K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresVisa mailings from Bogota
QUOTE (jimmynuetron @ Aug 14 2008, 07:31 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
This question is geared towards any that had an interview in Bogota. We would like for my wife to fly direct from Bogota to Florida. As it is right now with the new mailing the visa thing and no longer able to pick it up, do you think we would be able to have it mailed locally in Bogota so she doesnt have to go all the way back to Medellin?

Not very many replies from the Colombian people lately. Maybe my questions are out of the norm. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

jimmynuetron,

Sorry not to answer your question... I really do not know... I wanted to ask you something to see if you know...

Do I have to translate the beneficiary birth certificateand the police record?

thank you and sorry again for not being able to answer your question...

Africa: Sub-SaharanOrlando or Houston
Hello, I have lived here in Florida for the past 15 years, I lived in Kissimmee for 12 which is far better than Orlando which is where I have lived for the past 3 years.

The schools in Orlando are awful, my kids are 15 16 17 , they were all A-B honor roll until moving here, its depressing

really there is nothing to do, we call it BOrlando, we've been to the museum that is here, its so touristy and expensive, when my husband gets here we will relocate

I stay here because I have worked for the same company for the past ten years,

there are lots of gangs, its been progressively getting worse, Orlando in some sort of poll, was named the Angriest City In America, pretty damn sad

I can imagine, there is nothing but heat, rain, humidity, work work and more work, if you want to own a house, you really need to have two jobs

and for kids there is nothing to do, Disney but really how often can you do that, its expensive, the city is clean, but downtown there's lots of homeless, its a nightmare, and get this you are not allowed to feed the homeless, imagine that. you have to have a business license to give them food

I've been to Houston my sister has lived there for the past twenty odd years, she loves it, it seems ok, but for me I am from New Jersey, I would rather be back in my home town of Union City or Hoboken, which are both so near Manhattan but less expensive

Good Luck to you

I aboslutely agree with you... All I have been doing is calling the USCIS directors office (Michael Ayetes) every single day and sometimes two or three times in a day to complain to all of them... My I-130 was there for 16 months without a single touch ... only after I started complaining there were touchs everyday, this week requested further evidence, we sent, and again called to coplaim and make sure they had received... Hey monday morning I am on the phone again complaining... since they do not care to read our posts, at least I feel a bit better of telling them myslef how unhuman and irresponsible their snale pace have been to our families... ( I actually got to know all the officers there by first name after been on the phone with them for over a month...)
It is not joke, it is sad, agonizing, disrespectful and simply ridiculous what they do, how they do, and when they decide to consider adjuticating our families life... This is not just a visa... this is our family well being, physically, mentally, emotionally and financially... as for all of us who are separated from our spouses goes through distress in all these areas...
I agree with all you have said 10000%...
Best of luck to all of us.

I've spoken to Jessie, Beth, Barbara, and one man who i didn't catch his name, he was as useless as tits on a bull
my senator takes the cake too, I wrote to him because he sent me an email, and a form to fill out so they can check my case, you know what he said, your case should be looked at in the next 4-5 months, I filed in September, argh, he was oh so sweet to send me something so very helpful you'd never believe it, you can't imagine how I needed him to do this for me
he sent me the priority dates from the uscis web site
arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, i am so ANGRY
but you know what they are all laughing at us, they don't care what we have gone through, I have three teenagers, these poor kids have never had a dad, I have been single since my kids were 1, 4 months old and I was two months pregnant, they have never had a dad, until now, well the past four years
but i have two boys and one girl do you know how hard it is to raise boys without a dad, and its not fair to them, they have waited just like me, but they are kids this is killing them, my oldest one keeps saying dad will never get here, we've waited so long. its been four years that we wait, because they messed with my case the last time and it expired
they suck
they really suck a lot
immigration sucks

good luck to everyone , all of us that have suffered I feel for you

i stand in the same page as you. thats exactly what i was thinking, its ironic for them to approve k1's faster than the spousal visas. does that mean the girlfriend can get to the usa faster than the wife? i dont understand that. i believe that the husband has the right to bring his wife wherever he goes. i dont understand why the uscis is approving fiance visas faster than spousals. its plain stupidity

Sasha no its not Ironic its more than pathetic that they are approved before us, we did all the steps we needed to take to get married, its not fair its so easy for them

Once inside, there are 2 windows. The lady will ask you for Passport, Medical Questionnaire, and a photo. (make sure its got a white background... a lady who was waiting with me got told to retake the photos cos she had a dark background.) and if you have vaccination records, you give them in aswell. (i didn't)

I'm curious - what would suffice for medical records? We have a letter from Andrew's Dr saying what vaccinations they know of him already having and a booklet of his shots as a kid.

Did they mention that one for chicken pox thats on the embassy website thats not available in the UK?

