K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures129F sent to Vermont?
I'm guessing that since my I-130 is in Vermont ... my K3 will get transferred there as well ... but I haven't been informed of that yet! I'm mad too :-)

Just wondering if any K3 filers out there have any good news to report? Things seem to be slower for people who are already married ... doesn't seem fair!

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresUnable to provide US Federal Income Tax Information

Hi Neen,

I actually just went through this. I only received my SSN a month ago - my 3 years worth of tax returns are now in the mail to the IRS - I filed 2006, 2005 and 2004 (although I noted the USCIS does only require 1 year - I decided to file 3 anyway).

There is a lot of info on the IRS site, I called them just to confirm and ended up speaking with an agent for 74 minutes - 5 minutes of this was actually useful information - but he was just being thorough I guess.

I filed a 1040 an F2555EZ and a F8891 (the 8891 is only necessary if he has an RRSP).

Anyway, it is pretty straight forward, assuming his income is lower than $82,400 U.S. for 2006 (as an example as 2005 and 2004 have their own limits).

Other than that the only thing to note is that all amounts must be in U.S. dollars and they give a link on their website to the federal reserve averages for each year. The agent also told me to call them in about 6 weeks to ask for a transcript, he said it is faster if I call to request one, rather than using the online form.

Send me a message if I can be of any help.

You're the best ... all of you have been great! Thanks soooooo much for the help!

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresUnable to provide US Federal Income Tax Information

was he a USC by birth......if so, then he still needs to file....at the very least to the degree he meets the requirements for the I-864. USC's are required to report world income based on citizenship unlike Canada where it is a requirement based on residency.

Yes .. he is USC by birth. He also has Canadian citizenship. Thanks for the info - there is no way that he knew that.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresUnable to provide US Federal Income Tax Information
I think my timeline clearly shows an I-129F.

I'm leaving my options open at this point. I may pursue the CR1, I may not.

Thanks CutienPurg - odd he is required to file US taxes having never earned income in the United States. He only received a SSN a year ago!

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresUnable to provide US Federal Income Tax Information
I have started assembling documents which need to be submitted with the I-864 Affidavit of Support form.

My husband relocated to Texas last month from Canada and is working. His salary more than covers the guidelines. Problem - Because my husband (who is a USC) has never worked in the United Sates, we are unable to provide any US federal individual income tax information.

He has lived in Canada since he was 10 years old. Any suggestions?

Are there any other K-3 February filers? I sent out the I-130 for my husband on 02/05/07, USCIS received it on 02/08/07 and I'm still waiting for the first NOA. I am not the patient kind so I hope that by reading your timelines I can feel better about all this waiting. <_<

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDilemma regarding approval of I-130 petition

I have a bit of a dilemma regarding an approval for my I-130 petition.

My I-130 petition was approved on May 15th. Problem – My son’s has not been approved yet (He’s 15 years old). I would prefer to go down the K3 path, as he would be included on my K3.

I don’t have any issues with continuing on with the IR1/CR1, however, until my son’s petition has been approved … an approval for just myself may as well be no approval at all. Here’s hoping the K3 will get approved soon. In the meantime, does anybody have any suggestions?

I know this has nothing to do with what u are questioning, but Are You originally from Canada ?

yes

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMarried in the USA 6 years ago
I'm about ready to snap!

I am the CDN, husband is the USC. We were married 6 years ago in the USA. We lived in Canada then ... but he has since accepted a position in Texas and has moved there (March 2007).

My son and I have filed I-130s and an I-129F. I would prefer to go the K3 route.

Vice Consul at the US Embassy in Ottawa (Canada) did some research on my case because my I-130 was approved but not my son's.

Vermont wants my son's long form birth certificate, they said they sent an RFE on May 15th, but we haven't received it. I can't call the 1-800 for Vermont in Canada.

Question - We are going to Texas in July to visit my husband. Is there anything I can do as far as adjusting status in the USA, because we were married in the USA instead of waiting ... and waiting ... and waiting ... for a K3?

Probably a silly question ... but I'm becoming VERY impatient with the process.

