I need two couple's VJ names..

Steve & Robin (K1)
Irene & Michael (K3)

otherwise I can't check up on your status myself =(

The spreadsheet wants your name!! It craves it!

I think I'm probably Steve and Robin, unless there's another Robin here married to another Steve! We're not K1, though, we're DCF. I probably put K1 at the beginning, then thought we were K3 for a while, then didn't realize that CR-1 was different from DCF....it's been a long, strange trip wink.gif

We emailed Montreal last Thursday and heard from them Friday with the response of "2-3 months." That didn't sit well with me because we went on the waiting list June 14th and I'd seen people who I was sure went on the waiting list after us getting dates in late October. So I had our lawyer call them directly and sure enough...OCTOBER 5!!!

So Liz, I would email them again next week and check, because if you don't have a date now, you should have one in no time. I'm almost sure that we had a date last week and the person answering the email just didn't know what was going on. October 5 is way less than 2 months from now (no complaints here, of course!).

Off to update my timeline smile.gif

THanks so much! So glad you guys got a date too!

I'm gonna email them again next week.. I just really had to laugh at the last line of their response "you must wait".. blush.gif

You have to keep bugging them or we will bug you rose.gif heart.gif rose.gif

Ron and Sharon, so sorry to hear about Sharons dad but glad you will be able to be with her...My mother in law just passed away about an hour ago (reason why Im still awake at 330 am)..it has been a horrible 3 days for us, especially my husband as he is so close to his mother... I hope that your father in law passes peacefully..

Wiz and Melyssa congrats on the Interviews!! is Montreal really clearing up their backlog?!...LOL.. just heard from Neen in Ottawa who sent her packet 3 in JUNE that she received an email today with an October 31st interview date!!!!!

Everyone who sent theirs in May better call or email!! Good Luck!!

Kimmbo, I am so sorry that you lost your mother-in-law, I know that nothing can be said to ease your pain and that of your husbands who is probably devastated right now. Don't let this come between you, support each other and let it bring you closer together, this is one of the hardest time you and your husband will go through. Thank you for your thoughts on Sharon's Father, I hope so too.

Neen, don't remember seeing you here but in case I just keep missing you Congratulations on getting your interview date. Another Ottawan goes to Montreal. good.gif

Melyssa, you have just made my day! I'm so glad you got mid and not late October, I was hoping for mid to last September but I am sure that you and Jared are not complaining about the date you did get. I do hope Jared can make it to Montreal with you, this is a special occasion and you two should be together to celebrate the good news.

Jen you'll have to get Sean there too, he can't let you celebrate by yourself that's just not fair.

All the best to all of you you're down to weeks now and will soon be counting days.

I an sorry to have posted this here, it is also posted in OT where it is better suited, I could not edit or delete my previous post.
Thanks Lona, getting the waiver is the best thing that could have happened, had they refused in my present state of mind I would have cancelled the entire process out of frustration. Sharon's dad is not going to get better, he has been given hours only and has 24 hour care givers to make his remaining time as easy as possible. My trip is to support Sharon and say goodbye to her father if I can make it there in time, both he and Sharon's mother have been asking that I be there.

I just got back from the airport here to see if I can get a visa waiver from CBP to go to Kansas on a very urgent matter, the bad news is I had to wait 30 minutes for a reply with tears in my eyes because I was sure of a denial from there also since that is the way life has been going for us over the past few months. The good news is that after a discussion with the CBP port manager the waiver will be granted and at no cost they are waving the fee, and I am now crying for a totally different reason, this is almost as good as getting the visa in Montreal would have been. now I will be able to support Sharon as she should have been all along. All that I need for the waiver is my passport, return ticket and a letter from her father's doctor explaining the state her father is in and his time remaining with us. My boss gave me twoo weeks off to be there and I hope to leave tomorrow ASAP.

If everyone starts writing to Montreal they will have to get the phones back up and working, replying to e-mails is not the best time management practice they have. So everyone send Montreal a question per day over the next few days and see what the results will be. I have nine questions for them right now and knowng that they answer only one (My experience) question per e-mail I have 9 to send off, beleive me they will soon tire of hitting the reply button. Give their address to family and friends and have them ask questions or wish them a g'day.

Uh-oh... Ron, our strategic thinker!!! This is good my friend - at some point those people need to actually earn their salary. So everyone: email, then email again, then email once more.
L.

Well my dear, I have a personal reason for wanting to make their lives as difficult as possible, and they deserve it anyway for all the stress they are dishing out to everyone that wants to be with their spouse or future spouse.

Ron, I see your point - maybe people who are later than May should wait, but when two people a few weeks after me got their dates and they won't answer the phones anymore (I am at the end of April/beginning of May - they are middle & late May) - I want to know my date as soon as possible if it's been scheduled. Hopefully they will reply with a date tomorrow!!!

Ugh! Now I have to be patient for the next almost 24 hours - and longer if they don't reply to my email...

(Patience is a good thing, but it's going to make the time drag by, lol - I'll have to just not think about it or something)

Melyssa, as on buzzard said to the other "Patience my as$, I'm going to kill something" Sweetheart keep the pressure on them. When I got my date I jumped ahead of two other who now have their dates, so I wouldn't worry too much about the others that have jump ahead of you. Your turn is coming and who knows the others have October dates an you just may get a September one, all I will say now is be prepared for a short notice.Good luck praying for you and a speedy reply to your inquiries.

