Welcome back Ken!! Can't wait for an update and some pics smile.gif

We are going to have a honeymoon, just not sure when/where. We are not in a financial position to plan that on top of immigration, moving me, coming back here for a reception.. etc. there have been some ideas tossed around but who knows. We'll see.

Attaya, come to Santa Barbara!! smile.gif The sand isn't quite white, it's a bit chilly at night, but there are beaches and palm trees! LOL

Most annoying question: "You mean you can't just pick up and move down there? I thought we could do that!" to which I say: "no... no we can't... it's actually illegal, and if I could, I obviously wouldn't still be there... so tell that to all your friends committing fraud right now." (well I don't exactly say that, but kinda... there was a girl at work who 'suddenly' had to go away for a few days, and no one knew why other than it was a family issue... we thought someone died... turns out her cousin decided to get married at the last minute so his girlfriend from Spain could stay in Canada because her visa was running out... I was annoyed.....)

That reiterates the fact that the fun's pretty much been taken out of this thread for me, so I won't be posting much here any more, other than to let you know when I get my NOA2... but I will still be reading it to see how people are doing that I want to stay in touch with. speaking of which:

I didn't get any sleep last night, but it was fine. Lamine's entire family called me every half hour between 1:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m--each person formally inviting me to his sister's wedding. No matter how many times Lamine explains the time difference to them, when they get excited about something, they have to call me first thing in the morning--their time. I love it, though smile.gif

THAT is freaken adorable attaya... haha biggrin.gif

About 3 weeks ago I had a dream that James & I got a touch on either July 14th or July 16th. Oddly enough, on July 15th I checked our page on the USCIS website and it updated that there was a touch on 6/31/09! Of course, I was elated and relieved to know that our little file was alive and thriving. However, when I logged back in the next day, I couldn't log into my account. I tried all day and finally got on in the evening. By that time, our "last date updated" was 5/05/09 again! I've been untouched! The next day I told my sister I was bummed that USCIS stole my touch when she informed me that such a date does not exist sad.gif

Has anyone else encountered this? I know USCIS did some maintenance on their website around the 15th, perhaps it was just an error?

haha! I never even thought that 6/31 doesn't exist! Our's is still hanging around as 5/7/9 for the last touch. Which is 'Odd Day'! Lol Seems appropriate.

(also, the choice to post in a thread to track status with a group of support, which is really the purpose of these threads, actually I think has nothing to do with how VJ and Igor's list separate by months... you're the only one mentioning Igor's List... not me... wow... ok seriously, I have had enough... this is ridiculous.

It has nothing to do with sisters staying together so please do NOT turn this into some sexist BS... it has simply to do with EVERYONE being able to SUPPORT each other in this process, REGARDLESS of when/where/why people filed/were NOA1ed when they were... with NOT nitpicking over when someone was acknowledged by the CSC... What you're doing is complete opposite of support, and I think you are making people feel UNwelcome, which is NOT something that any of us really need more of (especially beneficiaries like myself, who are in the minority in this thread as is... this process already makes us feel unwelcomed). Please just STOP bringing it up, and just let EVERYONE share this process in peace, in ANY thread.

That is ALL I am going to say on this from now on... if this topic is brought up again I am leaving this thread because it really should not even have to be discussed... you all know where to find me to stay in touch.

ummm. Don't wanna stir the pot, but I've gotta say that I agree with ashenflowers. She, Allie, and Ken are only three people who are part of the April family and are being excluded in this discussion and "celebration." The other igor's list is going by I-129F sent date, so we really need to stop letting a few days get in the way of us celebrating for one another. I sent my stuff in early/mid April and barely got my NOA2 within the month of April.

Anywho. I've got a bunch of family coming into town this weekend from Europe (my mom's an immigrant too biggrin.gif ), and am trying to think of fun things to do with them. Will also make me get away from the computer for a bit. Am planning on taking them kayaking or rafting...We'll see. I can't believe it's still Monday!

oohhh... kayaking or rafting sounds awesome! And yes, getting away from the computer would be good, if you spend as much time at the computer as I do! ugh! wacko.gif

Lisa-I really think you're going to get your approval soon! Maybe tomorrow.....smile.gif

If you have bluetooth on the cell phone and a laptop with bluetooth, you can zap a picture file from the phone to the computer.

It's kind of a pain, though, so if the phone had an online photo album service (I know alltel does), you could send the dress photo to that, log onto the photo service, then download the photo to your PC.

smile.gif

That's what I have to do with my phone's photos, or I email them to myself (which is basically the same thing). It's a bit of a pain, but works in a pinch if I've forgotten my camera! lol

What is everyone up to this weekend? I got to talk to my future MIL on the webcam today. I've met her in person a few times, and it was good to see her again. She met my daughter, as well, and my daughter is excited about having a British grandma and visiting England. She can't wait! Also, she asked to see my dress, which I was excited to do, after having made Ian leave the room.

