My I-129F petition was received on June 14, 2011...

I assume you have your NOA1 and that is your "received date?" If not, then you need to contact them.

If you are waiting for your NOA2, then you are still in the "window" of normal. Go to www.uscis.gov and check your status. My NOA2 date was Nov. 1, but the only reason I know this is because I checked the WWW page. I do not have the certificate yet.

One other thing -

Looking back over the photos, I got a hair cut half way through my last trip. The photos we have look like they were from two different trips as my hair is very different.

I am not saying this should be done, but it is an interesting effect.

I went to the Phils between the NOA1 and NOA2. Not a problem. We now have a few new photos for the interview.

If it works out, be there for the medical and interview. It would be nice moral support.

Best of luck

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresForgot To Make Copies of Our K-1 Visa Forms ( -_-*)
Do not add dates or signatures to your copies. Just use the copies you have. While it is not needed to have a copy at the interview, it is a good idea to know the information. What you don't want to happen is to have what you claim to be a copy, but with a forged signature and a different date and for some reason someone to notice you have differing dates.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-134 is a promise to support for ten years

The above quote came from this page: http://immigrationfr...story-t153.html

Is the information in the quote accurate and if so, wow.

That whole site seems like a mess filled with bitterness and I think it would be foolish to trust any of it.

It is absolutely true there is some fraud in marriages and immigration. It is also absolutely true that people can be blinded by emotions. And it is also true that when people separate, for whatever reason, people often skew things to their favor and want to blame the other person.

No one forced these people to get married. They may blame their spouse for their heartache, but it takes two. Anyone not willing to share in the blame in a failed relationship is likely responsible for more than their share.

You don't need all that extra stuff and it can only get in the way. The I-129F should not be a life story. USCIS looks for fraud and to see if the requirements are met. Mine was bare bones and there was no RFE. The do not want to see 20 photos. They want one within the last two years. They also dont want a year of chat logs. They want the affirmation of intent to marry within 90 days.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWill terrorist activity expedite processing?
I have been to Southern Mindanao many many times. Even met Pacquiao once years ago when he was still starting out. There are always bombings going on down there. I would not worry about it and it is unlikely to be a cause to expedite. As bad as it sounds sometimes, it is still safer than Detroit on Halloween night, or just about any major city when their team wins an NBA championship.

Our honeymoon plans.....stay right where I a have waited forever it seems to get to. With my Honeybun. Don't want to venture further than our home. Getting reacquainted again after being away for a few months. I just don't want or need to go anywhere for awhile...
Terri

This is my plan: I want to show my Fiancee her new country. I want to take a road trip so she can see the country. We will stop at the various places along the way. I want her to know my country... and now hers. I have been to her country many times and traveled there more extensively than she has. I want her new home and learn about our people and history.

San Francisco, Napa, Yosemite, Seattle, Glacier, Yellowstone, Canyonlands / Moab, Grand Canyon, Vegas, Los Angeles - Maybe a three week tour of the west.

When she has her green card - PARIS!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHoneymoon Travel

Yes, my fiance and I have same plan with yours. But, instead dreaming about cruise ship by now, I have my own issue regarding after I entered POE by K-1 Visa in Guam. Someone told me that IF I am flying to Hawaii or US mainland and make a stop in Japan for transit, I'll consider out from US.Posted Image. I guess we just need to wait for a while after AP accepted and we can fly to any country we wanted.

Landing in Guam, Japan, or any other place is fine as long as you do not leave the airport specifically the parts of the airport you will be using. It will be VERY EASY to know if you are leaving the airport as there will be an immigration station and you will need a VISA to go through this area. Changing planes is not a problem. Layovers of 3, 6 or even 12 hours are not a problem. These airports have restaurants, and even have little traveler hotels where you can get a shower and nap on a real bed for a reasonable fee, reasonable being relative. Plan to spend $2.00 USD+ for a coke and $10.00 USD for a simple something to eat in this area. You are a captured customer with limited choices and prices reflect this.

And just so you do not panic, be aware that when you get off the plane and transfer, there is a transfer inspection. In many airports they will x-ray your carry on baggage and make you go through a metal detector again when you get off the plane before you can make it to the gate for your next flight. They will also ask to see your passport and boarding pass for your next flight. Relax, this is fine.