Hi Melyssa, The offer is to anyone in the Ottawa area that needs free long distance, I should have offered it to Sharon also when she was at the YM/YWCA but it never came to mind then.

Am I calling the wrong number?

At this time I'm on hold with them with music, the two previous calls were dead air, been waiting for 24 minutes now. They are doing a very good job at ignoring us today. It is Monday so they are probably still hung-over from the weekend.

Melyssa, I am sorry for being such a pain to you but when it come to inquiring about your interview date I would call, as I said before my e-mails to them were only regarding information not associated with the interview date. When I wanted to now if I was scheduled I would always get on the phone and ask.
Does it really matter if they get nasty, it only lasts as long as they are on the other end and beleive me they don't want to talk with anyone very long. It may seem like you are talking a long time but in reality the conversation rarely goes beyond one minute if that long and I am sure that you can handle that much time with someone who just may have the answer you are looking for.
Read the messages being posted, to me it seems like more and more people are getting telephone confirmations and more are getting their letters closer to the interview date than the desired 4 weeks.
I am sorry to push you but I rather you get the date than have to reschedule because the letter was late or never arrived.

I'm the one who had the two day notice because of a phone call I made, my appointment was 8 days ago and I still have not received the letter everyon is so happy to get. Nope I haven't called again yet... I think I'll wait a little bit longer before calling again. I might email again in a couple of weeks... I doubt I will be scheduled until September since they schedule by month. I think I'll try the first week of September if not the last week of August.

Melyssa, try calling closer to the end of the week. Remember, I called and was given the August/Sept, then the 5-7 months the next week, and when I called again last week it was I got an interview!!!

Has anyone had an 8:15 appt? and did they get in and out fast?

Tinker, Congratulation on the interview date,
Melyssa you keep calling them, if they say they will mail you your date remind them that my appointment was on the 9th and I still haven't received my letterfrom them.
I had a 9 a.m. appointment but was there at 7:30, thanks to vj I was first at the cashiers window and got ticket C1 did have to wait about a half hour though because they were doing all the As first. I think the C1 was because I had pre-paid at the bank which I should not have done. I was out at 10:00 for now obvious reasons.

Tinker you deserve much more since without your nudge I would still be waiting for the letter and not have called.
The Sharon you are thinking of is Alan's Sharon, they had their interview just a few days ago, My Sharon is in Wichita at her father's hospital bedside, he is doing better but not yet out of the woods as the doctor said, The past 6 weeks have been heII since he has gone bad to worse to living one minute at a time. Thank you everyone, the good thing is I have been ready for months now, as that is left to do go to the bank and pay the fee then get to Montreal.
I hope to see many more happy people here when I get back.

are you still working?
do you have to quit your job?
what about giving your apt and work notice?

what about packing!

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN MONTREAL GIVES YOU TWO DAYS NOTICE!!!
STUPIDOS

I'm still working but barely, when I told my boss that I was applying for a visa in September they moved me to a very quiet job in December so I could work on what was necessary to get the visa with little or no interruptions. All I have to do here is give them 1 weeks notice, not really necessary as this job was created for me alone and I won't be replaced. The weeks notice is so they can plan a going away and congratulations party.
I don't have to quite the job until I am ready to leave but will do so at least a month in advance since I will be retiring and work the max permissible in the states.
I have to give 70 days notice to the landlord but that is no problem since I don't have to live there during that time just pay the rent, my daughter will be holding the key and will only turn them in when they are due.
AS for packing that is easy since everything that needs to be there is there, all that is left to bring are 2 suitcases, I do have 3 small boxes that will be sent by UPS.
I have been very lucky, I have had my docs together and copied for over three month now, I have been ready forever. As for Montreal, they have tried to short change me but it didn't work, shame on them.

The funny thing is that it was on Aug 2, I got the medical documents. Is there a coincidence here or not. Do you mean you did your medical on Aug 2nd?

I don't think that'd be related then..
And I don't think the Medical office would know when your date was...

(or did you mean something else)

I did the medical on June 7th and due to the Dr's prodding into the very distant past everything was ready and given to me on Aug. 2nd, the same week Montreal mailed the letter a.k. packet 4. I'm originally a September filer and I received my packet 3 in January and was placed on the list around jan or feb but the bitsh of Montreal took me off and placed me back on on April 16th.

CanadaMTL Timeline to Interview

Here is something that may perk everyone up some, I am a April 16th P3 and I just got off the phone with Montreal and I am scheduled for August 9th at 9 a.m., My god I just realized that that is in two days, what the hell, no time to breath or even think. I hope to see more surprised like this for everyone else. Thank you Tinker for the push to call.
Gotta go and call Sharon

What??? Two days? How did they expect you to make that interview if you hadn't called? Had they already sent the letter?

Regardless - congrats!!

According to the person I talked with the letter was mailed last week, I have yet to receive it though.

even if the letter WAS mailed last week, they expect you to get your act together in 3-5 days ???@#$$%%^

what happened to giving a month's notice!

(watch, you're going to get the letter in the mail the DAY OF the interview)

gee, thx for the tip off montreal..

The funny thing is that it was on Aug 2, I got the medical documents. Is there a coincidence here or not. They could have told me the interview was tomorrow and I would still have made it there on time. I was hoping for the letter this month and the interview next month, that way I could have planned things but now there is no planning just showing up.