Good days... straight ahead, people.

star_smile.gif

LOL!! That is so cute... both on your daughter excited for her British grandma, and also on you being able to show the dress after Ian left... biggrin.gif

I'm not up to too much this weekend... have to work a couple of hours tomorrow, and tonight am going out for dinner and to the bar with some friends.

I'm actually kind of sad because tomorrow my fiance's family is having a BIG BIG family reunion. I mean, big enough that they rented a HUGE house there across from the beach to accommodate every one. It sounds amazing! There will be relatives there that he possibly hasn't even met yet, and relatives that certainly won't make it to our wedding. It really really stings to know that I am really missing out on all of that, and will quite possibly never meet these people, and not get to attend a huge family function like this again (they only happen every few years from what I hear, and in a few years... sorry to say, but some of these older relatives might not be able to make it!!!). sad.gif It just really hammers home that I am not actually a part of his life and family...

On the plus side... his mom isn't going to be in town while I am there visiting (that's not the plus... lol) so she is going to teach my fiance how to take care of the garden today so that I can do it while I'm there next month (that's the plus. LOL!). I think that's cute. I told him to take pictures, and notes, and sketches, and measurements and all the names of the plants so that if one dies I can replace it without her knowing... laughing.gif

LOL I can't see that being on the list of countries with an advantage. oohhh and another from Bangladesh! WOW! I just love the fact that when I called up Lowes to get a quote for custom made sliding mirror doors (naturally, none of our door frames are regular size bec this house is over 100 years old...), I get a 10 minute scolding about asking these questions over the phone... when I just wanted to get an idea of how much things cost and do not intend to buy doors over the phone.

Sorry to open that can of worms Bern *hugs*

If the situation in my life was different, I'd probably want to have kids younger, because I do agree about the advantages of being young when your kids are young. Either way, I completely agree with everyone who's said you can still go to school, and don't give up! :) You honestly can do it. And Kritkit's right.... definitely start up as soon as you think you can, and don't put it off. I've been wanting to go back to school for 5 years now, and aside from a few courses here and there, I haven't been able to. So, here I am reaching 30 and most of my 20s have been a complete waste. At least when you reach 30 you can have a beautiful child to look at and be like 'woo hoo! look what I did!' lol ;)

And don't forget our discussions about friends who seem to be stuck in their teens. Tis better to grow up too fast, than not to grow up at all.

I'm gonna skip right over the TMI sex story, though it is hilarious.... LOL Sorry Reven...

But here's my vent, related to all the baby talk happening. So, today I did this tweet (which referenced a recent job interview that my husband had, and me getting EAD, and AP, and expecting AOS shortly): "This week and month could bring some interesting things for Dan and I. Hopefully the first one is a job for him. *waiting*" and a friend of mine from London DMs me saying "What's the other interesting thing...a small last name as well??" so then I says "Hell F'ing NO, and don't ever say that again.".

Which leads me to my vent. lol We've been married for less than 5 months.. and frankly as far as I'm concerned, didn't even get to have a real wedding.. and I don't have a job! And my husband doesn't even have a job! And we've only known each other 2 years anyways... AND there's about a billion things I want to do in life before having a baby, not to mention TRY to enjoy being married (which, honestly, has been hard to do in our current financial situation)... I don't care that I'm 29 yrs old and my clock is ticking. Just because I'm married, doesn't mean a baby is arriving ASAP, if AT ALL for that matter. GAWD I HATE THAT STEREOTYPE.... ok done.

Wouldn't faxing be faster in the end...I understand your concern, but you're faxing to a government office....no one there hasn't seen your Social before :) or couldn't find it out if they wanted to.

It's taken care of. Last Monday I called them to verify everything, and emailed them the documents. Everything is fine, and right now I'm in my '2 week waiting period' and hopefully will start getting some payments next month! :)

I still just really don't like faxing. It wasn't my social I was sending. It was my marriage certificate and my EAD card with all that relevant info (and back in Jan it was my visa and passport). I don't really care that it's a government office. There are still stupid ppl there, lol... and I'd rather have someone have to log in with a password to access the email, rather than anyone just pick up a piece of paper off the floor.

Also, I don't have a fax machine anyways... and I know there are ways to do it online, but then you just subject yourself to more possible interference.
:ot: LOL
Anyways.... apparently it's personal preference, but I will never fax anything as important as personal documents and ID cards, no matter who I send them to.

