Good morning everyone!
Our cases (3) got approved yesterday so I am now joining this thread!
My husband is the USC, married for nearly 3 years, lived abroad together (France and UK) up until February '13 when he went back to the States to work and prepare a home for us.
I have 2 children from a previous relationship.

We're elated to find out we've been approved, after a glitchy start.

I'm looking forward to advancing on this long journey together!

I will now wait until 04/10 to start calling NVC to get a case number.
Oh, and we're travelling to the US in 6 days for my brother-in-law s wedding, I'm taking docs to show that we will be returning to France (lease and employment contract, as well as doctor's appointments for my son).

Did you not receive anything by post?
I received a letter from the Embassy 2 days after the interview date was set up.
It contained a letter confirming the date, but also some specific instructions.
I know your interview is in next week, you might want to email them to explain that..
Or I could email you a copy of the instructions I received, they are for the Paris Embassy but I m assuming some of the info is generic.

I have a suggestion: should we write EXP next to the cases who are expedited? I know a couple of May people who are. We know thatbif the cases are expedited, we usually get an interview date faster, hence the timings can be incorrect...

Good morning everyone,

I have just contacted the NVC to ensure our documents had been sent on the 24th and they were indeed.

Also, the CSO (Rose) also told me that they send the paper copy via DHL and also an electronic copy via email. 

So, effectively, embassies receive our files the same day they are shipped.

I have cheekily emailed the Embassy to ask for an interview date as they've received our files electronically. After all, who doesn't ask, doesn't get!

Yeah I'm sending my husband copies of my payslips up to the interview date... but we frontloaded the IV packet instead of sending supporting documents with the I-130 (NOT RECOMMENDED) so we should be OK on that. We have gone over and over all the paperwork and decided we have done everything we could. All we have to worry about now is what questions he will be asked at the interview.

Speedwell, just make sure his date and numbers (as in how long you've known each other or have been married). I'm glad I have the interview, I know my husband would be pretty useless with these :)

OK my interview is on Monday. I just wanted to double-triple check - I need my sponsor's and my co-sponsor's new tax return, but they don't need to fill out a new AOS form right? Right?!
 
Other than the photographs (4 including the medical), passport, appointment letter and medical results, I don't need to bring anything else either right? So stressful.


Im getting my husband (the sponsor) and my mother in law (co-sponsor) to email me copies of the payslips they ve had since we sent the AOS, plus letters my husband sent us and any pictures we ve had together since our I130.
Don t forget the photos for the Embassy have to be in the US format.

Me personally, I called twice a week until I finally got an answer. It may have shown up a day or two earlier, but Dec 2nd is when I got confirmation it was there, at least. I don't know what the average processing time is at the NVC, I feel pretty happy about getting pushed through there in under a week.

Hey everyone. Thanks for the invite. I sent the I-129f on the 12th. Was received yesterday. Hopefully we all have smooth and quick experiences. I'm from Utah and my fiancée is in the Philippines. We're trying our best to find patience. 8 months here we come!

I'm in Utah, too! (Utah County, to be specific.) It's great to see another Utahn here waiting.

 

I posted in the October Filers thread, but I'm another of those who can kind of claim October or November. I mailed in my application for my fiance the end of October, got my NOA1 on Halloween, case status changed to "under initial review" and Alien Registration # assigned on November 1st. Touched again for something on November 4th. Now I'm hoping that the quick turnaround times for others continue for a while! Please, please... My fiance is in Egypt, which I think has the slowest embassy in the world right now so I can use a bit of good luck here stateside.

 

Good luck to everyone else. It's nice to be plodding through this disaster with others who understand!

My case finally "arrived" in Cairo today. I am pretty sure it's been sitting on a desk in Cairo for a while -- it left NVC about three weeks ago and I doubt they sent it by boat. Anyway, Cairo is slower than molasses right now so it'll probably still be five months at least before he gets his interview. I'm going to contact a congressional aide to see if there is anything they can do to expedite my case right now because I got some bad news in another part of my life yesterday and I might qualify for a "financial duress" expedite. It's at least worth looking into.

Although in my case i missed the "in transit" message. The "ready" message reads....

 

"Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section.

If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents

as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date

and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment."

 

Sooo I don't think they scheduled your fiances interview just yet!

Remember how upbeat and happy I was before? Now I'm two weeks post RFE and feeling suddenly like the world has caved in. Shouldn't an RFE reply be faster than normal people go from NOA1 to NOA2? I know that this process has been months and months for people in the past, so I shouldn't complain! But it's hard to stay optimistic when I don't even know if I got it right this time. Will I get another RFE is I didn't check all the right things this time? The unknown is starting to kill me. And after all this and after NVC, the Cairo embassy is RIDICULOUSLY SLOW.
 
Depression is finally setting in, six weeks later.

no0pb.gif You are so positive and that's so awesome! Please tell me how you were informed of the RFE at 7:45 am. I want to assume text or email because of the specific time you mentioned. The reason I ask is because I never got a text or an email or even a case update to RFE status on the USCIS website, but today (11/22/13) I came home form work and I checked the mail and I got a RFE in the mail. The RFE is dated November 16th. I'm actually rather confused by it because we sent in what they are requesting and we are working with an immigration attorney. By no means do I mean that my lawyer is infallible...in fact right now I feel like I should have done this myself. Anyways, please let me know. Thanks. Good luck to you.

Hi! I got a text message first and I think the email arrived while I was still staring (stunned) at the SMS. It happened within minutes of each other I believe. The physical RFE arrived in the mail today (next business day, but three actual elapsed days from the digital notices.) I mention that so people know that they mail things VERY QUICKLY. I almost wondered if they had actually prepared it all the night before and just sent the message the next morning because it was 6:45 am California time. Do they really work that early? But I had checked my account the night before and it hadn't been touched according to the system, which I assume is the most current thing.

 

Anyway, I got it in the mail today around 4:45 p.m. and mailed off my reply at 5:30 p.m. I had not checked a couple boxes that I assumed only applied to military. My mistake, but I'm glad I apparently got everything else done the right way. PHEW! I hope I got it right this time. I tried calling USCIS to clarify something (as her their suggestion on the letter) and they only gave me a long message about RFEs in general and telling me to call an attorney with any specific questions. Lame!

 

I'm sorry you're having some frustration with your process. The whole thing is so overwhelming. I'll be relieved when I got my NOA2 that means I got it right the second time. It'll be so frustrating if I got it wrong a second time! I even included a short letter explaining my answers this time, so I'm crossing my fingers!

Congrats! I have the exact same dates for mine but no NOA2 yet. I wonder if it will take longer to run background checks or if they do things more thoroughly since my fiance is from the MIddle East. Of course I'll probably never know. :)

The worst part is that the last update was on Nov 4th for me, and I can't help thinking that they have not touched our case ever since. And it is SO frustrating to see people who filled DAYS before me with their NOA2. I guess we have no other choice but to wait.... 

Ditto! Alien registration # changed on November 1st and then it got touched on November 4th. NOA1 on 10/31 and there are people who got NOA1 on 10/30 who already have NOA2! Nerve-wracking! Did I forget to sign anything? Will they request additional evidence? Will the whole process suddenly slow down again and take months even though it seems like it should happen in the next week or two? So many questions! This process is crazy!
