CanadaToronto Medical - for NON-Torontonians
I live about a 2 hour drive from Toronto.. it's not bad... but I still don't want to have to leave at 4 am to get there on time to do my medical next week. I tried searching some info on VJ, but couldn't actually really find any info together in one spot (maybe cause so many of you actually are from Toronto!? LOL.. or are doing medicals in Montreal).

Annnyways.. I was wondering, if anyone has a suggestion for a good hotel located near Dr. Seiden's office, or what the status is for parking in the area, or if it's better to take public transit (keeping in mind I'd like to arrive around 6:15 am).

Thanks smile.gif

OH.. OH .. lol... I DID happen to see that the Holiday Inn Express Toronto - Downtown (woot) is on Lombard St, about 3 blocks from the medical location, so that's pretty sweet! They do have parking, but it's $20 extra. That might solve my dilemma, but still, I wanted to let other people know, who might be wondering the same things as me!!

hahaha this post keeps getting more and more hilarious.

I actually had mac and cheese tonight at a restaurant. I choose it almost because of this post. lol

lol I'm not sure Kathryn. I think I knew that you had lived there, but I'm not sure if that was before or after the Canaliens map ;) I grew up about 5 mins from Tilbury. Technically in Essex County, but who's counting.

haha! That's awesome! I voted London, and Chatham-Kent. Though Chatham-Kent probably wouldn't normally make my top, but meh... It's where I'm from... basically. I also nominated Niagara Falls. Can't believe it wasn't on the list!

Here's one of my faves from my fiance's most recent visit. We had a picnic, and I took off my shoes, then decided to try to take some pics in the flowers when we were done eating, so he put my shoes back on for me laughing.gif !! This pic was 1/2 by accident... haha

What a fab picture, Ashen. Where are you coming back from?

Thanks! Coming back from Santa Barbara, CA. That's it down there in the background. lol

Speaking of... here he is on 'Tunnel Rock' in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park, in CA. We went on a road trip up there during my visit.
No, I'm not sure how he got up there either... blink.gif

Woo hoo!

Got my secret Santa gift today from.........

Sapphire Dreams!

What a delightful pairing, too...and perfect for me. biggrin.gif

Thank you so much, Sapphire! This will be the perfect complement for next week's trip to the cabin!

I don't have a picture taking device, so I've taken it upon myself to do as Trailmix suggested, and drew a picture myself in Paint.

This is an accurate depiction of what my gift was:

haha cool! Glad you got yours before Christmas tongue.gif Those spoons sound (and look) amaziiiiing... mmm.... Probably better that they're not coloured in though... the 'paint' version of brown spoons might not have the same.. uh... effect.

THANK YOU SO MUCH ashenflowers!

They are awesome! A Christmas book with tidbits about Christmas (I haven't been able to look through it much yet, as I literally got it, opened it, took pictures and am posting here laughing.gif)
A Cat Bookmark book for every month in 2010...sooooooo cute!
And a couple of ornaments for my tree! and as soon as I am done posting here, that's just where they are going biggrin.gif

Woo hoo!!!! So glad you liked them! biggrin.gif and yay for the timing!! lol Merry Christmas!!

I curse not having money to send it.
Though the person might get it after Christmas, there's nothing wrong with a gift after Xmas, brings back the joy tongue.gif

I hope your SS is Wyatt, so he waits the longest tongue.gif

sad.gif

Why would you wish that on me? I even double-gifted my recipient...

rose.gif lol I was just kidding Wyatt... you're just being a meany pants to people who can't send their stuff... Though I know you're kidding too, but it's extremely hard and frustrating being strapped for cash around the holidays though, many people know that. That's all. There's already enough pressures this time of year tongue.gif lol

I was like omg! Do they light up!?!??! hahaha good.gif
I'll try to get a pic of them from him.

I think we should just upload them when we get them. it's such a busy time of year, we might not be able to coordinate ourselves all on one date, and since a few of us have to send ours late, that'll just make us feel worse if they're not there in time tongue.gif
Plus there's actually quite a few VJers making the big moves this month, so it might be hard for us to get online at a specific time... so yeah, I vote just open and display whenever you can/want! smile.gif

re: the mail.... Dan actually works in shipping and sends dozens/hundreds of packages every day. His recommendation is USPS. Above his normal job-related stuff, whenever he mails things personally to me, that's how he always sends them and we haven't had a problem yet. He says it's also, by far, the cheapest way. Not sure if you're sending from coast to coast, but from California to Ontario, Canada, is about $20-30 for an average sized package, and takes 1-2 weeks to arrive.
He actually says they try NOT to use FedEx.

I am shipping from Florida to Ontario. I just want to make sure my gifts get there before my future in-laws leave for their cruise!

oh yeah.. duh, I knew that... hahah I bet if you leave it a week, week and a 1/2 it would probably be ok. You can always get a tracking # too.

ok, finally answering these! Hope it's some sort of help for someone who has no idea. Sorry for the delay. I know that my Secret Santa is probably not someone who's already sent there stuff. Process of elimination begins! *ahem*

Do you have any hobbies in particular?
recently took up ukulele playing (no, really), travel, animals (if that counts), reading, computers, blogging, drinking... I'm hoping to pick up some new hobbies once I move to California smile.gif

What are your favourite colours?
I like all colours

Do you decorate for Christmas? What colours do you use and what style (if any) do you like?
Yes! Christmas is great fun. I'm having to get rid of all my stuff for the big move though, so I'm open to new ideas!

When you shop, what are your favourite things to shop for?
oohhh tough. I usually hate shopping. I don't know how to answer this. lol