So, I still haven't received any approvals for EAD or AOS yet, but I'm wondering... in order to get my EI payments started will I need to send them a copy of the actual card or will they accept a copy of the approval notice? There seems to be quite a lengthy delay in the actual cards being sent to people, so I'm feeling like on top of everything else I'll have to wait another month after my approval before I actually get a card in the mail. If that's the case, I need to try to plan for this delay since my husband still hasn't found a job and his unemployment runs out soon...

edited to clarify: by 'cards' I mean the AOS green card or the EAD card... not the little 'cards' we fill out and send back to EI. lol

Hi everyone,
I'm discussing my ROE with my payroll administrator. Just wanting to make sure he gets all the info.
It was mentioned on page 1 of this thread, but I'm just wanting to confirm that this is correct.
He should use code 'E' which is 'Quit' for the reason for leaving...

And then in block 18 for 'Comments', just put 'Relocation for Anticipated Marriage'? Should there be more info in the comments? Should it mention I'm going to the U.S.?

I found some of the info on it here:

For christ's sake... I just wasted nearly an hour reading completely irrelevant information at the beginning of this thread.
Can someone suggest for me a good date/page number to start reading this thread to find stuff that actually applies to me? lol

I should just read backwards, and probably will after I post this, but here's my situation.

I actually have a job lined up. I'm not worried about it at all, to be honest. It's with my fiancé's place of employment (very small company). The job is basically being made up for me.
Since I just heard that we can't get EI while waiting for EAD (arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh).... and I DO have this job waiting, is there any point in me even applying for EI? Cause as soon as I get EAD I am going to start working, in which case I won't get EI.
sigh.

(after reading a bit, I see this has kinda been discussed already... I don't think I'm going to bother applying. This is really disappointing. sad.gif )

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionFML
So, life has been shitty lately, but I'll spare you the details.

Long story short, I came home today after a very long day which included mailing my ROC ppwk, to find the paper that had the copy of my green card is sitting on my desk. WHY it wasn't paper-clipped with the rest of the papers in the packet I have no idea, but I'm not impressed.
Anyways, I KNOW I'm going to get an RFE for this. My question is, will they still go ahead and cash the check, and give me the NOA and extend my green card for the year for processing in the mean time? It's important to me that they do this because I'm planning a much overdue and much needed trip home this summer, and it falls right around the time my GC expires. I don't want to book my flights until I get the NOA and GC extension just in case something happens. Thoughts?

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionRFE - Limited Additional Evidence Available...
I know everyone's sick of separate posts for RFEs when we should all know what to do, but it's always nice having that personal touch.

I got an RFE today, and I gotta be honest... I don't remember what I sent way back in May.. It was finals week at school, and I had other stuff on my mind.

The RFE states that most of the evidence we sent was too 'new', and too close to the date of filing, which I can understand I guess. I don't really know what else to really send though. This seems like such a waste of time!!!!

Anyways....

Here's what we CAN'T send:
  • Driver's license with matching address -- he never changed his address on his card...
  • Life Insurance or Medical Bills -- never had any that I know of... but I think I can send health insurance from his old job)
  • Affidavits -- Don't ask. We just can't.
  • Photos -- I think this is dumb evidence anyways... and regardless, there aren't actually any photos of us from 2012 or 2011... We could send old ones, but what's the point? There's no proof of when they were taken, and I know we've sent a butt load of pics with other files
  • Joint Utility Bills -- everything was only in his name
  • 401K Plans -- He has been unemployed for a year and a 1/2 out of the last 3 years... and I have only been working part time. We don't have a 401(k)
  • Joint Travel Documents -- we haven't traveled together by air at all (too expensive)

Here's what I'm sure we already sent or I CAN send again:
  • Copy of our joint lease renewal agreement -- but I was added on to the lease very late.. not til 2011 (moved in 2010)
  • 2010 Joint Tax Return
  • 2011 Joint Tax Return
  • Joint Car Registration -- Maybe? I dunno how to find old copies, though I can try to look it up
  • Car Insurance Records
  • Joint Credit Card -- Kind of.. it's just a Costco Amex
  • MORE bank statements

uhhh that's about it guys. Probably still not enough... Any ideas?

CSC processing speed has dropped by 50% since July. Look at the data: http://dashboard.usc...e=2&charttype=1

Pull up the same chart for VSC and you will see that they have not dropped their completion rates.

No wonder VSC is catching up with CSC.

Great... That was really depressing. I really need to move at the end of January, and now I might not even have it by then according to these trends..? fantastic.

It's looking pretty bad for us guys. There's been a major slowdown in CSC approvals after mid August and it seems to be getting even slower. I don't think we'll hear anything until mid-November. Hope I am wrong.

I was expecting mid-November anyways. November is 6 months from May, so it's not really out of the ordinary. Earlier would be nicer, but getting my hopes up has not proved me well lately. lol
