the K-2 to to be issued within one year from date K-1 is issued, so remember to allow enough time to set up an interview.

Looks good!

You may need a letter of consent from the father for your anak to immigrate.

Also it's WAY better, logistic wise, if anak accompanys you to the US unless you are planning to go back and get him.

Looks like you aren't planning to take anak to the interview as you don't have DS forms for him.
I suggest you look into doing so.
Easier now than mamaya!
Medical naman!

We agreed that I'll be back to get him next year soon as I have my GC.....

Bring everything you can think of that an employer may ask for. Also at least 2 copies of NSO Certified documents that relate to your case.
Concentrate on your interview for now and have everything as perfect as possible.
Without approval you won't have to worry about what to bring!

thanks beckypua for the advice.......
but I think I have all the documents ready for interview, hopefully the Co has good mood on my interview smile.gif

PhilippinesNWA
QUOTE (john_and_marlene @ Sep 26 2007, 07:15 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Just be careful not to go over the limit. When we returned from a trip in January (Peak Season), overweight bags were charged $600 per bag and extra bags were charged $245 per bag. We already had 1 extra bag, but had 2 overweight and ended up purchasing a shipping box and redistributing the things between the overweight bags and the shipping box. We ended up with 6 bags total (2 excess) and had to pay $245 X 2, plus the cost of the box ($10) = $500 extra for the luggage.

My wife really likes to shop! The two overweight bags were stuffed to about 36 kg each.

wow ohmy.gif
thanks for sharing, I'll make sure I wont exceed the limit, the price I'll pay is a way more compared with the things I'm gonna bring biggrin.gif

There is an exception for travel between the Philippines and the U.S. on NWA.

From their website:

Exceptions for trans-Pacific travel wholly between U.S./Canada and the Philippines , China and Hong Kong , checked pieces may weigh up to 70 pounds (32 kg) each.

I have traveled on NWA many times between The U.S. and the Philippines with luggage weighing very close to the 70 pound limit.

thanks john_and_marlene, at the other side they're saying its 70lbs too, thanks for the confirmation good.gif

PhilippinesQuestion about child
QUOTE (Tsup2 @ Oct 7 2007, 09:39 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
My Fiance has a 3 year old son. The father is an American who abandoned her when he found out she was pregnant. The birth certificate does not list a name for the Father and is blank. I am concerned that embassy officials will want the identity of the father and require his permission for her son to leave the Philippines. He is in the United States and his whereabouts are unknown. Even if his location was known and we could contact him there is no incentive for him to assist her since if the child came to the US and paternity could be proven he would be subject to paying child support. Does the embassy require permission from Filipino fathers for their child to leave the country. Any info appreciated. Thanks

if the child will travel with either one of his parents, DSWD wont require any travel clearance

that's why we're trying to clarify things..so others will not get nervous that much & just focus on whats REALLY needed for the interview..

yes but my point is letting them know in mind whats their passport number is no big deal, cant make them nervous or rattle cause they can just have that in mind for few minutes.....

this is what I've heard and I only wanna share it won't hurt you right?

oooopppsss...i dont mean anything, but such thing is really funny.
Skyblue, that K1 applicant you chatted with, might be lying.. & just trying to exaggerate the situation...
I pressume this is what Jasman was trying to imply in such reply.
Not memorizing the passport number will let you get a disapproval from the US EMbassy nor in any like situations... blush.gif

maybe shes exaggerating or not, I just wanna add some things that people might be aware of.....those little things could mean a lot when you didn't make it....

our aim here is trying to help with the others yet that who are still waiting for their interview and not to make unnecessary comments just cause we already had get thru it blink.gif

hi I'm not David, but I wanna try to answer some of your Qs.....

it depends its case to case. I'm on K1 and from filing to interview took 6 months.....
Medical will be done here except for the TD shots which is not available here in PI

according to your time line you filed on March 27, should probably you have your MNL case assigned already and have the schedule for Interview....if you observed most late March filers have their November Interview and some are already done.......
