They didn't email it to you? Of course all they email is thanks we got your packet three now you can book here's links lol.

Heads up for booking: dr cheema is away middle to end of may, so book your consular appointment accordingly.

Thank you! I was planning for mid/end of June. so hopefully I can book right away before it gets too full.

I sent in my confirmation for D160 form and Checklist and got an email saying thanks and they're in the process of mailing me packet 4. I haven't gotten it yet... so if it just says "thanks and here's how you book" I think I'll just book it now so I can try and get the times I want. :)

CanadaCanada Immigration & K1 Guide for Montreal

@kc247: I have a Feb 2014 date and I would like a sooner one ,but I think we do have to cancel existing one to view calendar. But this message is a bit confusing too..

If you need to reschedule for a different date/time within the existing trip purpose, select 'Reschedule Appointment' below. To change your trip purpose, you must first cancel your existing appointment (select 'Cancel Appointment') and schedule a new one.

so the trip purpose is K-1 ,if I click reschedule it gives me only dates on or after the day that has already been scheduled. would rather not cancel and risk losing date

Hope there was another way around it :(

i updated my interview day checklist for you (and others). the pink dots reflect the things you MUST take with you. (for the i-134, you can do sole-sponsorship or co-sponsor. so depending on what you do for that, you may only need the primary sponsor's (that would be the USC) financial information.)

Thank you SO much for posting your list!! You're awesome, this will really be helping us all out. rose.gif

United KingdomBaked Beans!

Hi all fellow Brits. Just a quick find - I have been paying over $2 for Heinz beans in Kroger and recently tried their own brand 'Vegetarian Beans' $0.63 a tin. Taste like any tin of British supermarket baked beans! Happy days! Although my wife doesn't think me eating too many beans will make her happy!

Hey thanks for the tip! We spend $2.50 per can at Albertsons. My husband is the Brit, but I could live on beans and toast.

Europe & Eurasia (except the UK and Russia)Found Cheap One-Way Flight LAX - LGW
I FINALLY found a cheap flight for my husband just now, BUT it's one-way.

Wish me luck getting him back to the U.S.

Anyway, his flight is from Los Angeles to Gatwick, $750. US Airways.

Found it on OneTravel.com, for anyone who has given up trying to find a good R/T price and just needs to get to the U.K. or come to the U.S.

ChinaI129-F - Am I missing anything else?

Think I covered everything. Thanks again, everyone!

I should add, it's good you're going to visit her again. You MIGHT get RFE-d for evidence, so be ready with receipts (yours AND hers, with names dates and times highlighted to show the two of you at the same place concurrently), ticket stubs (again, yours AND hers, etc.), and maybe get some pics of you and your fiance with her parents, family, etc.

Chat transcripts are great. Written, signed statements attesting to the validity of your relationship are also great. Anything in another language should be translated by a professional, and if you can notarize the translation, even better. Before you put anything in your packet (short of the forms), ask yourself, "will this make the IO's job easier, or more difficult?"

That's how my husband and I continue to proceed with our immigration cases.

ChinaI129-F - Am I missing anything else?

There's only one pic of me and her with co-workers/friends. The rest is only me and her. Think this might cause a minor red flag

Nope, my dear, you should be fine. My husband and I only had one pic of him, me and my family. The rest were just of us. If you can get more in time for the interview, great. But pics of the two of you together with family and friends will really come in handy at AOS time.

I am 7 months younger than her. Hope this doesn't pose any :wow: (red flag) since it's usually vice versa. But in the pics, she definitely looks much younger than her age.

Honey, I am seven YEARS younger than my husband, and USCIS has yet to take him away from me, knock on wood. No worries, and good luck! (F)

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMedical - Anxiety/Panic Attacks - A Problem?

The public health system in England isn't what it's cracked up to be.

My Honey's told me this as well.

I think you'll do just fine at the medical, hope we've all been able to help make you feel better about it. I'm over here rooting for you! And btw, I have absolute RESPECT for all the Beneficiaries on this site - all the things they have to do to be with us USCs. You must be mentally and emotionally exhausted at this point, Steve.

Be well, friend. smile.gif

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMedical - Anxiety/Panic Attacks - A Problem?
Awww ... Steve, I don't know you, but *hugs* - I have Panic/Anxiety Disorder, and honestly, I don't think it's crucial for you to bring your disorder up during your medical, as I really feel the medical is more about assessing one's physical state upon entering the US. Leave the Panic/Anxiety for your GP to sort out ... maybe talk to him about prescribing you a small dose of Xanax or, what I take, Propranolol. It's a Beta-Blocker, prevents adrenaline rush, and you better believe I'm not getting on my upcoming flight to England (to collect the Honey) without it.

I hope this helps. Once you get to the US, maybe see about getting some therapy if your wife puts you on her insurance. I find that working out and watching the caffeine help keep me centered, and I only use the Propranolol when needed (like on planes or in meetings). And NO researching symptoms online - I fell into a DEEP health anxiety doing that, ended up having an MRI/CAT scans on my head and spine, an upper GI Series, ultrasounds, an EKG on my heart ... ugh, you name it. I was so sure something was wrong with me that I looked for things to be wrong. If anything, I hope your results give you peace of mind, but it just sounds as if you're simply stressed out and exhausted with the Visa and issues with her ex in the States.

Best of luck, I mean that sincerely. smile.gif

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionIf Unemployed, What Does One Put On the I-134?
Gary and Alla, thank you.

Yes I am technically employed now, but I will most likely NOT be employed by the time my fiance is scheduled for his interview, and that was when I was going to complete and send the I-134 to him. If I can send it NOW, then I will enter my current employment, but I'm assuming that they want the most current information; if the interview is scheduled for July, I'm guessing that employment verification from a couple of months prior is not going to be sufficient.

A sincere thanks to everyone who replied. I truly appreciate it. smile.gif

Line #7 on the Affidavit of Support form - I am employed as or engaged in the business of ...

If we do not have a place of employment, what do we put? I am technically at my job (I am currently on "paid leave") until June 1st, but I've already got my sponsor lined up, as it's very likely that my fiance will have his interview after June 1st. This one question is killing me. I've searched all over VJ for an answer, and I don't think I can just leave the line blank. helpsmilie.gif

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionBank Account for Affidavit of Support
I didn't forward anything from my bank to my fiance. I sent the I-134, my W2 and tax returns (Federal and State) for '08, plus transcripts for '07 and '06 (they're free and can be ordered by your fiance through the phone @ 1-800-829-1040) and my three most recent pay stubs. If it turns out to not be sufficient, I assume my Honey will probably just get blue slipped for whatever else is required. From what I've read in the Embassy reviews for UK (your country may be different), a blue slip RFE delays a complete Visa approval for as long as it takes to send in the extra required evidence, so I've decided to just send what I can and not worry about it. I feel you though ... I was STRESSED OUT at the start of the Affidavit, didn't know where to start. Hope this helps. smile.gif
