I just wanted to post here because I recived a letter from MTL regarding my interview date - along with it in the envelope there was another letter for Bradley Gaylord from South Carolina and it was addresses to a lawyer. It was regarding a K-1 interview on April 15th. I do not have the letter as I am visiting the US right now, but when my mother read it to me lastnight I asked her to mail it to the address on the letter so those poor people will get notice of their interview. I thought I would post in this forum just in case anyone knows who that is or if they themselves are on VJ.

How funny! I was looking around on here today (and I haven't been checking regularly for a while now), but I'll be removing conditions at the end of February and I wanted to refresh my memory a little about what all we'll need. I just noticed this thread! Ha ha! Fun! We are due April 4th, 2011! We didn't find out until we were already more than 2 months - but now that we are more than half way I've been starting to think what we'll do with the baby's room etc. We decided we want it to be a surprise so we did not find the baby's sex. The ultrasound technician and Dr were excited were pretty excited because everyone usually wants to know - they are pretty good at keeping secrets too!

After my husband contacted ours on the phone, he was able to fill out and fax a consent form back (with all our details) allowing their office to inquire on our behalf. We never had attend anything. It was all done over the phone and the contact from their office would call us every Friday with updates. Ours sped up even though VSC told him/us that there was nothing to be donw and it was simply "awaiting processing" after 8 months. Mysteriously though, after the inquiry we were approved right away. Good Luck...

i went to Canada for a month and had my passport, expired green card, and the extension letter with me and the looked at everything and asked me a few questions about when I reapplied and how far along I was in the process of getting my 10 year. I even answered with the wrong dates (I said Aug instead of April) and said a few other things that I realized were wrong after-the-fact, but they honestly didn't seem to care or be listening because they didn't even notice what I said didn't make sense. In my defense I was traveling with a very demanding 2 month old and hadn't slept in 2 months either.

Hi All,

I contacted USCIS customer service since it has been past 6 months. The rep said they are currently processing application of date Feb 28. So they are quite behind in processing, about 29 days after the normal processing time is what the rep mentioned.


I think sometimes they tell us ANYTHING to shut us up! There doesn't always seem to be any true pattern (even though there is supposed to be) because some of us with applications around that time or later have received their greencards already while others haven't. I guess it also depends on other parts of the process too - like the biometrics date, which stack of applications yours lands in and whose desk it ends up on... to me every step of this long drawn out process has "rough guidelines" but the dates have never made sense across the board. There is always some that get surprised with something earlier than expected and some that have to wait longer. Frustrating.

I'm sure you'll hear something soon BCP47 (and everyone else still waiting).

hi everyone

I am new to the forum and i need some help on my case I filed my i-751 in march and also did the biometrics in march of 2011 and it has been now 6 months later and my case on the uscis website status shows initial review. does anyone how much longer it will take for my case to be approved because vermont service center is taking very long or is it they haven't updated there website in a while can someone please give me some info i would really appreciate it thanx... :help: :(

If you want to be added to the list we need to know the dates you filed, date of NOA and biometrics. You time-line might not be too far off those listed. You filed at VSC? Did you do your biometrics at the end of March? Where there any special circumstances re your case? Some of those getting approved right now did their biometrics at the beginning of April. It's taking some of us 6 months to get our Greencard - you might be getting yours any time now. If you give us more details maybe someone will be able to help.

We got approved! Just got the letter in the mailbox today! It says that I should "receive a new Permanent Resident Card, Form I-551 (green card), within 60 days." They also put a really nice sticker with a new person's name/tittle over the signature section. Classy move! I guess they didn't want to waste paper??? But anyway...

I havent received my biometric date yet but I'd like to know as well because I would like to get it done early when possible.


We did ours in Atlanta. We really didn't have any issues, and it took about 45 minutes (we got there on a Tuesday morning at 9:45 and left around 10:30am). The security guard working was super sweet, but he also joked the only reason he was letting me in for an early walk-in was because I was my due date was around my appointment date! They were super nice though and didn't really seem to check everyone's letters at the door. They do check it and stamp it at the first desk though, where you fill out a form and give it back to back them. Then they give you a number- you wait, go up get processed with finger prints etc and then you are done. Easy and pretty quick. Not sure if you have to have a good excuse though as mine was pretty obviously legit. We had our baby last night so ther eis no way I'd be there on the 11th!

