Thank you so that sounds more better in my situation. I have my two sons i raise on my own and it may be better that i have my mother combine her income with mine because we are barley past poverty guidelines.

The roommate is my mother. We decided it would be best to combine income together to help get my wife here without any question of a co-sponsor. So if me and my mother are living together we can combine our income then it sounds? Thank you for your quick answer.

I received the second letter over the weekend and have not been able to post a reply to my situation. My Senator received a reply from the USCIS in regards to my petition. It almost seems I'm in some administration process. This is absolutely nuts.

Could anyone please read my response back and give there advise as to what further back ground checks they may be referring to?

My case is now going on 8 months this coming week with no decision. I need the best positive advise at this moment.

Thank you for you advise. I feel that is wise as well. I did get another touch today. maybe God is doing something for us.

This is a pattern of touches ever since the Senator has intervened with our case. I pray that everything goes more fast.

But you are right I think I may take a month break with my wife and go see her for the month of February if nothing has changed by the first of the month.

Thank you god bless

All right here we go. I got the Senator to help me. I contacted them with this letter I have in my prior post to the Senate. The Senator him self wrote me back in two business days. This is what they said in my attachment above. “I'm happy my letter did something. “

Now here is the very strange thing that has happened. My case was touched for the first time in 8 months since I received my original receipt. It was last updated today very strange. But the information is still the same? So does this mean they did something and it's just not posted yet?

When I spoke to the Senators secretary she was very much understanding about my situation and almost seemed more bothered by the fact that USCIS was behind with my case. Please guys keep me in your prayers I'm praying for good news here. good.gif

I got news today from my local congressman. I do not know if this is the excuse of USCIS or really the truth. My congressman said today that he got a message that we are stuck in further background checks or further checks as needed. What this means I do not know? But my guess it means really nothing but the same thing as what I thought they were already doing. "meaning making a reason to buy more time?"

I already sent out my request to my local Senator. I had to fill out some private act form. I sent my form and letter like this. See attachment.

as for my wife she is NUMB and drained. I'm going to fight to the end until I cannot fight no more. I have gave my wife the option on what she wants me to do. She said let's have faith in God and try until February to see if anything changes. If not Wow I need my battery charged and just pray to God for a sign what to do?

I have two little boys that I raise on my own. Relocating our family to South America will be more then a challenge. I will keep everyone posted. sad.gif

Thank you for the strong support. I will be very strong. I'm trying so hard. I will take some time to strengthen things up with my wife in February. I need this time to get us prepared in case we are in a huge delay of some sort. But in the mean time tonight I'm also contacting my Senator next too. This can at least help me make some sort of progress on my end.

God bless and thank you for the replies.

Thank you for the replies. Yes I'm not going to give up. Allot has to do with my wife feeling that Immigration is winning and being alone so long and not able to enjoy our marriage. I'm going to go ahead and follow through with my actions and continue to battle with them. In the mean time I'm going to plan to stay with my wife and build on personal matters and make that more strong. But can you believe that I had to argue with USCIS to get anything done. Thanks to those who have responded. I pray to hear something positive shortly.

I need others feedback and help. My case has been pending for seven months now with no approval, denial or RFI. Every time I call I get BS stories about my case not being 6 months of business days, or some other excuse. I have finally came to the since that they have lost my case.

I contacted my local Congressman Peter Defazzio and they sent a e-mail to California Service Center. This was about a week ago no response yet.

I called USCIS Thursday and made a request for a service expedite on my case. The officer on the phone was trying to give me some BS excuse that I have to wait 30 days outside of the 6-month processing time. I called them on the 7th month from my petition being received May 19, 2007. I called them December 19, 2007 and had to argued with three different officers and one supervisor to get them to start a expedite service. I called them out on their BS excuses.

I’m at the point to just pack up and move to Colombia with my wife. But I know that it will be very challenging if I do. But my wife is very much feeling the same as me.
So my self and my wife have decided to give it until February to see some sort of decision or change. If not well then my Visa friends I have to pull out. I do not understand what is going on with these people at USCIS. But they have their ways of trying to wreak marriages.

God bless you all and please feel free to send your helpful replies. My wife is already showing signs of weakness from this process of waiting. I’m afraid to lose her. Our attorney suggested that I should take a break and go down there for one month to strengthen things up? My wife feels the same; we need energy and positive strength here.

God bless every one. helpsmilie.gif

Thank you for the positive encouragement. I pray to get my approval soon too.

Hello visa friends. I'm here on this site to ask for positive advise and share my situation. I ask for positive encouragement and knowledge.

Me and my wife's visa application has been pending one year as of May 19, 2008.