Thousands of people do this every day. They actually work hard to make it easy to travel.

** Just so you have something to look forward to - A cool thing to do in Japan on the MNL-NRT-USA routes is to have a 8-14 hour layover and take the train into Tokyo for the day. When you have your citizenship it is a fun way to spend the day.

I am not sure what your situation is and what you submitted, but a declaration under oath might be enough. There is a big difference between saying you have seen her, and stating so under penalty of perjury. You might want to include photos and a statement under penalty of perjury as to the dates of the photos.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2 - Consulate : Data points and general over view of what we are looking at for post-NOA2
Just an FYI if you are post NOA2 and looking for your Manila Case Number.

Reviewing the last 10 data points for the Cal. Svc. Center NOA2 to Consulate Received time window, I come up with ranges from 8 days to 57 days. Dropping both of these extremes and averaging the remaining 8 data points, I get an average time frame of 22 days.

It looks like it is 2+ weeks from assignment of a case number to getting the "Packet 3."

Does anyone have a better number for calling from the US for a case number than: (214) 571-1600?

As for where we are now:

Right now we have an NOA2 date of Nov. 1, 2011 and we want to try and be together in the US by Christmas. I figure it will be close, but she has her Passport, NBI clearance, CENOMAR, a full I-134 packet / affidavit and supporting documents, evidence of relationship, etc.

The only piece missing is the Case Number so we can have the medical and schedule the interview.

My thoughts are hopefully we will have a case number by Nov. 23 and can schedule her interview by Dec. 2 (they seem to be about 8 days out). Then she can fly to Manila on the 28th and have her medical and interview the week of the 28th.

Assuming all goes well, she should have a visa by the 9th, and can do her CFO early the week of the 12th, and be here by Christmas.

Complicating things are she is from Bohol, which means flying to Manila for Medical and Interview and a ferry over to Cebu for the CFO.

Anyone have tips or suggestions to avoid hang-ups or to keep us on a good timeline?

Yes, I am aware all sorts of things can go wrong, but I want to cover all the bases I can.

thanks,

I printed them on a color laser printer 2 to a page with captions on the page.

You might put 2 to a page and color photo copy them. They do not need a lot of photos, just one or two of you together with a declaration that the photo is less than 2 years old.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresImmigration lawyer
A lawyer is like fire insurance. Most people never need one and you often won’t know if you needed one until it is too late. (For example, buying fire insurance the day after a fire is too late.) While the process can be done by people that pay attention, this board is filled with stories of people that filed the wrong form, or file a K-1 then got married between their NOA1 and NOA2, or did any one of a number of things that run afoul of the various rules.

If you are careful, pay attention, and willing to live with your mistakes, you can certainly do it yourself.

I am doing it on my own.

But for every five people that “waste” money on a lawyer, there is that one person that looking back, wishes they had hired and attorney and saved a lot of time and aggravation.

Do you need an attorney? No. You do not need fire insurance for your home either.

And if your attorney does their job well, you will not see that you ever needed their help as they will have saved you from the problems that might have derailed your visa process.

But don’t think the money is “wasted.” Just understand what you are buying. You are not buying a visa. You are buying help and assistance in a difficult process that though you can do it on your own, (as I am and many of us are) sometimes help is worth the expense.

Best of luck.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresGeneral information needed

I am from London, England, I have been in a relationship with a girl for over a year now. Since we originally met, we have met up twice since. We are now looking to get married and was just wondering the best process (I will be residing in the States)? We both speak English and are of similar age. She is not on a great salary though but has a wealthy father who is for the marriage.

Do we need to hire a marriage attorney? What is the best way to be with eachother as early as possible?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I hear a lot of conflicting views and two year waiting lists.....
Regards,

Slev

Slev, I'm going to take a long-shot putting together paragraph #1 of this post: I'm going to presume your a United States Citizen (even though from England) and wish to petition for a woman overseas. If this is the case: Her salary, income and/or that of her fathers will have no bearing on the Petition. They will only look at yours alone no matter Fiancee/Spousal Visa Approval.