We were in the market.......Rideau Center.......Westin etc the day the Sens won their conference............how FUN!!! It was awesome to see everyone so happy.... people hugging strangers......everyone was family that day. Dont get me wrong the Sens are certainly not my team but it was really neat to see them make it :) and I am cheering for them in the finals.

Hmmmm .... I'm torn!

Sens really need to win tomorrow ... or OH OH ....

:crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:

GODD*MNIT, THIS ISN'T F*CKING RIGHT. I finally log back in here to look around, and I find out that because of the new fee increase, it will now cost me $1,010 to get him his green card instead of the $505 it was going to cost (adjustment of status plus EAD, he wasn't going to file for AP). I have NO idea how I am going to be able to afford this. HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE HERE BY NOW. Long before now!!! With his "waiting list date" being March 2nd, there's no way he'll make it here by the end of July.

This isn't f*cking right AT ALL.

I'll reply to posts on here once I'm sober. I'm drunk as all hell right now. What a fine time for me to find out about this.

You've definitely had some bad luck, feel so bad for you ... :-(

Hello,

I am starting to get bogged down with copy after copy of every document I am bringing to the interview.

Can someone please remind me if I am required to photocopy every page of my passport for the K1-Visa interview?

Thanks!

I had my interview yesterday. She asked me if I had made copies of our passports, I said "No, didn't that I had to ... " she said "ok, no problem"

are any of you planing to meet up with each other? most importantly are you going to go dressed up for Halloween?!...LOL

Best of luck to all of you, and safe travels!!

Thanks Kimmbo!

Just for all - - - as I told kimmbo, my inerterview was NOT 5 minutes. Actually, people kinda looked at me oddly when I walked out of the interview room so quickly. A piece of cake.

I don't think that any of the 3 couples here met up, however I think I know who kevin and lee and serge and vanessa were. I think that we were all the first three in line.

I had my 15 year old son with me ... Kevin and Lee - Were you having the computer problems? Serge and vanessa - were you the cute lil couple wgo each had leather jackets on?

For everyone about to go to MtL - good luck ... you'll be fine. Driving in Montreal is way more stress than then interview ;-)

National Visa Center (Dept of State)NVC Question
Anywho,
I called, got someone after about 10 mins, which I was expecting more wait time haha, but I got my MTL # and they sent out my package yesterday, so should receive it soon hopefully so I can start. Thank you for posting the MTL link, I didn't know there was a fee for the interview I thought we were all done with $$$, except for the Permanent Resident thing at the end..

I wasn't trying to be rude, but the last time I had posted a question, I had someone who was rude to me, I'm here for help, like most people. You might have done this years ago and tired of repeating, but were just as much noobies as you were... patience.

Thanks everyone for the help!! :)

National Visa Center (Dept of State)NVC Question

Maybe it was not your question but you are freaking out for no reason - you are also not understanding the process of what goes on and reading the guides - flow charts and instructions will help you to understand what you need to do and what is going on.

This is not the way you should be calling them that is only for spousal visas - K-1 information never shows up on the AVR voice system. You have to speak to an operator if you are wanting to call to get your case number.

My point exactly, I don't understand, that's why i'm posting here...

National Visa Center (Dept of State)NVC Question
Hi Everyone,

So we received our NOA2 on January 24th and have yet to receive ANY information from NVC. It's has been over a month now and we are getting really nervous about what is going on. Should we be worried?
What should I do? Should I be calling them and asking what's going on? If so, does anyone have the number?

I think we have been patient as to just sitting here and waiting, but now i'm about to rip my hair out.. :)

Any information would help.

PS. I'm in Canada, if that helps :)

Also- if anyone has to go to MTL for their interview and needs to spend more than a day or so - Hotel Centre-ville has a special- get 25% off of four nights or more-- there are also some other discounts. This helps us out immensely since they will be there several days for their medical as well. I don't know anything about the hotel- but reviews I've read here weren't bad-- just not a high end hotel. Check under promotions for the different discounts being offered. www.hotelcentreville.com

Try Priceline.com for better deals. I have always found the best deals for hotels at a much cheaper price using the bidding mechanism offered at priceline. Betterbidding.com is a website that will let you know what bids are winning.

All the best for your interview.
