Hey there OBX,

Seems like we might be joing as well!!! Our Senetor just got word we were APPROVED on the 20th although no updates online, via email or hard copy yet! I am going to try to call and see if we have any numbers gereated yet. Hope we hear somehting for sure! I am afraid to start letting myself be too happy in case it isn't true!

Oh pleaaase tell me they're not going to send me to Baltimore to do my darn biometrics. I just did the USCIS search and technically since I'm in Maryland Baltimore is brought up as the office closest to me, even though Alexandria, VA is minutes away.


Yea, we have offices in Memphis and Nashville too, but getting to Atlanta is actually a faster drive for me, so it worked out well. I was a little scared to spend 4+ hours in the car plus the time to process today (this baby could come any time) but I thought that risk was better than waiting until it gets closer and then and possibly missing the appointment entirely if I go over my due date! First time moms statistically go over by a week and 3 days apparently!

Updating our biometrics. We took a chance and drove the almost 2 hrs to Atlanta today. They THANKFULLY let me walk in. The security guards were super nice to me (not sure if it was just because I look like I could pop at any moment) but they were laughing and joking and asking if it was my first etc. I think we arrived at about 9:45am maybe a bit later. Hubs waited in the car in the parking lot while I went through security. There weren't many people in line at that time. I filled out a form, got in line to hand it in, the same nice security guard collected and stamped it and checked the front and back of my hands, I was then given a number and asked to go sit in some chairs and wait. They were at 119 and I had 137. I waited until my number was called then went and got the finger prints and photo taken. I took my time afterwards, but was back to the car by 10:30am. So glad they let me get this done and over with. Now this baby can come whenever he/she wants! Overall it was an easy stress free procedure!

Updating our Biometrics. Not sure what we are going to do, as I am due the first week of April - but I don't really want to go the 2 hrs each way to the appointment before hand in case I go into labour early...
If I leave it until the scheduled date, then there's a chance we won't have the baby yet if he/she is late. Ahhh.... Why can't these things ever be easy?

Well could I get someone to update me at the VSC. they received my 1-751 on 3/9/11. they cashed my check on 3-15. I rceived my wife's 1 year NOA on 3-19-11. Even though I have an EAC number to check with there is showing no accetance yet in the system.


PLease clarify before anyone updates you... Do you mean you have confirmation of delivery to VSC on the 9th and you received the NOA in the mail on the 19th?
What date is written on the NOA though?

I should have started the thread with the name in the format like the other months (I-751 March 2011 Filers). I guess a moderator can't do this now? I don't want to confuse people and start more than one thread of the same thing unless they could delete one.??

1. Personal check is fine.
2. Don't bother with the binder. They will just take it out and process it how they need to anyway! We just listed everything on the cover and numbered proof in sections, then a, b, c etc if there were a few things in the section... we marked the corresponding number/letter in the corner of the page and had it all in order as listed.
3. We added supporting photos by arranging them and printing them 3/page with explanations.

Congrats! We apparently were approved on the 21st as well according to our Senator. We have not seen any proof of this yet, no updates on our case on the website or via email, but both the I-130 and I-129F were apparenlty approved so of course we will go the CR-1 route... have you decided which way you will go yet? We will be about the same timeline!

Like many of you we are stuck waiting for the VSC to get back to us with our NOA2. I was just wondering if anyone can clarify something...

Previously I read that I am required to provide a police a check from my (the benificiary's) country as well as:

any country I have lived in for 6 or more months consecutively since the age of 16...

Well today I read on this site http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html#police that it is actually 12 months or more. If this is true it leaves me with a few country's less - but I want to make sure this is correct. Have they changed the requirement or has it always been this way?

Also - are the police certificates valid for 6 or 12 months after you have them or does it depend on the country they are from? Again I have read and been told different things by the RCMP who don't really seem to know.

We filed an I-129F as well as the I-130, although we are planning on going with the CR-1 route.

We have been stuck at VSC since June 2nd and haven't had any touches or been transferred to the somewhat speedier CSC... (you lucky people!) so who knows what time frame we are looking at... hopefully soon!! Like many of you, our patience are wearing thin too!