We have the local congressman involved in our casse. letters have been sent to the California service center and we keep getting the same responce back. PENDING FINAL SECURITY CLEARANCE. Is there anything i can do to expidite this case or take it through another legal hoop?

This is making our process very difficult. God bless everyone and please respond with positive feedback. This has been very difficult for our marriage and our emotions not going anywhere in this one year pending.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureswhat happens next?
Hello,

My case was approved after two long years of waiting an approval. Now I'm off to the National Visa Center. Does anyone know the time frame from approval to NVC responce and what happens next? What documents do I start gathering? I have a new employer I have been working for since March 1, 2009. I know I will need a letter of employment verification correct?

What should my letter state as for employment? Anyone's answers would be thankful.

I was wanting to request some guidance on what should I be getting put together for the next step? I just received my IV bill to pay the 400 dollars and the 70 dollars to the national visa center. I have done that already. Should I be getting certain forms signed now and ready? Visa journey advise would be greatful. My wife is due in November, i'm trying to be prepared for the next step as fast as I can.

Thank you everyone.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresIncome that is considered on the affidavit of support.
hello Visa Journey supporters. My question was about the affidavit of support. I have my last three years of taxes. I also have a letter of reference from my work. I also want to include my child support as house hold income. I receive support from my ex-wife by court order with my two children, 338.00 per month. I have a transcript copy of payments from the last three years from the Department Of Justice certified. Will this work?

It was some theft at a store. My wife and her cousin. this was about 6 years ago. She had a outstanding fine to pay. Now the case will be closed. the DAS told her to go do this before issuing her a police clearance. Now if this is on the Police certificate what do we need to do? Is this something they address in the interview? She paid the fine today. She is waiting on some letter saying it's paid to turn into DAS to get the certificate for police clearance.

Hello,

I'm needing some advise on my wife's Police certificate. She went down to DAS today in Colombia. She has this petty theft fgrom 6 years ago with a friend. She was not taken to jail but written some citation. The police came and questioned her and the friend. This was six years ago. Now it's on the Police certificate. What is the next step here when presenting this Police certificate. The man at the DAS said if she paid something they could take it off and then present the certificate. ADVISE would be greatly helpful.

I was wondering do they look at your employment letter as a current employment on your affidavit of support? I'm above income poverty guidelines. My last years taxes were below poverty guidelines a little. My other tax return prior were good. Does anyone know how strict they become with the I-864?

I think the best answer is to just try file the expedite request. I had to wait until I was at the NVC first. My wife is due in November. Our case also has been pending since may 19, 2007. Our request was approved last week. Our paper work was sent to Bogota already.

Needing some advise on our DS-230. Our DS-230 has been turned in already. On the last part of the DS-230 where it asks if you have ever been arrested we put No. My wife got her police certificate back an there is no record. Now my wife and her friend had shop lifted about six years ago. My wife was issued a citation for being with her friend. MY WIFE paid the citation and the case was closed.

Now before our interview should we hand a new DS-230 over explaining the situation about the citation even though her police certificate says nothing???? We are sort of worried about not explaining in the DS-230??????

Today was me and my wife´s interview. They told us today our case was locked in the system. Meaning they could not issue the visa due to one person some how froze our case while asking the first set of questions. This sounds very strange. Later in the day they went ahead and conducted the interview. Asked the questions to both me and my wife.

Apploigized for not being able to issue the visa today. The man said that he wanted to approve the visa but could not because my wife could not get her finger prints, and they could not see our case. They said our documents looked good.

now my wife has to go again tommorw by her self again for finger prints. has anyone heard of this happening....

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresPOLL - How long have you been in 221g / administrative processing?
We are now on AP going on 3 days and it already feels like an eternity. I hate seeing the cases that go on for months, it is so upsetting and discouraging. We submitted more evidence of our relationship to the consulate and we are waiting to hear from him, he says "sometime late next week" which I dont believe for one minute. It also scares me to see how many submitted more evidence, and it didnt matter, they got sent back to the US anyway. It is sad to see that because of all the people who DONT have legitimate relationships, it makes it harder for those of us who DO. I just hope we are not at the beginning of what is going to be a VERY long wait. Somewhere in the back of my mind I am holding on to hope that the consulate officer will change his mind to send our case back to the US once he sees our new evidence, probably foolishly, but as for now, its the only hope Ive got.

GOOD LUCK to everyone out there going through this, with love and dedication, we WILL get through this.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhite paper at interview please help
Our white form just means that they want more time to review our case before issuing or not issuing the visa. Maybe this is what's happening in your case as well. Good luck!!

You do not need to be there for your honey's interview, but it does seem to help if you are. I could not be at mine, and they did ask if I was there. I do think it helps if they can see you two together but it isnt required for you to be there.
