you would have to go through the same document varification if it was cr-1 or k-3. I suppose you could call the embassy to see if you can change type of visa just because it would make a difference in when you would get your green card, but the varification would be the same, you have to be patient just like I do. We have been waiting 9 weeks now.

I have been trying to research the fees that will be coming due with the next batch of forms and when I came across this chart of fees I started to wonder just how many fees would be due. be careful using N/A. some things are "not applicable" means "does not apply" but there are some things that should be filled out NONE. I think most things on this form would be NONE. If there are no other names used then it is NONE. uscis frowns on N/A if the answer is NONE, (I have gotten the impression that uscis beleives most of there questions apply) laughing.gif .

I have been wondering if any one had proof of immunizations that they took to the medical exam for interview. My real curiosity is if some one had immunizations done by any other doctor other then the embassy doctors, were they accepted? would a the results from a titer and TB test done by another doctor be acceptable with proper documentation?
I hope there is some one out there that has been through this or knows the answer. I just like to be prepared for all things if possible.

just the letters and numbers, no other symbols. the ones i generated were the same as the fee bill i recieved after i had mailed it biggrin.gif

the only thing i didnt include was paycheck stubs but that sounded like an optional things. I sent 2 years tax transcripts plus copies of w-2 for those years, I had not yet filed my taxes for this year and stated so in the cover letter but I did include copies of the w-2 for this tax year. I think it is because they havent put the IV fee into the system yet...time will tell whistling.gif

if the email had been received by NVC you would have received a confirmation that the email was recieved from an automated response...there would have been no mention of what was received (ds-3032...). it took a week for my husband to actually get a response about the ds-3032.

Welcome aboard. There is a lot of good information here to help you along your journey.
I filed for CR-1 when I looked at all the differences between the 2 (CR-1 and K-3). Not a lot of time difference till your sweetheart joins you here in the USA, faster SSN and green card for them, and no adjustment of status at the cost of $1010.00. You may want to compare the 2 before you decide when way to go...not sending your I129 may be a good thing wink.gif

USC= United States Citizen the reasont for usc to be the agent is faster mailing with in the usa. the agent recieves all paperwork.

I didnt do the I-129 because of having to adjust status here...it take a little longer some times (that is what i was told on VJ) but for my husband to get SSN and green card soon after getting here and saving 1010$ whats another month?
You have to remember the time frame we submitted our papers...just as the fees change and also remember we are dealing with the government here....very little makes sense

It just means your file was moved, looked at, refrenced for some reason. Sometimes if you call it will be "touched". If you are on the USCIS website it will be shown as an update. Most of the time it doesn't mean a whole lot, but sometimes when your time is coming up for approval it will be "touched" because it is being reviewed.

you will notice a change in the date on the case page (your case). my case was never "touched" so dont put too much stock in it.

the foriegn spouse signs it and sends american embassy notarized copy of passport to us citizen to be filed with usa tax forms. all instructions can be found at the irs website and if there are any further questions you can talk with a representative at the irs. the phone number is on the website (not always easy to talk to operator and this time of year could be real tough).

Thank you again. we tried to be ready for all this but there is nothing listed as to what embassy would require for immunizations so i went from cdc. family doctor will give statement for my husband having had the chicken pox as a child so varicella isnt a problem, he did get one dose of MMR so i guess he will be needing one more of those, and he did get the PPD (TB). I guess we are ready, I know I am ready to have him here with me, August '07' was a long time ago.

My husband is in Hyderabad and his interview is in Chennai, he will stay in Chennai to pick up the visa at the VFS office. He is concerned about paying the fee in Hyderabad and having them deliver the passport to the same office and take a week to get to him. Does anyone know if the fee can be paid at the Hyderabad office with instructions to deliver at the counter in Chennai?
The interview is coming up soon (June 6th) and we need to know how to plan for all this with the payment needing to be made 10-15 days prior to interview.

Thank you very much...the nerves have started already, seems like everyday we think of something new to take care of ahead of time such as travel to and from Chennai and when to leave in order to get all the medicals and VFS fees taken care of ect........ wacko.gif

where did you get your information on the fees for medical...I have looked at embassy website and they are quoting 700rs for physical with possible additional fees of 3300rs for immunizations needed, 800rs for lab fees with 9000rs for possible additional lab tests, the courier fees of 365rs and the issuance fees????? I beleive those were all included in the 400$ paid for IV fee bill paid to NVC (this is according to what NVC told me).
if you know of something different plz share your source

My fiancé is living in another country too. I don't think the process is changed much at all by this. You can choose which embassy to do the interview at, so she is free to interview at the US embassy of Columbia. You'll just need to make sure she gets a police clearance form/certificate from Columbia as well as Peru. :) Good luck!

I've read many times that this it true as well. I don't think you'll have a problem.

My fiancee was in Tawain working when we started the K-1 process, even though she is Philippine citizen. She did move home shortly after we started the process, so it's not the same as you. But the USCIS messed things up and assigned the Taiwan US Embassy even though I specifically filled out the I-129F for the Manila USEM. Apparently they had no problem with her using the USEM in Taiwan even as a Philippine citizen. Too bad they did that though. It added a whole nother week or two to our never ending process in order to get it changed back to Manila.

I can't believe I'm the only one from CSC today. Maybe it is my fault. They probably spent all day reading my very long divorce decree and didn't have time for anyone else. Sorry everyone. I hope they make it up tomorrow with a record number of approvals.