Glad to see you got this sorted!! Why is it we have to be so aggressive in order to get anything done? It's sad that they system seems to fail over and over again! We end up doing it ourselves anyhow! Thank goodness for Congressmen and Senators that help!!! And thank goodness for VJ!! Hey there Club Royale,
We did the shortcut and printed ours too and it seems liek it was about 2 inches. I just left a lot of paper on each side to cover the box where you are pasting it onto the DS-3032.

I emailed it and then sent it by mail as well so they have a signed hard copy back up. Ours was accepted the same day they recieved the hard coopy in the mail, but I am not sure if it was due to the hard copy arriving or the email which I had sent a few days earlier as I have still not recieved an automated reply or a reply via email from NVC.

I had read in a number of threads and in LingChe's Shortcuts that it's possible to continue with the K-3 (by returning the DS-230 part 1 to embassy) EVEN THOUGH we are also working on the CR-1 and plan on using this path.

By doing this the K-3 interview is scheduled and when your CR-1 completes it can be possible (depending on timelines) to use the K-3 interview alloted and change it to a CR-1 interview.

I was just wondering if anyone has done this? If so - how much time do you think it saved?

When you call NVC and are told they have been generated - you can go ahead and send them. Just don;t send htings off before they have been generated at NVC. I agree with Turbo - get him to send everything to you - you double check it and add the marriage certificate and then overnight it to NVC. What's the problem in that? That is what most people have done - check the guides, it's perfectly fine to come from you. In fact I wouldn't do it the other way!!

I think they have been told they are not allowed to give them out. The easiest thing to do is wait 3-5 days for the petitioner to recieve the hard copy in the mail. Email NVC if you want, but it may take a week to get a response and I believe they will tell you the same - to wait until you get the bill in the mail. They are really cracking down on this. It doesn't take that long - and once you get it you can pay online and everything is speedy.

Since they are not required to be submitted until April you don't need them. As suggested - maybe byt he tiem you ge the interview it woudl be good to take them wiht you as extra proof.

If you have not filed the 2008 taxes yet but you include the W2 without the corresponding 1040 for 2008 (and 1099's if applicable) you may risk a RFE as they want to see the entire set of docs for each year you submit. Someone in Vj said they now have to wait until they file taxes and get the additional forms asked for because they submited the W2 for 2008!

There is nothing to find out. The message was generated in both our cases a bit of tiem had elapsed and NVC has not recived our DS-230's. If nothing happens right away after they have accepted the I-864 a messge is sometimes generated that says SOMETHING is missing. The "SOMETHING" in this case was the DS-230. So it's not a real RFE...

A friend of mine at NVC thought there was something still missing from an RFE that she answered and had already sent what was asked for. When she spoke to NVC all it was - was that the AVR system had not been updated and it was still reflecting the RFE that she had already dealt with. Just be aware that not all things that appear to be RFE's really are... make sure you DO follow them up - but investigate and find out what it is before you panic!

We also had a letter for "missing information" sent out on the 11th. We have not recieved it either. When I spoke to an operator, she said that the missing information was the DS-230 packet!!! Well since we only sent it today - of course it's "missing" although it's not REALLY missing - because we know where it is!!

Anyway, we were worried it had to do with our I-864 as well, but she said everything with that is fine and it just means they are waiting for our DS-230. How annoying!! I'd say you are probaly in the same boat and you should just speak to an operator to be sure.

If you need a Congressman or Senator involveed it's quite easy to Google who they are for the state the petitioner lives in. You can email and/or call and see if they can help you out.

It shouldn't really take a month... most get there in around a week... Did it come from VSC or CSC?
Do you know for sure it left? And NVC says it has nothing? If it's been a month you should follow it up - don't wait! If none of them have answers where it is you may want to get a congressman involved or something???