United KingdomFiance medical
Anyone go with their fiance to the medical? Even if just sitting in the waiting room?
SSAHFemaleEngland2008-01-29 03:34:00
United KingdomLondon Medical Jan 28th
I went with my fiancé to Bentinck Street for the medical and we parked on a meter just around the corner on Queen Anne Street .

I was quite nervous but the medical isn’t really something to worry about - its worrying what its going to be like which is the worst bit.
First you fill out a form about your medical history. Then you get called to have a little chat with a nurse to see what vaccinations you have had. I needed the MMR and tetanus. I had them done after with the nurse at my GP to save paying £30 each. She wrote out what was needed and told us to have the nurse write down the batch number of the injections and then we were to fax it to them. They would keep the case open and not forward to the embassy until they received the information that the shots were done.

Then you get put in another waiting room with a weird picture on the wall of an egg being cut with a knife.
The x-ray lady called me in and took an x-ray of my chest which was very quick. Then it was back to the main waiting room to wait to see the doctor.
The doctor was a very nice Irish man who checked my height weight, blood pressure. He checked my breathing with the stethoscope. He pressed down on my groin to see if I had a hernia (I think) then he said he would have a peep down there which was as quick as a second. Right at the end he did a blood test. He also talked about my medical history and wanted some more info from my GP about when I had depression 10 years ago. That was it, nothing to worry about.

All:

About 2 weeks ago I penned a short-lived thread stating that the VSC had been busy working on H1-Bs since April. I also postulated that August would be the turn-around month for us who have been waiting in suspended animation.

Well, all I can say to that is....my hypothesis is true!!!!

Just this morning I got the CRIS email that stated on August 3, my I-130 and I-129 were both APPROVED!!!!!!

My I-130 NOA 1 was Feb 19 and the I-129F was March 3. Just goes to show there is light at the end of the tunnel for us.

I think starting this week a flood of approvals are coming our way, I hope everyone is ready.

Here is to all of you being reunited with you families very, very soon.

Until then, keep hope alive and fight the power!

congratulations. I hope the rest of us will not be far behind

Another question based on the same. Do I have to use a printer or can I just fill everything in by pen. All I get are plus symbles on all the dates. I can't get rid of them. Maybe I am trying too hard and over thinking this but all I want is a correctly filled out, neat form where they can read everything. Including the dates, which all they'll be able to read is a plus sign right now. I've almost wasted a whole ink cartridge over the past several hours trying to fill out one simple form on my PC and then seeing how it prints out. As of now I have nothing and my wife leaves thursday morning. AAARRRGGGHHH
Thanks again.

I was very frustrated with the same problem. yes you can fill out and areas that have plus signs with black ink. I did this and my application was accepted

As history has shown many times b/f, there is power in numbers. Those of us who are waiting and getting no news from the VSC can cry every day and do nothing or take positive action. Wouldn't it be good to draft a letter with blanks for name, address, receipt number, etc, and several of us who are being impacted now can print, sign, and mail it to at least 4 Congressmen who sit on that committee. Of course, each of us will have to send it to our own reps, too. When the committee of 4 or 5 sends an inquiry, they will repsond, I belive. If anyone else is interested, I can draft the letter by this Fri. Just let me know what you think.--Amor1

How do you keep your relationship strong despite of the distance between you and your partner based on your own experiences?

Being separated by distance with your love ones is a huge challenge that we are facing in our lives now. Yes we are happy co'z we are in love and we are loved, but there are times that we feel sorry co'z we can't hold the man/woman that we love. There are so many articles/advices that we can read on the internet, books, magazines or hear from our friends or counselors...but I wanna hear from the VJ'ers or those who are on same situation as me...what are the things that you do to keep your relationship/marriage stronger everyday. It could be a small or silly things but you know for sure helps you and your partner to fight the stress of being apart. star_smile.gif

Asia: East and PacificWhat Number Do I call?
Hi everyone. Does anyone know the Number to call for the Embassy of the United States in Manila Visa Unit? I am wanting to call and find out the status of my case. They have had my petition 7 weeks now and i or my fiancee have not heard anything yet so i would like to call and get some info. The last letter i received was from the NVC on 5/4/2006 stating that they received my approved I-129F and that it was being forwarded to Manila where interview will take place. If any one can tell me anything I would grealy appreciate it. Louie

Can anyone tell me about the seminar my fiancee has to attend before leaving to come to USA? Do i need to attend also? They say no they just need a copy of my passport. Do i myself need any documents? Any one who has already attended this seminar in manila recently could give me any info I would greatly appreciate it. She has her visa now i'm just going back and we are coming back together to start our lives together and i can't wait :-)
Thank you everyone for all the help and support, hand in there it will surely come.
