

Thanks for your reply in advance .

The receipt number on the NOA1 will not work on the USCIS case status system. You'll have to wait for the biometrics letter to track the status of your case.

If I were you, I wouldn't worry about it just yet. Biometric appointments are scheduled by the local office so perhaps there is a delay there. If you still don't receive your biometrics letter after 30 days then I'd call the USCIS hotline and see if you can find out what's going on. :)

Thanks for updating the list, Yurika & Jimhappy.png

Just figured out how to use the table, CSC signed for I-751 10/1/13, went to Seattle USCIS today, in and out in an hour which was appreciated!

Glad your biometrics went smoothly. Just thought I'd point out that the "I-751 date" is the date you sent your petition, not the date it was received at USCIS.. Don't worry, we won't kick you out for sending it out before October! tongue_ss.gif

Oh so sorry! I'm a little confused now. So the date I'll put on "Date of I-751" is the date I filed my application or the date they received it? And the NOA1 is the letter of extension or the ASC letter?

No worries.. All the different dates can be confusing! The "Date of I-751" is the date you sent your petition. The NOA1 date is the date on your extension letter. :)

It was pretty quick, I got the NOA1 letter in the mail last Friday and the ASC appointment letter yesterday. Yes I hope you get yours this week too! I see that we have the same filing date smile.png

The NOA1 date is the date on the letter, not the date you received the letter. Please update. Thank you! wink.png

Mailed our packet today 10/22:)
We only included a copy of the gc, our tax returns, and pictures... After seeing what you all included as evidence, I am already having a good feeling for getting a RFE;) hahaha
We will see!

Did you send it to CSC? Ha! You just really never know with these people.. but perhaps you can consider setting aside a pile of paperwork for RFE response in case you need it. tongue.png

Check cleared the bank today! Maybe I'll get my NOA1 early next week?

Sounds about right. good.gif

Hi everybody!

I will send my ROC package in a few days, I am waiting for my tax transcripts.

Here is the evidence that I have:

-joint lease agreement

-copy of my GC

-copies of our DL

-Statements showing joint checking acct from 2012- present

-IRS tax transcripts for 2011,2012

-Car insurance on both names

-water bills on my husband's name, power bills on my name, trash bills on both names

-Last will and Testament

-triple a membership cards

-Rx savings cards

-letter from my school listing my husband as an emergency contact

-2 affidavits

-20 photos

Is it enough?

Thank you!

I agree with Navyk. Seems like you have a good variety of items, just make sure they cover the entire period since you got your GC. good.gif

Of course, there are no guarantees when USCIS is involved, but people have been approved with much less.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 October 2013 Filers

Hi Guys,

So I have a bit of a dilemma. My initial 2 year green card will expire on November 20th, and I only sent my i-751 off in the post 9 days ago. Not a big deal as I'm still well within my 90 day window, but I am planning on taking my family to England for Christmas. My question to you guys is what happens if I don't have my green card back in time?  My old one will have expired so I'm presuming they wouldn't let me back into the country should I leave?

Many thanks in advance,

Nathan

That's no dilemma at all! You will be allowed back into the country as long as you have the original I-797 Receipt Notice (or NOA1 as we call it on VJ) as well as your expired green card. Those two items combined will serve as a one-year extension of your green card.

Enjoy Christmas back home!

PS: Why not add your filing dates to the list so we can all compare notes? wink.png

They cashed the check! Can?t say I have ever before been so pleased parting with my money, but this time I am. Lol. It?s some progress at least.

tongue_ss.gif  I know how you feel. I literally whooped for joy when I saw that they had taken the money out of our account. Hubs was all like "huh.png why are you so happy that we're now $590 poorer?"

calyFemaleSingapore2013-10-11 18:30:00

They wrote on some pages numbers/codes and circled and underlined words, such as: my name and my wife's name, as well as our address, and the name of company or bank which issued the document. They also included a letter that mentioned that I needed to send the form within the 90 day period window.

I see. Wonder what the codes mean.

I'm almost done putting together the packet and hopefully I will send it off sometime next week.

I'm going to send a copy of my passport too to show that her new passport has the same last name as mine and also to show that I visited Tokyo 16 times in the last 6 years. 16 trips in 6 years has got to show some sort of dedication right? laughing.gif

I too was wondering where all the October filers are.  Mailed package on Monday it was signed for today. So glad it reached.

Glad to hear it got there safely. kicking.gif

It is just 10th. I am sure applicants are getting their evidences together to start filing.

Perhaps so! We could use the company. Then again, if there were only the 3 of us filing this month, I'd be OK with that too! laughing.gif

(Just kidding...)

Just received my packet back. They actually did some writing to 10 pages. I will send it back next week.

I keep forgetting to ask... What did they write on your returned packet?
