congrats pwolocen .... could you tell me what is in packet 3 & 4 ? We have been waiting for interview date since Sept 03 ,2010

Thanks for the congrats. Packet 3 & 4 contain forms and instructions for what you must do. Read everything very carefully and you should not have a problem! Packet 4 does have your interview appointment letter in it. Check my signature above and you will see that we waited almost 3 months between P3 & P4.
You can find what exactly is in those packets on this site or the one from the consulate. It is good to look at them ahead of time to get an idea of what you must do.Also more time to prepare. I hope this helps you.

Re: Timeline of relationship with my fiancee,(Beneficiary),(DOB: MM/DD/YYYY)
Case # XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I,(Petitioner), a citizen of the U.S. am the fiance of(Beneficiary). The following is a sworn affidacit documenting the timeline of our relationship.
during( MM/DD/YYYY) to present.

After trying several other dating websites(E-harmony, Match.com, Yahoo Personals, ect.) I joined VietnamCupid, a dating website on 7-Oct.-2009.
on 18-Oct.-2009, I received a message from(Beneficiary). I was amazed that this beautiful woman would have an interest in me. We started
communicating on Yahoo Messenger and webcam. We talked for hours getting to know each other's personality. I found we had a lot in common,
as marital status, interests, and goals. It was during this time we thought we may have a future together. As our relationship grew, she and I both realized
that we had found in each other what we had been seeking for a very long time. We both looked forward to meeting in person, to find out if this relationship
was really our dreams come true.
Upon finally meeting, the chemistry between us was felt immediately. It was as if we had been together for a long time. We were instantly freinds, the comfort
level was more than either of us expected. Our time together was intense, our love for each other, deep and profound. We laughed together, we cried together.
The pain of our being separated weighed heavily on our hearts. We will endure, as our love is strong. We will be friends and lovers for the rest of our lives as
husband and wife. We will make it so, no matter what obstacles are put in our path.

18-Oct-2009 Start communicating on VietnamCupid
18-Oct-2009 After about 10 minutes start comminicating on Yahoo Messenger and webcam

I have finally found the woman I have looked for all my life. She is everything to me. I love her with all my being and wish to spend the rest
of my life with her. Even though we are thousands of miles apart, we are together in heart and mind. It is uncanny that she often knows what I am going to say before I say it. Her ability to communicate in English is more than adequate. In her I have found the qualities I have missed in the past. She is kind, quiet, responsible, trustworthy, playful, sincere, passionate, and most of all loving.
I believe in marriage the most important things are trust, to love and be loved in return. I have definetly found this with (Beneficiary)
(Beneficiary) and I remain in contact while we are apart from each other. I am legally free to and willing to marry(Beneficiary) within 90 days of her arrival.
We intend to marry and look forward to starting our lives togethr as man and wife when she arrives in the U.S.

VietnamHCMC Timeline Resource

Only 4 timelines are in the the thread. Really not worth pinning at this point.

My Timeline is almost the same as Scott's (format, not content). It was accepted when we had to submit additional documents. Those were1) Timeline, 2) My residence for 10 years and who lived with me, 3) Same info from fiancee, 4) Fiancee's relatives in US (address and proof of same)
I am at work and do not have it with me. I will try to post it tomorrow. Mine was much shorter than the examples I have seen so far, but it must have been OK because we got pink! I got the format a while ago off the internet, it was from a lawyer.(We did not use one) I think what you suggest is a good idea and will help many people in the future.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)NVC Notice Error

hi,

I would type up a letter with case number (receipt number), beneficiary's date of birth, beneficiary's name, petitioner's date of birth and name. Then in the content of the email request them to change the name in a correct manner. Notify them that it is currently written like xxx, but it should be written like yyy. Send some sort of poof(i.g. birth certificate, copy of passport) so that they would be able to reassure that it is the same person. I hope this helps. I would also suggest to call them and notify them over the phone about this. once you send them this letter, keep one copy of it to your self and your beneficiary as well. Take it to interview with you just incase if they raise any questions about it, show them that you requested in writing to change the name because they typed it incorrectly. Name should be same on the marriage certificat and passport. Birth Certificate might be different as it is before marriage. First just try to send it without the proofs and call them and see if they already changed the name, if they did not then send it with the proof so you are not giving morethan you need to.

I hope this helps.

Take Care.

Thanks for the great advice. I finally got through to the NVC and she informed me that my petition had already left the NVC and we would have to correct the error at the counsulate! This morning I received a response to my e-mail and it confirmed what the operator had told me. We must present her passport to the counsulate either by mail or in person. I advised my fiance to go in person to make sure the problem was taken care of! I hope this reply helps anyone having a similiar problem. The response from the NVC takes about a week. Just have patience.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)NVC Notice Error
On June 1st, I received my notice that they had received my Approved I-129f petition.(It was dated May 28th)
On the letter they have my fiance's name wrong! They reversed part of her middle name with her first name. They put
Minh Hanh Thi, instead of Hanh Thi Minh. I have e-mailed them and tried to call them. No response to the e-mail and always
get busy signal when calling.
Has anyone else had this problem? Does this error make a difference? Can anyone give me any advice on how to proceed?

I understand that on June 4,2010 the interview fee was increased. What is the new fee? Do you have to pay another fee for children? As I understand it, these are in addition to the medical exam fees. Am I correct?

We just received our interview date. The interview date is October 6th, but our NOA2 is only valid until September 20th. Who do I need to contact to address this problem? It is too late in the process to take any chances of an issue like this to possibly cancel all we have done to this point! Please help if anyone has had this happen to them.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionDependent Child
My stepchild turned 18 years old during her 2 year Conditional Residence period. Will we be able to include her in our I-751 Petition? If I understand the instructions properly, it appears that as long as she was a dependent minor at the time of recieving her Green Card, we will be able to include her in our petition. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thank you.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionBiometrics
When you go to the Forms section of the USCIS for the I-751 instructions and form, it gives the price($505) and an additional $80 for the Biometrics, if applicable.
What makes it applicable? We have already done the Biometric exam for the 2 year Green Card, is another exam needed?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMilitary Records

I retired in 2005 and did not submit any military records for the I 129 process. But...

I did a CRBA at HCM for our son and had to list everywhere I lived for more than one month to include deployments to all the fun places Uncle Sugar has to offer.

When we did Linh's AOS I made copies of her ID card as part of the evidence pile.

If you are still on AD, contact JAG. They should be able to guide you through the process.

Thank you for the input. I was honorably discharged many years ago. Good luck on your AOS,my prayers are with you!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSingle Status Statement

If you were planning on marrying in Vietnam you would need an Affidavit of Single Status to submit with your marriage application in Vietnam. Since your K-1 that would not apply.

Since you have already got through the I129f petition you must have included the Letters of Intent which include a statement of single status ie..."you are legally free and able to marry.

For the interview, I submitted a reaffirmation of Intent to Marry that reitterated that I continued to be legally free and willing to marry.

I hope I am making sense this morning!

Thank you. You make perfect sense to me and have given me a good answer to my question.