You do not need a Marridge Attorney (that is for Prenups) I think you mean: Immigration Attorney.
The fastest way to get together seems a Finance (K-1) but if you look at recent trends they are close together as far as timelines. (Spousal Visa)
The need for an Attorney maybe required if there are issues of Criminal Background issues and therefore, such related.
An Attorney may also be helpful if you find the process overwhelming and fell you need help as I did at first.

Lastly, horror stories of 2 years waiting are non existant unless the case is overly complecated.
If your the USC and want to get married and meet the Qualifications to lawfully Petition. JUST GO MARRY HER. Up to You.

If there is no way of proving she has had the vaccinations, then yes she will have to proceed with the mandatory medical at St. Luke's in MNL

Same situation here. Mav has no Medical Records since lost/destroyed over time.
St. Lukes will give the as above "Mandatory Shots" and rest administered State Side.
I post indicated a while back to GET ALL the Shots you can while at Saint Lukes because the Cost is Included in your Medical and could be quite expensive here for the same Shots.

I'm not this far yet, but I would think a Staple would be a distortion of the picture. (Therefore, Not Acceptable if they want to get Picky) I Think as posted above would be OK if it was Approved. I would think: Im sorry if I'm wrong. If the picture is a 2x2 then a small piece of 1/2" x 1/2" Double Stick Tape would work as well. It adheres and is free for Removal from the back of a coated picture. I'm not sure, but using Elmers Glue on the back means the Document will be teared if attempted to be removed. I don't know.

Tim.... 2010 was 17,864.Plus the 9,000 You had in workers comp. You have documentation for that? What they probably will look at is mostly current income although they will go off the 2010 ITR also. Also you have documentation on making that 19,000 this year? Am i making any sense? :bonk: In other words with the documentation of current income you should be fine! Last years AGI (2010 Taxes) was $17,864.00 which is short for 2 but I still recieved $9,000.00 in Workmans Comp Insurance. 2010 taxes for the AGI were Unemployment and cashing a $ 5,000.00 retirement policy.
Current Income for this year is $ 10,784.00 in Unemployment Compensation.
I'm a Union Painter and Got hired as a Paint Foreman and the rate of pay is $ 20.00 per hour Full Time/40 per week. So $800.00 a week. I start Monday morning.
I know to save Check stubs. But I'm afraid having only 4 or 5 weekly check stubs for Mav's Interview will not look good. Moreover, I would exspect work to slow down in November and Deffinately in December.
Should I Set a Interview date NOW? I Don't Know how the Manila Embassy will look at this.

I read my own First post and it sounds confusing to me: I always get confused.
2010 was $ 17,864.00 Plus an additional $9,000.00 in workmens comp. So 2010 income is $ 26,864.00

This is the correct model for the letter of intent?

It is true that the only two cards must be the address of the petitioner?

LOOK:

Fiancée Letter of Intent

ADDRESS

(Only the address of the petitioner on both letters)

United States Department of Homeland Security
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services
P.O. Box 660151
Dallas, TX 75266
August 1, 2011

Dear Sir or Madam:

I, (petitioner’s name / beneficiary's name) do hereby state that I am legally able and willing to marry (petitioner’s name / beneficiary's name), and intend to do so within 90 days of my/his/her arrival into the US using the K-1 visa.

Yours truly,

NAME

I'm alittle confused by your post. My concern would be that each Letter of Intent be separate (Petitioner/Beneficiary) Signed and dated in INK. I think you need separate letters of intent to marry and not both on the same paper. Though it may seem OK. It is not a Normal approach to Documenting a Letter of Intent. I suggest: 2 Documents from each of you to Marry within 90 days.

No, USCIS will not approve your petition. You have gotten the right answers and advice. USCIS will keep the filing fee, you will have to meet and then refile

Good luck

PS - unless you included VERY compelling reasons why you two did not meet, there is no chance your petition will be approved

This reminds me of my First Info-Pass Appointment and was based on this subject. Do we have to meet? I would rather use the money for plane tickets and other expenses. She looked at me behind that glass window and said: Just write a letter to us why you did'nt meet. Then she warned: If it is rejected you will have to pay again and refile. I was such a dummy. OH! I just need to write a Letter. :bonk: . I was so new to this process I knew no better. I really believed for 2 days until I seen an Attorney that the Lady at USCIS had her Laugh for the day.

There are rare exceptions for not meeting within 2 years but don't count on them applying to your Case.
