I really feel for you... but, two years?  Your timeline shows one year?   I myself are waiting on NOA2 and every day I come here to read other people's stories... makes me feel a part of something larger, I guess.   Your video... amazing!!!    I haven't waited 2 years, but it seems like yesterday (early January 2014) when we filed. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Interview and Fee's	I posted this in the Canada sub-forum but maybe this is a better place...    My interview is tomorrow and I was going over my interview confirmation email and making sure I have all my documents. I paid $280 for medical and $240 when I set my interview online at www.usvisa-info.com.    The email confirmation I received asked me to bring my fee of $240... is this the same fee that I already paid? or is there another $240 fee at the interview and one to just book it online? On my confirmation email it says that I have a MRV Fee Receipt #. I also noticed that my email confirmation asked for DS-156 still... which has now been replaced with DS-160. I printed the confirmation but not the whole application. Should I be printing the whole application as well? With that being outdated, I wonder if the $240 fee to bring to the consulate is also outdated and that the fee I paid to book my interview online is the same fee they're asking for.    Thanks! They said that my visa would be sent to me within 5-8 business days. I checked CEAC and CSC website, but neither show me if it's being delivered. CEAC still says "ready" and to book my interview... I have been reading this site for months and know that its very hard to pinpoint a time the visa could take. I would like to go back to school and study for 10 months before leaving for the usa, would this be a smart idea? or are most K1 visas taking 1 year to be approved?   any advice would be great   Like others have said, you should be able to do your schooling. Even once approved, you have 6 months (from your medical date) to enter the US under your k1 Visa.    For me, we sent our petition in January. I had my medical in April and my interview in May. I'm not sure there's a packet 4, because they are already explaining how to schedule the interview in this one.   I'm sure each embassy is slightly different. If it says you can book and interview, then go for it. That was just the process the Canadian offices follow. Congrats on getting to this step. You're well on your way to being with your fiance. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	January 2014 Filers	CEAC status is now ready, so I'm expecting packet 3 from the embassy soon. Can you tell me what was in it? Any documents I need to get from the petitioner? Also, regarding the medical: did you have to get any additional vaccinations done?   Packet 3 is a checklist that they'll ask you to complete and send back. Along with it, there's an online DS-160 form that you need to fill out. You'll also need to forward the completion confirmation to the embassy. Once they receive that, they'll send Packet 4. Packet 4 will essentially just tell you how to schedule your interview.    The checklist will tell you all the documents that you will need. It'll ask you to check off (but don't need to provide just yet) that you have things like: letter of support, police certificate, photos etc. I would start gathering all the documents need from that checklist now.    For me, I had to get my TDAP shot. It's a booster shot done every 10 years and mine was up anyway. Other then that, I was good. I'm in Canada so our vaccinations are similar to the US so I had everything else that they required me to have from when I was a kid. Bloods take 3 working days to come and then embassy has to send out appointment letter how did you get medical and interview so close together ?   No, Canada.    It takes about 24 hours to turnaround here. We did the medical in the morning and was able to pick up the results next day.    In Canada, when they send you packet 4, you're able to schedule your interview online. My first interview was in June and then I checked back a few days later and was able to get a close one. I guess there was a cancellation? Once I confirmed my interview and got the email from the embassy, I sent a copy to the clinic that does the interview and they were able to schedule me. It was pretty easy... I have my interview next week!    The medical was pretty easy... they asked a few questions very quickly. Some they asked again. They check your ears, nose, mouth, height, weight. Seems like the quick ones are going more by country than by "order".   As far as wedding I planned for end of November.  Going by Gov. estimate it should be September but we dded a few months just in case. I was also HIGHLY recommended not to do this.  I'm taking a big risk in doing it.   I heard there was a way to get the visa expidited if work was offering them a job?  Its something I might look into for my fiancee because a few companies have asked for him but dont want to sponsor.   Canadian here who has gotten NOA 2 and having packet sent to the US Embassy. Good luck to you all!! Not to scare you but you should always factor in delays or ap for visa. September may be close... Some people get their passport and visa right away and others take a month. We've planed ours for spring of 2015 just to be safe. This process is hectic as it is. Planning should be fun. But for us the "wedding party" is in Spring 2015. The NOA2 will be transferred to NVC and then to the embassy in my city?    I'm just preparing the documents needed for the beneficiary and making sure I have all my vaccinations. Can I provide them with a copy of my birth certificate? or do they require the original? Will they give me back the original? I recall reading that after the interview they provide you with a sealed package that you give at POE? I just want to make sure I get my originals back, such as my birth certificate. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Same Day Marriage Certificate California or Nevada	If you're married in a courthouse, can you get one right away?   Not sure... the only thing I've read is that Lompoc in SB can process it same day (license, marriage ceremony and legal certificate) while other places can take 2 weeks to have your certificate sent to the clerk then sent to you. We will do SB if that's the only place around us that will turnaround that quickly so we can start the EAD/AP process (we have a wedding in Canada in 6 months and I hope to be able to go with AP).    We were thinking Vegas because we could have a bigger party with friends and family and also because that's where my fiance and I met... so it's kind of fun to go back. We were planning to go to Lompac in Santa Barbara since it's about a 3-4 hour drive from us and they can process your marriage certificate same day. But now, were wondering if we should make a weekend of it. My parents will be coming to "send me off" and have a week of fun in the US while I move. We were thinking of maybe doing a vegas wedding instead of a court "wedding" since our "real" wedding party won't be until 2015.    I've been trying to look online but a lot of reviews are from years back and mostly about processing the license. As you already received your noa2, you need to prepare and send those documents to your fiancee once completed, so she can review in advance and bring them with her at the interview.   1. Copy of the Entire I-129F Package    2. Original Letter of Intent (dated much closer to the interview)   3. I-134 (Affidavit of Support Form)   + Form download at USCIS: http://www.uscis.gov.../form/i-134.pdf + Sample at VJ: http://www.visajourn.../Form-I-134.pdf   4. Items Needed for the Above Form. Gather duplicate evidence of income and resources as appropriate:        4.1. Bank account information     Statement from an officer of the bank/financial institution with your deposits, identifying the following: 1. date account opened; 2. total amount deposited for the past year; 3. present balance        4.2. Letter from Employer     Statement(s) from your employer on business stationary showing: 1. Date and nature of employment; 2. salary paid; 3. whether position is temporary or permanent        4.3. Any word on clearing customs/entry problems as I-129F filers--particularly in Chicago? The forums here all say it's fine, if a little intense sometimes, but I was just wondering   Since starting our petition in early January, I've visited my Fiance twice. We don't live too far (3 hours) from one another so we plan to visit often. I just make sure that I have enough evidence that I will be coming back. I have a mortgage, so I show them a recent statement with my name on the title and my automatic withdrawals for my mortgage. I also show them any other travel I may have (I travel for business and always fly out of my city) so it shows that I need to be physically back in my city. If you have a landlord, you can ask them to write a letter stating that you are still renting and have paid up to date and have not given notice.    As long as you show that you have ties to your own Country and can show you will be returning when you say you are, you should be fine. Our NOA2 was Sept 11th, I got case # from NVC when I called on Oct 21st, although it reached them Oct 18th acc to CEAC website. Hoping it comes through soon.. Middle East and North Africa	Police clearance UAE	Hello everyone!   Dunno if this is the right place to post this,I am a K-1 visa applicant,interview will be in Montreal,Canada. I have obtained the Police clearance certificate from UAE in Oct 2013. K-1 needs PCC's need to be valid within last 6-12months.
