You are NOT welcome to the United States of America, MUHAHAHAHAA"

bjs stressados

Olá a todos!!

Estou furiosa:

(apesar deste pequenino defeito AMO o meu americano)

National Visa Center (Dept of State)DS-230 SSNo
Hi!

I've got a problem: I already applied for a Social Security number (my husband and I made our taxes together last year, so I had to apply for one). The problem is: I don't have my number yet. So, "have you ever applied for a SSN" - answer is YES, but what about the "Give the number"? When I complete the form in the computer, when you say yes you can't write N/A, only numbers... what can I do?

What about saying no, and then write with a black pen N/A on the folowing question, and send along a letter to explain the situation?

Thanks, and GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Do we have to certified the docs by the ministry of foreign affear or other
Hi! I just sent my originals + translation, and no RFE. No need to certify anything, you're fine.

My advice: read the guides, posts from people who already did it and the most common RFEs. It's really easy to get one and delay your process. I made a complete research on this forum and I had no RFE. Take a look at this:

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresStupid question (again...)
Hi, all!

When we sent I-130 and I-129f (April 2008 -AGHHHH!) we didn't know that we had to send special size passport pictures headbonk.gif . We recieved RFE for I-129, but they asked for TWO pictures of each of us... is that possible that they are sending a "2 in 1" RFE for pictures? Or should we expect another RFE for I-130 pictures soon?

Thanks! (put some more screaming here)

Good luck!!

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresQuitting K3 for I-130/CR1???
Hi!

An existential question:

We are waiting for both I-130 (submitted last April) + K3 (subm. last June) NOA 2. Only yesterday I realized the marvelous advantages and ben€fit$ of quitting K3 and keeping the I-130/CR1 process. My question is: what’s the deadline to do it? (yes, we called USCIS, but no one knew the answer, as usual..). Is it too late to quit K3 after NOA 2? Or after the process arrives at the embassy? or... ???

Thanks for your help, and good luck!!!

Hi all!

I had both my NOAs (YUPIIIIII!), and now I want my CR1 (didn't know it was better when I sent I-129f...).

What to do now? Is I-824 the answer? Anybody in the same situation?

GOOD luck star_smile.gif , and thank you so much for your help.

Hi!! Welcome to VJ!!!!

Querida, unfortunately... according to my looong experience you'll have 3 kinds of answers, the "we don't know", the "we can't tell you" or false/contraditory information. We just have to try to relax and wait for them to contact us if there's something wrong or you need to send more stuff.

Good luck!

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureshas anyone tried this?
Hi! Yes, you can do that (I think it's a great idea to avoid AOS, it's such a pain, and really expensive!), BUT there's a BETTER possibility (I'm going to try it!). You can do both I-130 and K3, and when you have the K3 interview date in the Embassy, the Emb. can switch you K3 interview for the CR1 interview, BUT you have to ask if your Embassy is "nice" and agrees with that. I found here some cases of success with this strategy. You can see here (first answer!) one of them.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCR1
Hi!

I had the same dilema, but after I got some information I realized that CR1 is much better and CHEAPER, because it's a greencard. K3 is just a temporary visa. The CR1 process takes more time, but not much (you can see the most recent VJ statistics), but It's worth it, because you're done, and you "only" pay $470. With the K3 you have to adjust your status in the US: LOTS of paperwork, $1000 fee, and during the process your wife can't work, or have her SS#, nor driver's license. With the CR1 you can start working right away, have SS#, driver's license. With both of them you can travel as soon as you want. You can visit her often, so my advice is: go with the CR1.

I hope I helped you. GOOD LUCK!!!!

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresFew questions, help!!
"although i am a uk citizen our wedding was in another country not UK or US actually in the middle east, i understand my interview for the k3 will have to be done in the country where the marriage took place"

Hi! Yes, K3 interview is in the country where you got married, but the CR1 interview is in the country where you live. We got married in Portugal, we were living in France, so my K3 was sent to Lisbon and my CR1 to Paris wacko.gif . Don't worry, you can change the embassies with NVC once you're approved (if you decide to go with K3). We had to wait one ENTIRE month to change our embassy, and to get another case number mad.gif .

Mi advice: if your K3 is approved and sent to onother country, don't think twice: go with CR1, because you would waste a LOT of time just to change the embassy for the K3. In that case CR1 would be quicker and cheaper.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresK3 or I130? Which is better/faster choice?
I would say CR1!!! You have lots of posts about this on VJ, just look for them and read the guides. We were thinking about going with the K3, but after we knew all the CR1 advantages we changed (cheaper, you don't need Adjustment Of Status, can work in the US right away, etc).

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!! star_smile.gif
