my understanding is the january 13th date just means that's the oldest NOA2 they are working on.probably someone with a RFE that is still being processed. they are also working on others with newer dates.

firstly, I REALLY wouldn't pay too much attention to the official stats; they may say they're working on January, but we KNOW they're looking at later petitions than that, because people who filed later have been approved, and come in here and told us! I think those stats are to cover their butts a bit, and give themselves longer than even THEY think they need, to come in 'under time'

secondly, remember that if even these delays, which have been a couple of weeks at most, are affecting our timelines, then a change in the other direction will as well... by which I mean: the estimated adjudication dates reflect CURRENT movements, but a couple of good weeks (or, heaven forfend, a few more bad ones) could change those estimates considerably... I'm not saying they're not useful; they are; incredibly... I just mean they're reasonably sensitive, and could change quite radically before the end of the process

thirdly, I think it's too difficult to predict when the non-USC will be arriving, simply because even though people who filed at similar times are likely to have similar NOA1 - NOA2 timeframes, so much will then depend on the consulate we're all going through... for example, I've heard Montreal is one of the worst right now, something like a six month wait, I think? but I'm going through London, which looks to be around three months... so even if we all got NOA2 within the same week, our interviews could be scheduled months apart...

all the above is just my opinion, of course, but I HAVE tried to base it on something

What you write makes good sense, it's basically a "whack-a-mole" nobody knows for sure, that's okay - I am betting on February, and that's okay, gives me a little more time to prepare.

So I am curious, what is the general consensus on if the noa1-noa2 time lines; I notice that mine went up one day; it's only 1 day but still, I guess I am worried about the consolidation. When I put everything I have read here together, I think it's going to be February before my Inna is here in Florida with me (wow, just saying that makes me smile, I am so anxious). That's not the end of the world and I am okay with that, but still, I am concerned.

I thought I read somewhere on here, someone said realistically there should be no delays because of the consolidation, yet when I go to the USCIS site, the CSC is currently working on JANUARY 13th noa2's, that a long way from July 30th, you know?

Hey - can someone tell me why under "My Timeline" it lists "Armenia as my consulate? Did I do that somehow when editing my profile? If so, how do I change that?

I think that's the default, if you don't fill anything in... go to the Immigration Timelines section (link on the blue bar at the top of the page), and then click on 'Edit/Add my entry' (first choice under 'Timeline Functions', on the far left), and change it

Hello to all....

Ok, I have a question... My wife has her Colombian passport and it expires in 2010. She was telling me that she wants to go ahead and renew it, so that when she gets her visa it will be on her new passport. Also she says that if she does not renew it now.... it may be more dificult in 2010 since she will be here in USA. My question is.... Will she need her Colombian passport after she has her green card? Will she need this passport after she enters USA? Will she need this passport for traveling? I am very sorry for these maybe stupid questions... But I have no clue....

Another question... At what point, after she arrives to USA (Florida) can she travel for example to Puerto Rico (to meet my family)? Will she need to wait for her green card? How does this work?

She told me she was a size six in Colombia, but here it seems to be a size zero to two or even a 14 to 16 in the kids section.

I have a plan that includes 500 minutes for me to call and ALL MY RECEIVED CALLS ARE FREEEE. YES FREE!!!! UNLIMITED!!! This is for $35 monthly. I think its a great value. I talk SO MUCH with my wife its not even funny. I used to use ONLY orbitel... and the monthly expense was ridiculous.

I just thought that this might help you out a little... since I know how hard it is the phone expense. If they ask you who recomended you... and if you want to tell them... Then just send me a private message and I will give you my telfono rojo number and information.

As long as she has a SSN or an ITIN then its not technically illegal. I've known of people that have done so, but I would advise against doing so due to that very fact. She is not residing with you so technically you are not joint.

Thanks HAL 9000... I called the IRS today and they told me that it is completely legal to file my taxes jointly with my wife... There is a form you have to fill out... W-7... I am still researching to see how the whole process works... it is VERY beneficial to have her in my taxes...

No, CR1 petitioners go through all of this at the NVC. Once the case reaches the embassy everything was already received and approved.

You are correct, one DS230 per aplicant which in this case are your fiancée and her son, and one DS2100 for petitioner, in this case you, and the passport copy is per applicant

The DS-2100 is not about the petitioner but it's all infor about the beneficiary, or beneficiaries in your case, telling the US embassy that they have ALL documents they told them to get before the interview. Only 1 DS-2100 is needed since your fiancée and her son are related. This is what the DS-2100 instructions say:

FORM DS-2100

NOTIFICATION OF APPLICANT READINESS

You, or your agent, may notify United States Embassy Bogotá that you are ready for an interview by using this Form DS-2100. The form indicates that you and your family members (if applicable) have obtained all the necessary documents for the immigrant or K visa interview.

I would like to know if I can submit the N-400 package 90 days before the 3 year mark... That is how I did the Removal of Conditions package and had no issues at all... Is this ok for the N-400 package as well? Will this not cause any problems?

I hate taxes..........

Ok... I have a question... My wife is Colombian and I am the USC. My wife has NEVER been to USA. I live in FL and never lived in Colombia....I know that I have to fill a W-7 to obtain her ITIN, since this is the first time I file taxes as married filing jointly. Ok... Do I have to put her income on the 1040... By reading this forum I think so... I would have to add it to my wages on line 7 and then subtract it on line 21.... right? her salary is very little.... its aprox. $4,500... Another question... When filling out the form 2555ez... what should I mark on questions 1, 2 and 3... I sincerely do not know if these questions should be answered by me or by my wife.......

PLEASE HELP!!!!
